Good morning, all.

It's Cactus' birthday? Well, Happy Birthday!

I had a nice 8 mile tempo run yesterday evening. Just into week 3 of Philly Marathon training. So far so good, I guess...

Umm, nothing much else going on. Another day...

Happy birthday, CactusTri.

4.4 miles this morning of fartlek. Nothing like ripping out a good fartlek early in the morning, it's a gas, as they used to say.

It's thundering and lightning, so I'm not running. Should I have run anyway?

Morning all!

Happy Birthday, Catus!

Not much to report here either. More problems with my left leg. This time it's the hammy. Ice last night and I opted for extra stretching instead of my short run this morning. If it's not better tomorrow I'll get it checked out. I don't want to play games and end up completely sidelined. I need to run right now.

Hope I haven't missed anything major with any of you. I'm expecting a very hectic week or two, then I should be able to check in more often. It's nice to have a light...

Take care!
Morning. Well, didn't get in the 3 mi I had planned this morning. Just too tired. It always takes about 1- 1 1/2 hrs to shut things down at night (dishes, food, hamsters, clothes, set up for tmrw, etc etc etc..) and it was 10:55 by the time I was in bed and getting to sleep- despite starting at 9:30 to get to bed. I'm bringing stuff to go to the gym instead after work. I was already planning on doing an arms workout there, so I'll just add on the run. Hopefully I won't feel like sleeping like I do now. I could seriously go back to bed and fall asleep in a minute!

Happy Birthday Cactus!!

Hey amichel! Good to see you around. Sorry about the leg. You're smart to pay attention and take care of it now!

Ok, great runs everyone! It's Tues. One day closer to the weekend. (Is it bad to already be like this on the second day of school? I think it's just the sleep I'm missing!)

Ciao.

Hey ya 30s!

Happy Birthday Cactus!!!

I didn't run this morning...that was scheduled. Yesterday, I ran 1.5, walked 3.5 and had an hour tap lesson last night...frankly, that was a big day for me. Tap is actually getting easier, in just 2 lessons. I had 2 private lessons with the teacher, but I'll start in her regular adult class in Sept. I'm really looking forward to it! It's really hard but when it happens...it's magic. I'll never be Gene Kelly, or Fred Astaire, or even Ruby Keeler, but I wouldn't mind being me in tap shoes!

I went to rehearsal last night, and had a couple of the cast members try on costume pieces that I'd gotten for them since the costume fitting. The cowboy vest I made fit the little girl nicely, although the dress I bought her barely fits. It's fine though. I found a much nicer suit in DH's closet for Rev Tooker, and the busboy jacket I ordered for another castmember fit nicely. I'm still under budget, although I have to get a cap gun holster (anyone got one they want to lend/give/sell to me??) and a couple other things...and I've run out of money. I need to get my reimbursement before I can buy anything else.

In other news...our anniversary sucked giant weiners. (And, no, Pacer, not in a good way. No toes were pointing anywhere last night.) OK, so we decided we wouldn't do anything, and I knew I was going to get home very late, but I got home at 9:30. Rob had eaten leftovers, but left me nothing. He hadn't walked Penny, thinking I had. He'd gone to the audiologist yesterday and they'd talked about a hearing aid, plus he found out he failed the exam he took a couple of weeks ago. So I was tired and he was testy. He mentioned he thought the gutters were leaking into the basement again...then he tried to wash the dishes and realized there was no hot water. Evidently the hot water heater is busted. That led to a HUGE arguement about our finances....needless to say, the good undies were wasted.

Um, yeah. Super awesome night.

So I came into work early (unshowered) so I can leave early. We're not technically allowed to do that, but tough. I don't want to take a whole day off to deal with this sh!t. Rob is home now, but he's got a meeting he has to attend, so I'm going home in an hour or so.

What a f'ing pain in my a$$. At least it's really cool out and I'll probably be able to get in a run this afternoon, even though it's not on my sched.

Bah. Boo hiss.

Good Morning Gang.

Happy Birthday to Cactus and a belated Happy Anniversary to Moe (sorry your night wasn't so great.)

I managed 4+ miles of hills yesterday in the heat.

I'm fighting a summertime cold. Not feeling great this morning. Sore throat, congestion, achy. Yuk. To make matters worse DW left this morning for a three day trip. Nice.

Taking the kiddies the Please Touch Museum in Lancaster today.

Have a great day!

Mornin'!
Back from nice couple-a miles with favorite pup. 3 on tap for tomorrow. Yogurt is eaten (apple turnover, in case you were dying to know Scratch ) and coffee cup is full. Life is good.

Odd ball partner comment the other day... "You know, you look really good and strong when you run, its kind of amazing that you're so slow..."
hmm. Although, I admit to being ridiculously slow.

Happy Birthday Cactus!

2oh (or something...dyslexic thing with numbers and letters when i don't know what they mean...its nothing personal). The tomato worms on my plants ate about the top 20% of the green foliage off the top (where my new blooms were going to come from) and at least 4 green tomatoes. Really chaps my ass because I planted beefsteaks and you don't get as many of them. But your DW is right, man... I just pulled off the first 2 this week (one to my folks and one for me) and they're amazing. My dad actually called me and told me its the best tomato he's had since he was a kid.
Sara Hank likes to play with it like a kick ball too. He's um, not exactly graceful and likes to slow it down with his feet. but he's not a chewer (only his bones) and likes the handle so he can run around the yard swinging it...
Moe ehh. pretend its saturday. and i don't have a holster but I have swheeet orange cap gun. Sometime for fun, get one, sneak it in the car and then hang out the window and shoot it in your neighborhood. Worth the 2.59....

QOD:If you could time travel, where/when would you go? (i friggin loved voyagers when i was a kid....)

Morning!

Ankle felt better this morning so I went out for a few easy miles. Felt some twinges along the way so I'll probably have to take another couple of days off.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CACTUS!!

Beth, it's never too early to be thinking about the weekend!

(((Moe))), sorry that your anniversary sucked. Hope things are better today.

(((Amichel's leg))) - Take care of yourself!

Have a great day everyone!

A great morning. It was mild, I suppose, temperature-wise. It wasn't hot but it wasn't cool. I completed c25k w9d1. I went the furthest distance and for the longest time that I had ever gone before. This was also the very best mental day I have had.... as in I was not constantly thinking about what body part hurt or how long I have to go, how much time is left, how many blades of grass I have passed, etc. I went for 2 miles for the first time ever and my pace for the second mile was faster than the first. I finished strong and was tempted to speed up at the "finish marker" to see the time shaved but I remembered my knee and just kept it an even pace.

Alrighty! Time to scarf down breakfast and be late for work.

G'morning, all!

bigGahoona...Yes, they make the jolly ball in smaller sizes. I believe I've seen them at PetSmart.

Cactus...HaPpY bIrThDaY!

Maples...congrats on getting thru w9d1. You're almost done!!

Mandaroo...sorry about your toms! Beefsteak are the best if you frry them up green.

My DH took me to work this morning and we had to stop at the grocery on the way. We're walking in an aisle and I tell him to slow down b/c I cannot walk as fast as he can in the shoes I'm wearing (strappy, black 3" heels). His response, "Why don't you lay down and throw your feet over my shoulders." Next thing we hear..."excuse me, young man" as 2 elderly nuns (in full on habits) asked to get past us. I've never seen my DH blush so badly (good Catholic boy that he is - was really embarrassed).

7 miles on schedule for tonight. Should be cool enough to run outside. Maybe I'll go to the State Park and run and beat the [email protected]@rd (yea, I know we can type it but I'm trying to be a lady) that I tanked on last Sunday.

Moe...Sorry your anniversary was less than you expected.

Happy Birthday, CactusDude!

AuntieMoe, huge bummer about the anniversary. Any chance that making up for the anniversary will be even more fun than the day (night) was supposed to be? And while I'm glad to hear that the cowgirl's vest fits, you know I have a vested (heh) interest in knowing whether the boots do.

No exercise for me yesterday. DH's car is in the shop so coordination of outings was too difficult. Hopefully he will be getting it back today. Plus I was really tired yesterday from DS waking us up at 5AM. Grrrr. He did sleep all night last night, though.

Other than that, I am just trying to get back into the groove after vacation. Yesterday was fine, but this morning has been fraught with peril---train was extra-special slow and late, kicked myself in the ankle with my big boot, hit my head on something. The one thing I cannot afford to do is to spill coffee on myself, as I am wearing a white top and white-and-black skirt and I have a few important meetings today.

Later, kids. Feel better, amichel and get some sleep, maccabeth!

I'm sure someone has an actual recipe. This is what I do:

beat an egg and put it in a shallow bowl

bread crumbs in a shallow bowl (season them up however you like)

Cut the toms - I like them thicker and quickly dredge them through the egg (both side).

I shake off loose egg gunk and then a quick dredge through the breadcrumbs.

Fry them up in a cast iron skillet w/ a bit of oil. Or, you can bake them. I don't like a lot of breading on mine and mine never look pretty.

Moe...did I read correctly last night? You're in for the Philly 1/2? What finish time are you going for? If I recall we run a similar pace and I could use all the motivaton I can get.

Katholeenie – if you think conditioner makes them slick, try baby oil. And then we followed that up with Jolly Balls. Nice work kids.

Weight\Diet club – isn't there something like this in the Water Stop area?

Happy Birfday Cactus!

{{{{Moe}}}}

For those dealing with craptastic heat and humidity, keep at it. My last two longer runs (14.5 on Saturday, 9 this AM) have been in cooler, drier weather, and they have been fantastic. My pace for this morning's run was right at my race pace for my last half in June, but felt easy. And I finished 'fast' – negative splits and all that jazz.
