Good morning 30's

I slept all of three and a half hours. One more 12 today then I'm off for a week, and not too soon!

My knee did ok during my run last night but my right foot was a little numb afterward. Of course I was wearing new shoes so that was more than likely the problem.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Hey there, Tiff.

I've got about 7.5 miles planned for after work today. Legs are feeling good, maybe from now on days when I run 5K races I'll always try to walk 5 or 6 miles in the afternoon. One of the books I've been reading about running had some material about Paavo Nurmi and the schedules used by the great distance runners from Finland in the first half of the 20th century, it seems they used a lot of walking to crosstrain and build base.

I like reading about Nurmi, he's interesting some to me because he was the first to run with a stopwatch in hand and he was very calculated at how we went about his training and racing.

Good morning, guys. I hope everyone is well today...

I did about 7 miles yesterday, and today is a simple 3 or so. No big deal.

I got to bed nice and early last night and finally got a good night's sleep. (Thanks to Maggie getting up in the night to feed the baby). I feel much better today...

Have a great day, all!

Morning everyone. I had a date with the ice packs last night and woke up with my hip feeling ok. Hopefully I'm really on the mend (again). I'll probably try an easy run tonight and see how it goes. It's supposed to be fairly warm here today, high of 68.

nettie I'm just shocked you didn't know who I was I sent you a PM explaining...

LSU_fan - I think the first check for numbness in the foot is that your shoes are laced too tight. The trick my running store taught me was to scrunch up your toes, then tie your shoes to get them both loose enough and tight enough in the right places. The guy then winked at me and said, of course, you have to remember to relax your toes after you tie your shoes or you'll have different problems

Hello to everyone else! DD is up, so I better get my act together and get us out the door on time.

Good Morning Guys and Gals.

Let's see...................

DD1 is up and eating, about to take her to the bus stop. It's chilly out. 36 degrees.

Then it's take DD2 to pre-school. She's feeling good so she's ready to go back.

Have a baby sitter coming this morning so I can get in a short run. She'll watch DD3.

All that before lunch.

Nice morning.

It's cold out there... we had our first frost... I spent last night scrambling to cover up the mums I just planted...

I'm getting ready to take Jaeger to doggy daycare, he needs it! I didn't run him last night, but I did walk him for 2 miles after my run, and he was still itching to go more!

Have a good day everyone. I'm in taper mode... it feels kind of weird. I don't know why... but it always does.

Morning. Where's my coffee? Oatmeal in the morning = good!

I have to go to the dog store and get my poor pooch a coat. It's too cold out there for him! Heading to the gym (I neglected my weight training last week), pet store, and post office.

An FYI, I am accepting shirt money

Good runs to you folks! Gotta get 3 east in this morning.

Hey kids - Like Tiff, I am sleep deprived. My 4 YO caught the croupy cough from the flempup, so he ended up barfing all over his bed around 11:30. Cleaned all that up, changed the sheets, sat with him in a steam shower until about 12:15. He came in bed with me and Mrs Tim, came close to barfing a few more times, and was back in the shower at 2:00 and 4:00. Going to the doc today, hope he feels better for Halloween.

I did get a nice 4.6 in this AM - around 39* or so. Nice weather for running.

Gonna catch up on the end of yesterday's thread while I caffienate and throw down some Cheerios.

Hey folks!!! Nothing much to say here. Hit the TM at home for some incline walking, then did about 20 trips up the attic steps to put some stuff away!!! Spent some time last night with my nephew for his 6th birthday. I can not believe he is 6, yikes!

Tonight will be ellipitcal and weights.

Got to run. My whole office is being redone today. I am not too pleased about it, wasted all day yesterday packing it up and will spend the whole afternoon putting it back in order. The lady who moved into my office last year does nothing but complain that she doesn't like her desk so now I have to deal with this. I am sure it will be worth it when it is done but I would have much rather had her move to a different office!!

Morning, all.

No workout news for me, as yesterday was a rest day.

Today's already been crazy. One of our dogs (Maggie) has an ear infection, and she's been on some sort of ear drops and a steriod. (Prednazone?) Anyway.. the steriod makes her drink more water, and of course, pee more.

Usually I take Maggie out just before I go to bed around 10-ish, and Radioyada takes her again, when he comes to bed, anywhere from 1-2.5 hours later. However, Radioyada is out of town on business for a few days.

It didn't even dawn on me this morning, that Mags might need that bathroom break first thing. I got out of bed, and Mags dashed to the closed bedroom door. I mistook her activity for her normal morning hyperness. Unfortunately, 45 seconds later, with her pacing right in front of me, I found out the poor thing was about to burst, as she "leaked" a fair amount of doggie pee for about two feet... on the bedroom carpet, on the carpet runner in the bathroom, and right over my socks! Ugh!

I didn't fuss.. I know she couldn't help it, and she was even cowering like she was embarassed, or she thought she was in trouble. After a trip outside, where she emptied the rest of her bladder, I spent the time before work this morning blotting carpet, cleaning carpet with woolite, fabreezing the carpet, removing the runner in the bathroom, and doing a load of laundry for the linens used on cleanup duty, and then making a run by the recycling / trash center to toss the runner.

Whew..it's 8:30, and I'm ready to go back to bed, already! Maybe I should bring out one of those energy drinks again......

Hope you guys are having a better morning!
