Hey, all--

I had a ridiculously long post and I hit a weird button, so now I have to start over. Hopefully this means this won't be so ridiculously long

Got out for a fast (for me) 2.57 miles in 30:09. Apparently I've run 99.9 miles since I started logging in June. I seriously wish I would look at this stuff before I go out because I would have run the extra 0.1 mile. Sheesh! It felt good to push the speed though. I've been working on increasing time/distance and I was really slowing down as a result. I really enjoyed picking up the pace a little bit.

I've been missing stuff due to work and travel, but I hope everyone is doing well (yikes on the toe, Beth!). I'll try to get on more often this week.

Well, last week I said I was ruminating, and now I'm ready to share:

Short story: I'm going to Philly. Whether I'm running or not.
Longer story: I'm in a dissertation group that encourages goal-setting. When people meet goals, they're supposed to reward themselves. Well, last December I met a goal, and I never cashed in the reward (a trip to Prince Edward Island), so when it came up in the group that I never gave myself a reward, everyone encouraged me to do something. I decided to go to Philly since meeting all of you folks will be a very rewarding experience. I still don't know if I'm going to run the 8k or not because I need to get more of my mole excised and the only appointment they could get me is on November 13 which would make it very difficult for me to race on the 18th. If I can get another appointment (cross your fingers), then I will almost definitely run the 8k.

I hope no one minds that I'm going and that there's room for one more at all the pre- and post-race festivities. If you've reached max capacity, let me know. If not, does anyone have extra room?

Good running, walking, resting and working out to everyone today!
