Since I'm awake.

91.3 miles for me last month in 16:49:22, longest run of 11.5 miles, new 5K PR of 27:49. It's been a long slow buildup to get to here, 17 days from Philly. What is it now? 10 more runs or so left before that day.

Almost there, almost there.

Good morning, Scratch, and everybody else!

Well, we're now past the deadline for submitting your predictions for Philly. Hopefully we'll have that spread sheet tallied soon. (?) I would suggest that Beaker (or whoever is doing it for her) start a new Fantasy Philly thread with that spreadsheet in the first post. And maybe include a link to the current existing thread in which everybody explains why they predicted the time they did. Then we can pick teams and take it from there...

I closed out October with an 8 mile run last night. I finished the month with 165 miles, which might be a little low for this point of marathon training, but with the baby in the middle of the month, I'll take it. YTD I'm up to 1195, which is only 7 miles behind my total for all of 2006. I can live with this...

Okay, it's another day. Have a good one, everybody...

Good morning! New day. I can't wait to run this morning.

I ended up running 63.6 miles in October. That's twice as much as I ran in July.

We had some great trick or treaters last night. The last two kids were the best! The were so smiley and happy, said their please and thank you's. The best part was as they were leaving they said to me "Have a nice night". They weren't more than 7 or 8 yo. How cute! Made my night.

Just finished reading last night's thread.

First of all, a huge congratulations to prae on getting the job!!! I'm very happy for you and I'm sure that alleviates a little bit of stress, egh?

Secondly, the first batch of shirts went out and if you did not get them you will be getting them in the next day or two. I still have 3 shirts here to mail. They have not gone out yet because I have not received your money. Please PM me and let me know how that's going.

It seems as if it was many moons ago, but in the past I worked at an outdoor store and attended many clinics on fabric technology. Generally, you don't want to dry your tech clothing on high heat (sorry HH ) but rather on low heat or no heat. (I, personally, prefer to air dry my clothes, including socks.) There are times when a little bit of heat is actually good. For instance, if you wash your gore tex jacket. Drying on low heat will help restore the wicking ability on the outer layer. I believe BigG mentioned this at the end of last night's thread and I concur with what she found. A good rule of thumb is just to be gentle with your gear and it will last a long time.

Bob, I'm wearing my shirt during the race in Philly. I'll probably have a layer on underneath.

Good morning everyone!

First off, Way to go Prae!!!!

We had a good night trick or treating last night. DD2 and I covered a good part of the neighborhood. DD1 got a little cranky about it 1/2 way through, so we dropped her off at home. Just as well. We really don't need any more candy in the house. I have a ton left!

I have to get on the ball. DD2's birthday is at the end of the month and I haven't planned a thing yet. I know where we will have it, but I haven't called to make the reservation. Why do I procrastinate so?

Have a fabulous day!!

Hey kids -

Need to catch up on yesterdays thread, but it sounds like a there is good news for Prae. Halloween had its ups and downs here. We took all the kids trick or treating even though the little one was still not in the best shape. He did OK, but was really tired at the end. Anticipating this, we had brought the wagon and I ended up lugging him around. The other two did fine until the end when my 8 YO ran out in front of a car even though me and Mrs Tim were yelling "STAY STAY STAY" - he was in a rush to get home by 8 so Mrs. Tim could tape Kid Nation. He did not get hit, but too close of a call - needless to say, there was no taping, and there will be no TV for him for a while. DS#2 made it till about 3:30 last night before he woke up from coughing, best night of the week.

Running - Started November with a east 10 K. October was an improvement from Sept, but nothing near where I was pre back spasms in August.

October - 73.6 miles in 12:24:08, 10:06 pace
Sept - 17.1 miles in 2:44:06, 9:35 pace
August - 130.7 miles in 23:52:49, 10:57 pace

For the year - 788.2 miles, 11:17 pace

Good morning folks. Hopefully everyone survived their halloween festivities last night!

We had no trick or treaters, but I heard of a creative little girl (from the radio on the way in.) Apparently she hit up one of the DJ's houses. She rang the doorbell, and shen they opened it, she immediately fell to the ground. When asked what she was for Halloween, she said "Marie Osmond from Dancing with the Stars!"

Maples - are there any frozen snickers left?

Got 2.5 run on the Tm last night, with another .5 walked. It's slow progress, but it's progress, and I feel great this morning. Hoping for a repeat tonight.

Prae - Woohoo! Grats on the job, woman!

I got nuffin else this morning.

Good morning!

I slept in and only had time to get 5 miles done. It was really frosty out there this morning.

DS had a blast yesterday. He met up with one of his little friends and all they wanted to do was run around the neighborhood. They didn't even want to go to any houses for treats! Here are a few pics. Forgive me if you can't see them, I'm still new at posting pics:

[/IMG]

[/IMG]

[/IMG]

We had over a hundred trick-or-treaters. I missed quite a few while I was taking DS around. A neighbor said she had 250 treat bags prepared and she ran out. We saw a lot of teenagers, but they were polite (i.e., I didn't get egged this year) and most of them had some semblance of a costume on. The last bunch came at 9:40. Six were dressed as Santa and one as Austin Powers.

Congrats on your finance exam, Mary McT! Excellent job! I just sent my application to begin studying for my professional accounting designation - similar to a CPA designation.

LSU Tiff, you look like you should still be in high school. Congrats to Prae and tortlet.

How in the heck did it get to be November already?

QOD - where does everyone go for the holidays? Holiday travel among my multiple family locations is always is negotiated in our family. Sometimes it can be a downright pain in the arse.

For the philly/south jersey peeps - we will be in Moorestown for Christmas so maybe we could put together a holiday fun run?

Qod we travel for either Thanksgiving or Xmas downstate. We spend the other one at home. I spent one Thanksgiving eve in the car for 7 hours in a snowstorm driving to the Thumb. The trip is usually 3 hours. Never again will I do that, so we watch the weather and change plans accordingly.
