Glad to hear you made in safely, Tim. I'm sure you're tired after the long trip...

Good morning, all. First of all, fort hose who may have missed it last night, I posted a race report from my 5k yesterday in the Race Reports forum here.

I got a phone call at 11:00pm last night from my mom. Maggie and I were already asleep by then, and I know that's also past my parents' bedtime, so it couldn't have been good news. My mom said that she had just gotten home from the hospital, where she had been all day with my dad! Apparently he had tossed and turned the entire night before with some abdominal pain. When he finally got up yesterday morning and tried to eat something, he threw it up almost right away. And that's the point at which they figured they'd better go to the hospital. They were there for over 12 hours! during which time my dad underwent a zillion tests (X-Ray, Cat scan, ultrasound, etc) and they still couldn't tell exactly what was wrong. They think it's something to do with his gall bladder, but they'll have to run more tests today to be sure. He finally got admitted and he spent the night there.

My mom says it doesn't seem like an emergency and that my dad isn't in any pain any more. And that's why she didn't call until she got home from the hospital. But geez, it's still a little unsettling. I can't go there today, but I'm gonna take tomorrow off from work and go to CT to see them for the weekend. My dad is an older guy (he's 85!) and any time someone his age is in the hospital -- especially with a problem that stumps the doctors for more than 12 hours -- it's gotta make you a little nervous...

Since you folks are all so good at sending out the healing vibes, please send a few his way, eh? Thanks...
