Ah, bonus day of starting the thread. I'm on the layover in Doha, Qatar. Currently camped out in the biz class lounge. And thank God for that or we'd be in a cattle line trying to get pre-cleared by US Immigration.

So,I can see a McDonalds from here. It's about 500 yards away on the other side of the road that is the perimeter of the airport. But, for my purposes, it's in a whole nother country. Just to get over there to get a supersized number one would require me to go downstairs, get through immigration and customs. Then repeat in reverse for departure. I've never wanted a Big Mac meal so bad in my life and I can't get to it. Oh well, that'll be stop #1 outa Dulles when we land back on US Soil!

I have eaten at the Margaritaville in Orlando [a couple of times] and the one in Las Vegas. It's a fun atmosphere. The food is pretty good, but not spectacular or anything. You go there for the Buffet tunes and drinks, munch the food if you're hungry. Sometimes they have live bands that cover Buffet songs and similar type songs.

Winter - I did go to bed, right after I posted the bra question. I'm reading the responses now.

Hey everyone.

Leaving in a few hours for Cape Cod, where I will be without a computer.

Oh, and without air conditioning. Have I mentioned that? Ugh.

I do hope to get some nice long walks in and to return without any extra poundage. I did go to the gym for half an hour of elliptical and weights yesterday.

Have a great week, everyone!

It was a great feeling run aside from the humidity. Just a shortish long run for me today during this recovery week, went 4.6 miles in 50:43. For the first time ever, I got to pass someone, a walker who had been coming towards me, then he turned left at the intersection I would turn right at. So there's this jump in the heart rate for that split as I worked on catching him and then passing. Time to relax a bit, take a shower, and then work on some things.

Hey Doc, when it's this humid such that the sweat just sits on the skin, is it all right to lick the sweat off to recoup the moisture and salt?

morning peeps.

It's damn hot here. Nuts. Really having a hard time getting motivated. I need to go for a run. Esp since I just ate leftover brithday cake for breakfast (what? I didn't eat most of the frosting.) I got home nice and early last night and then proceeded to waste 2+ hours on the internet looking for nothing important.

So, I will run today. Eventually. 2-3. Really. I promise. I might just go to the Y to get them in.

DH is away and I actually miss him. Usually I look forward to having the house to myself for a few days (since it's rare he's away on his own), but I'm feeling kinda lonely (and well, ya know--let's just say I'm going to get some gatorade for his return.)

Maybe Saturday is the new Friday?

Safe travels Tim...

Happy working Cactus and Kini.

Hi PT, I see you there...

Only if she's really hot. Otherwise, it's just gross.

Hi Everyone--

A rough few days--won't go into it--I have a better perspective today.

DF is out of town, too and last night I missed him alot! Today I'm thinking that since it's going to be rainy, it's time to completely re-do one of our rooms by stripping wallpaper and pulling up carpeting.

Easier to ask forgiveness than permission...

I haven't checked the cal-en-dar (racing one, not 30's men sexilicious one) to see who's racing.

I am not, but have a long run today; better skeedaddle before it storms!

Boobs--Running bras ARE essential I just got a cool black one--sexy and functional. Not that anyone will see it, though, I never take my shirt off. Just the idea that I could makes it fun.

Tim- SAFE trip home; can't wait to hear your trip summation!

Baggs--I'm still totally mad that you are visiting our friend Eddie. Tell him I think he's hot when you see him.

Morning all. Going to try to complete c25k w7 this morning. Got a nice phone call last night. I was offered the chance to help with a tailgating radio broadcast at the home Ole Miss games. I wouldn't be the "on air" personality but would drive to the radio station, grab all the gear, drive to the grove (tailgating area on campus), set up the equipment, perform the engineer duties while the radio guys do their thing. Then afterwards I pack the equipment and take it back to the station. He said it's about 3 hours (2 hour show) worth of work. The pay is VERY tempting. This could also open a few doors in other ways. He said if I was comfortable being on the microphone the hosts could use me to talk with them and go interview fans and sponsors. That part would have me nervous but my ego probably would squash that in time. LOL He (radio station manager) offered to help me the first few games to see if I liked it or could handle it. I think I will take him up on his offer for the first couple of games.

The show is 4 hours before the game starts and ends 2 hours before game time. I would then have to break down the equipment and take it to the station, then come back to the stadium press box and get ready for the game (I am stats guy for radio broadcast). I'm sure the time would fly but my "game day" just got 4 hours longer heh. The money the manager is offering is almost enough to quench any apprehensions I might have lol. He is paying a nice amount and he told me up front that the station is making a killing on that show due to it's popularity and thus the sponsors and that he basically doesn't want to do it himself. I know him and am flattered he asked. He also mentioned it was a door opening for possible radio broadcasts (not Ole Miss) such as the local community college team (which I have already been asked to help). This is somewhat a dream come true as far as getting my foot in the door with football or sports as a second job.

Well about to head out into the hot morning to jog. Also a nice day planned as my cousin is getting married tonight. In light of that my sis is driving down for the wedding and will have lunch at my parents house. It's always nice to have the entire family together.

I'll check back in after c25k with a brief report. My leg has been sore the last few days but I think it's more old age than injury lol.

Student just emailed me at my work account; NEEDS to talk to me at 8 a.m. this morning. Something about not turning in something and something at something something and they are frantic.

Huh. That doesn't sound good. Should probably respond to that.

Big blotch of yellow on the weather radar means I will be probably looking at a TM run this a.m. UGHHHHHH.

Later, Gators.

ETA: Roo. Mat and Chris are brothers?? Same here. I painted the dining room orange and thought he was going to rupture something. It looks great, though and he likes it now, but he also grew up in either a white or beige house; much of ours still is. He freaks every time I want to change something but it's always fine and he always contends that I may just know a thing or two after all. As this space will become my office, it's mine, tho!

Morning all.

Happy Weekend.

Nice 6 mile run late last night as the sun was starting to go down. It was still warm but not unbearable. Run was good except for the part where the shirtless West Chester College XC dude with less body fat than Tom blew by me at some ungodly pace. Today is rest day. Long run planned for tomorrow early.

No big plans this weekend. Just plan on trying to stay cool, probably by the pool most of the time.

It seems a new pair of shoes might have been the cause of my quad pain. Last week I stopped wearing the new pair of Nike Equalon+ I had got about a month ago my leg feels 100% better. Now the thing that pisses me off is the fact that the running store guy recommended them to me. I wear stability+ shoes. The Nike Equalon+ is a motion control shoe but the guy told me they consider them a stability+ shoe based on their design and that I should give them a try. They felt very good, even on runs but I'm thinking they were the cause of my pain. Live and learn I guess.

Re: JB's restaurant's - we have a "Cheeseburger in Paradise" near us. Been to it twice. It's decent and always jammed packed. They always seem to have an hour wait, which is one of the reasons we don't get there often.

If so, happy almost Birfday (unless today is the actual day - then it is just plain happy B'Day).
