Oh yeah, Maples, it all comes down to heart rate. EQ could probably provide you and interesting chart or two with his detailed data.
Just checking again... Wow, it's gotten hot out there. I'm darn glad I got my run in this morning. No way I could do 15 out there now...

I think I need another nap...
Well, I'm getting ready to head to my brother's to watch some UFC pay-per-view. I'm just staying there and going to my niece's first birthday party tomorrow.

So I'll probably not be checking in. Everyone have a great rest o' the weekend!
A part of the Beer Mile story is posted up on the PRT.....

http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10082
So after my slightly less then successful run this AM, I have been out in this swelter all day - yardwork, and it is the first weekend of Pop Warner games, so I got to work a little snack bar, keep coolers for the kids stocked with ice, etc. Oh, and Aunt Flow is visiting Mrs TIm. Long day.

I do have beer and cheesecake.
Good afternoon everyone.

Diane, Beth, Kp, McT, Cactus, Keriksen, Moon - thank you all for your positive comments. I actually felt pretty good during almost all of the run. I was doing my cool down walk afterward and contemplated running a little further after my heart rate dropped but decided not to push it.

PhillyTom - Have a great vacation.

Moe - Feel better soon.

Litch - Sorry your run was so bad. I hope the rest of your day is better.

Map - congrats on the run today. I can see how cooler weather would allow you to run faster/further. Heat takes a lot out of a person.

McT - congrats on the 5 mile run. WTG!!!!! You have earned that beer.

Crane - I hope your vertigo gets better soon.

Myron - sorry your race did not got well.

Tim - congrats on the great run.

Diane - Sorry to hear about the stressful brunch. I say 130 is late enough to start drinking on a Saturday. Go for it.

Keriksen - Have fun at the game tonight.

Hey folks.

Been a good day. Got to the body pump class just in time. The first time we went, there was actually a sub instructor there and my friend and I were in major pain the next couple of days. This lady isn't quite as intense. After Tues.' class-nothing. I'm curious if I'll feel anything tmrw. I doubt it's a "your muscles got used to it" thing since I've only been there 3 times now. Guess we'll see tmrw!

Didn't run today, though. Just couldn't face the heat nor the TM.

Great job on all those long runs (despite any carp or other acts of nature!)

Myron- sorry the race wasn't everything you expected. You're still an amazing runner in my book!

Well, I've got 8 planned for the morning. Longest run since the Pig. Haven't ventured into this training rhelm (sp?) in a long time. And I'm meeting Quixotic Notions from KR there! How fun!! I'll let you all know how we get on. I think she's far from a 30, though! Still a few years to go.....

Well, I'm falling asleep as I type. Went to a pool party this afternoon/evening. Had a nice time chatting, swimming and drinkin'! Am definitely tired enough to hit the hay at ths poinl.

Nighty night!!!

mandy, this is a great excuse for shoe shopping! ok, so i'm more granola-crunchy than all get out, but what about chacos? i have a pair in red and they actually look pretty cute with the wrap skirt i wear to work.
Evening folks

Not much to report here. Had family pics taken today. Didnt get to go go-kart racing last night as the practice session was cancelled due to some asshat vandalizing some things at the track.

Got a txt msg from Bard first thing this morning letting me know she finished the Crim race. She said the humidty was pretty brutal.

May try to get on and get some miles in on the bike tomorrow morning. All depends on if things quit feeling cranky by the time I get up in the morning

kini big ups to you on getting your 3 mile run in, great job!
Asthma isn't better (maybe worse). Plus I'm sneezing. F&ck.

Oh, and I just spent the last half hour washing Penny in de-skunk stuff. Double f&ck.

I got new golf shoes today. Spent more than I wanted, but they are nice. I also bought kick-ass black patent leather 4" platform slingbacks marked down to $36. Those make up for the wheezing and the skunking.

Congrats to all runners and racers this weekend...I don't think I'll be running tomw.
Thanks Frankie. Sorry to hear you did not get to do the go-kart racing. That sounded like fun.

Sorry to hear your Asthma is not doing any better. I suffer from it too and I know how bad it can be at time.
I would love to find an excuse to visit MN again and meet more 30's folks.

Nice race and sounds like it was hard-earned. Nicely written race report as well. (I tried to post as a reply to your RR, but KR seems to have crashed.)
My folks are at that game. Hope you have (had?) a great time.
I'm going to get to go to a Phillies game today. It's disappointing that they lost yet again last night, they really needed to win 2 of 3 from the Padres and now they'll just be trying to salvage one today. Aye yi yi. Looks like it's going to be yet another season without any postseason. So many freaking injuries this year.

At least it's not supposed to be quite so incredibly hot and humid as yesterday.
Morning!

Up to get out for my 8 miles this morning. It rained last night (yes! seriously! I'm not kidding! Real, wet rain!) and it's slightly cooler. Wind was blowing before the storm. I was wishing I could have run last night.. but that whole I was drinkin' thing again!

Gonna be my first LR with someone else. We'll see how it goes! I hope I'm not too slow for her. I hope it stays cool. I would like some reward for making the effort of getting up super early on a Sunday when I'd rather sleep in!

Has anyone seen about the hindu temple that is the largest outside India built in the US? It's on the news right now. That's across the intersection from where I grew up and where my parents live now. FUnny how they selectively show the temple without showing the walgreens next door or the grocery store across the street or the run down gas station on the other corner!! A LOT of trees were killed for that place. Used to be a nice green area and to be honest, the road is just a one lane suburban neighborhood road that's not prepared to handle the traffic!

Ok, time to get ready! Hope the baseball games were fun! I couldn't even tell you how the Braves are doing this year. I don't think they will be in any post season, either.

Do we have any good friends here from Indiana who happened to buy a Powerball ticket? If so, I'd like to emphasize the good friend part and talk with you privately...

Have a good one, everyone! I'm off to run 6 today and we'll see how that goes.

Hope your 8 was good, Beth and good for you on your run, Kini!
i dunno what those are. i have to have something that doesn't cover my toes.
i got this split personality thing going in my dress... either very urban and smooth... or what my mom calls my 'frustrated hippy thing' she hates my doc martins... its the alaska influence i think....
Good morning to you all. I was soooooo exhausted last night, I fell asleep at about 9:30pm. And thus of course I woke up around 6:00am this morning. So be it. Today's the baby shower... I'm not sure what I'm going to be doing while it's going on, but I'll figure it out.

Have a great day, everyone...
