Hi everyone and I am so tickled to see that people here have been wondering about me and the relay.

Brandy and other MN peeps my final leg (4.2 miles) was all right along Shepard RD on the running/biking path. I actually started on what was Warner Rd I guess, right before it turns into Shepard.

for the record, Brandy, had you seen my in my last 4.2 mile stretch you would have seen a guy fighting a battle for survival..I was in trouble 1 mile into it.

gang it is going to take me a few days to put my thoughts together (and recover) so i can write a run report, but let me just say this falls in right behind my first marathon in terms of amazing experiences in my life.

I am pretty sure 2oh said he has one lined up this fall, man all I can say is do not underestimate how freakin hard it will be and more importantly how freakin great it will be.

the numbers

I was runner 9 of 12.

first leg started at 6:30pm-
7.9 miles (rated as Hard by the race people)-finshed in 62 minutes and change (7:51 pace I think)...Toughest 8 miles I have ever run...the elevation map showed it would be tough hill wise, but I had no idea.

second leg-started at 5:21am (2 hours of sleep)
5.0 miles (rated as moderate), I freakin crushed-37:10 (like 7:27 mile).

third leg at 1:50pm (took a 10 minute nap)
4.2 miles rated as east, I ran it in 32:06 (like 7:41 pace I believe). The route was dead flat, but I was in trouble the whole way. Mentally I fought the desire to pack it in and run 9 min/miles and each mile was slower than the one before it, I but I never quit fighting. I distinctly remember at one point thinking about Voo's advice for Doc when he was hurt and said out loud to myself...Cowboy the F$CK up Dom, you got 11 other people out there who need you.

If you can ever be a part of one of these relays gang, you gotta do it.

may not get back online much today, but will be around tomorrow.
