Morning kiddies -

No posting for me over NYD, but I was reading the thread. No run for me today. I ran a 4 mile race yesterday in less than ideal conditions - hilly and slushy. I had 1-2" of fresh snow on the ground when I left my house. By the time I got to the course, it had turned to rain. My time sucked, which should not bother me because of the conditions, but it does.

I had planned 5 easy recovery miles today, but I have been dealing with some achilles tendonitis and I could barely walk to the alarm clock this AM. The acilles is one of the reasons I have been lacking in motivation lately - I had my back issues in late summer\fall, which are still at the nagging level, and now my achilles is bothering me, even with reduced mileage of late. Ironically, it is OK when I run, but after resting, and especially first thing in the AM, it hurts lots. So in the evenings, I spend time every night stretching out my back, my calves, and icing my achilles. One of the things I like about running is the simplicity of it, but with my evening routines, it is not as simple as it used to be.

Sorry to be whiny and self centered.

Lots of good races and runs over the holiday - Myron, Baggs, Pacer, etc. Hope you all have a great year of running ahead!
