Anyways, this is a really cool site. I haven't been here in awhile, but I know there are some great people who used to post in CR a long time ago, were forced to move here because of the idiot trolls on CR. Some inspiring runners for me.<br><br>
Well recovery week is in full effect. I'll drop down about 20 miles from the 110 I did last week. Eek that's a lot of miles. But I'm feeling good.<br><br>
So Trevor, what kind of mileage are you doing over the summer now that you qualified? What sorts of speedwork you doing? I was looking at a couple running logs to get ideas.<br><br>
I think I'm going to follow the Pfitz philosophy of doing tempo/strides for speed the first half of the training cycle then switching over to the 5k interval stuff. I think that the tempos are good and easier on the body when building up mileage.

I'm here. I don't know what I'm doing here, but I thought I would check it out since all the cool kids are doing it. Peer pressure, It's worse than advertising.

As one of the original Kick users from back in the past (when I used to be a 30!), can I say hello and welcome to all the offspring who are very, very welcome here - Hope you stay a while, and enjoy this site as much as CR was once enjoyable.<br><br>

I'm keeping my mileage pretty much the same as my last cycle - peaking at around 80-85 mpw - my body starts to hate me if I do much more than that. This week will be 70 something, then 80 or so for the next two weeks after that.<br><br>
Beginning in mid-July I'll start up with the sppedwork. I'm actually taking the opposite approach as Pfitz - shorter, harder intervals to start (something like 10 x 1,200m @ 6:00/mile - 3 minutes between reps), then graduating to longer intervals (1 or 2 miles @ 6:30/mile with 30 seconds to 2 minutes between reps) and shorter tempos (up to 6 miles) and the finally to longer tempos (6-15 miles) at either tempo or my goal marathon pace (which is TBD) depending on the length.<br><br>
I imagine you are well into your training plan with an early October marathon coming up?

I'm just fine with having the thread move over here. Initially, it probably means less lurkers changing into 30's for a while since there's less traffic here. So if we have some attrition in membership it will probably be difficult to keep the numbers up over time.<br><br>
But there are a lot of great things here, more than I've been able to take advantage of over the last few months. I think I learn a couple of new features every week still.<br><br>
Just so everyone knows, the site is a labor of love for the admins and there are only two who can approve new members, so please be patient if they don't get back to your requests immediately as they have to pay the bills with real jobs!
