Two pics of the fast people....one for the ladies and one for the guys.

Or whichever you prefer, because there is nothing wrong with that!

They were both flying....running ~46mins for 7 miles.

Hey, all. Ugh, all this hacking is getting annoying. I tried to post from my parents' house in CT but couldn't get into the site. Don't those losers have anything better to do with their time??

Anyway, I'm back in NJ. It was great to see Maria, Baggio and Brandy at the New Haven 20k. Results are in, here. I finished at 1:42:22, which is exactly 4:00 faster than I was last year. So it's a PR, and I'm happy with it.

I think everyone else got a PR as well... but maybe that's only because none of them had raced a 20k before. I ran with Maria for about 3 miles before she got too fast for me, and as she said, she finished with a 1:41:10. Baggio finished with a 1:34:48 and Brandy with a 1:50:46. (I hope they don't mind me posting that). Pretty good times considering the amount of booze they say they'd been drinking these past few days...

All in all, it was a good day. The weather was beautiful, and the beer afterwards was free. Guys, I apologize once again for saying it was a flat course and you disagreeing with me. Again, I live in a town called "Summit", and New Haven seems flat compared to what I'm used to...

I took a couple BobCam shots, but not many. I'll try to get them posted soon. I realized that the four of us never got any shots together. Oops. Oh well...

Ugh, the long weekend is almost over. I hope everyone has had a good one...

Happy Labor Day gang ( or whats left of it for many of you )

Not a whole lot going on around here. Heading over to my FIL's for pork chops for dinner later on. Needing my wife to get off her laptop and bring it over her so I can transfer my CD list over to the laptop from the pc and burn my disc for the swap.

No running over the long weekend for me. Just couldnt drag myself out of bed to do it. That and I was on daddy duty first thing each day, ugh.

Great job to all of you who go out and ran long, fast times and such.

Winter nice cut ( and beautiful blue eyes ). Love the cactus in the back ground. Just doesnt quite fit in with the idea of being in Canada

Ok, as I head off for 4-5 miles in the heat of the day... I pose this question to those of you who play in the VRAA...

How does one get involved in the VRAA? I know there was one that was started August 3 - does that mean a new competition will start soon? If so, how do I throw my hat in the ring?

I'm not really sure whether that'll actually be my long run for the week. This is the last big-mile week of training on my schedule. I may have to go out of town this weekend, so I started thinking why not do a 20-miler today, since I was off, just in case. If not, I'll do another, hopefully 20+, this weekend.

So I'm basically treating this as a midweek medium-long run.

Very nice PR, Bob! Kinda blasted that one outta the water! And it doesn't surpise me Marier got too fast for ya. She's freakin' moving these days!

Btw, nice race, Maria. And as well to Baggs and Brandy!

I'm going to be a bit absent for while. It has already started actually, but I just have a lot going on right now:

-I'll be volunteering at the Chicago Marathon office this week (and I'll be doing a lot of marathon-related volunteering in the weeks to come).

-The week after that I start working at that job that I didn't get not so long ago. Apparently, the really did like me and made a position for me! The first couple of months are still temp though and it's not guaranteed that it will become permanent, but that's the way it should go if everything goes well.

I am still in for Philly and if you need anything just shoot me an e-mail.

Also, Winter is really freakin' hot! Ouch!

Bigtime congrats to:

Nettie, the New Haven Crew, Pacer Chris, and the person who invented Guiness, oh and Dr. Chris for posting pics of Guiness.

I went out for what should have been 4-5 easy miles... instead I didn't wear my HR monitor, and just ran the way I felt like running... probably a bit too hard... 4.25 miles in 31:59 so about 7:30 pace. I ran in my neighborhood, but created a new loop. I also figured out how to twist this ~4 mile loop into a 6 mile loop, so more running possibilities Yay!

Greetings from Hilton Head!

Didn't get up early enough for a run but I probably needed a rest day after yesterdays anyway.

We headed to the beach today then to The Wreck of Salty Dog for dinner and lots of drinks. I had a rita, a hurricane, and a planters punch. Had a nice buzz going on that is for sure.

Here are some pictures, please excuse my post beach stylings...
