Mornin' all!!

Stuck at work all night. Such is the life of a schlub (sp?) who is going on vacation. Yep. You heard me. Tuesday - at the crack of dawn - we are catching a flight to Cabo. Of course, they are predicting clouds and isolated T-storms for the first 3 days we are there. too bad. I am having fun, and no one is stopping me.

While the scanner was doing its thing (I am taking a couple of files with me - on a flash drive), I was able to catch up on a few of the threads. You folks are a chatty crowd these days.

Hope all your races went well this weekend. I will follow the thread for a little while - assuming there are replies at this GAWDAWFUL time of day, then will try to check in again tonite.

Be well!!

Wasn't it Eddie Murphy that said he could tell when gay men were looking at his @ss because it would get hot. I guess the same kind of thing huh?

Does it work the same if I take a mental picture and look at that?
Okay, must buy darker/more mirrored/x-ray proof sunglasses.
hmmm

I think that women share the 6th sense. . . But, you're right, you just know.
Fly by......

Alicat- I'm with you me likey snakes.

Doc Chris - no Worries, no chance of someone mistaking you for 'good'. heh.
Yeah, gotta love the doomsday runners/non-runners. I think my dad is waiting for me to crash.
On a similar note, I have a pretty strong competitive streak, but try to set it aside when I run a race. I always run against myself - everyone else is there for drafting/motivation/entertainment only. Anyway, I have a had a few mid-race "I've been trying to catch you for the past (x) miles", or, post-race "I tried to catch you for the last (x) miles". Say that to me mid race and you just made yourself a target (I too can draft). I'll usually take the bait.
Say that to me post-race and all I can think is that I hope my dust (and snot, spit and pharts) tasted good....heh
Cactus, a guy at the Y once told me that African-American women shouldn't run marathons because it made it harder for us to date African-American men because we wouldn't have the time to do something or some such nonsense. I was like oooo-k.
Okay, since I got some people thinking about Spring '08 marathons... Here are the ones I've seen mentioned, plus a couple others that I have on my list to do someday... Just throwing these out there as food for thought...

Napa Valley Marathon, Mar 2
L.A. Marathon, Mar 2
ING Georgia Marathon, Mar 30
Salt Lake City Marathon, Apr 19
Boston Marathon, Apr 21
Country Music Marathon, Apr 26
Green Bay Marathon, May 18
Fargo Marathon, May 19

Anyone have any comments on any of these?
I could be easily talked into any of the maybes above.
You know what... Maybe the idea of Spring '08 marathons deserves its own thread. There's always so much bibble babble going on here in the daily thread, and this is a topic that's looking so far into the future. I'm sure it'll take many many days to get everyone's opinions on a possible 30s meet-up for next spring, so maybe it'd best to keep all those posts in one place. I'll start a new thread...
Ahem. . .Duluth. . .(I've got 9.5 acres, 3 bathrooms and a river. . .)
Nettie - did I miss what the doctor said?
Um yeah, I posted it in The Sideline. It's not a stress fracture is the short story.
oh good. I'll look over there - but I appreciate the update!
Ahem...Boston...(I've got nothin...but it's a cool city)

Nettie...run as a charity runner!
Having to raise money would drive me insane!!!!!
Probably yes on CMM, close enough to not need a hotel. (Nettie and Timr I didn't know this earlier this year, sorry.)

What no random Alabama marathon?
I'd love to do a marathon in Alabama. List some.
HH - I'll definitely be in Boston as will Pacer Chris. I'll assume that at least a few more will be joining us.

Hmmm...Speaking of Alabama marathons, I'd do the Mercedes Marathon just for the phat Mercedes schwag.
Oooh that marathon does sound nice and it's in February. ooooooh!
That's little sis #2 though it looks like it could be me from that shot. What you don't see is her very red hair and lack of the 35-40 lbs. I have on her. BTW, meeeeeow on that picture submission for the 30s calendar.

Oh, KP & Tonya, just got around to checking out your trip pictures - very cool shots!
