Mornin' all!!

Stuck at work all night. Such is the life of a schlub (sp?) who is going on vacation. Yep. You heard me. Tuesday - at the crack of dawn - we are catching a flight to Cabo. Of course, they are predicting clouds and isolated T-storms for the first 3 days we are there. too bad. I am having fun, and no one is stopping me.

While the scanner was doing its thing (I am taking a couple of files with me - on a flash drive), I was able to catch up on a few of the threads. You folks are a chatty crowd these days.

Hope all your races went well this weekend. I will follow the thread for a little while - assuming there are replies at this GAWDAWFUL time of day, then will try to check in again tonite.

Be well!!

Mornin' Gang!

Good Racing Theia and Congrats to Mr. Theia!!!

Happy Monday - I think. . .

Took yesterday off from exercise, stayed in my pajamas and read HP. It was a lovely way to spend a rainy Sunday.

Today's a swim at lunch and a run after work - looking forward to stretching my legs a little.

Got to the running store in town on Saturday, learned there that on Tuesdays up at one of the local little lakes they have an OWS followed by a bike! Perfect! So, Wednesday we're bringing DH's bike in to get it tuned up and then next Tuesday we're going to the training session together! (We'd go tomorrow but we have a dinner date. . .priorities you know. . .)

Hope everyone's Mondays go well. Happy Vacation to you GoV!! (and yeah, Cabo sounds like a good place to get a topless pic of yourself. . .)

And, speaking of topless pics. . .Tonya, looks like your sweetie has a little bit of the devil in him, very nice girl!!

Kinda makes Doc sound like a whiner with the bad shoulder, don't it?!

Got in 8 miles this morning - I can't get over how awesome the weather has been the last few days! It's actually kinda bad - I was hoping to get used to training in horrible heat and humidity and then 60 degrees in San Fran would feel like a dream for the marathon on Sunday - but I ain't complaining.

Still jacked up fro Padraig Harrington winning the British Open - victory for Ireland!!

I wonder if Theia's tri is up in Lake Placid - maybe like a family and kids' race the day after the Ironman?! All this tri talk has me thinking - I have been wanting to sign up to do a long distance duathlon next month but now I'm thinking why not just do the tri? Who cares what my swim time is - I know I can make the cut-off easily. We'll see - I still have to get permission for this one!
Do this with the stroller and I'll be impressed.
You guys had better watch out. All this talk about triathalons has me thinking I might want to try it some day. Right now, I can't tell you the last time I swam anywhere. So if you guys get me to try a tri and I drown during the first leg, my death will be on your hands!

Hey, what's the latest with Philly? What's the head count up to? I've officially registered, but I haven't booked any accommodations yet. Maggie has decided not to join me (it'll be the first marathon that she won't attend with me) since our daughter will be about a month old at the time, and travelling with an infant might be annoying. So I'll be solo. And since I'm a cheapskate, I don't relish the idea of paying for a hotel room for just myself. Anyone want to split a room somewhere in downtown Philly?
Morning all! Will have to spend some time catching up on all the haps from the weekend; I couldn't keep up with the thread while at my parent's home. We did have a wonderful trip to STL and a great time at my neice's baptism. It's so fun having all your family around you, knowing we don't just hang b/c we're blood but rather b/c we're buds! Coupla wicked games of a$$hole nearly had some of my sibs missing the baptism yesterday morning; it's rough being beer wench too. Anywho, got some miles slated for today that I'll turn into a speed workout in prep for this weekend's HM. Will probably end up with about 10 for the day.

I've got loads of new pictures too; here are two of my favorites. First, pilates baby...

And one of the girl that could sleep anywhere. She crashed while sitting up...

The helicopter parents. Their hearts are in the right place, but they tend to stress their students even more than they already are. Plus, it's time to start cutting the strings and let the students learn how to manage their own lives.
i would Bob, but I don't think DH would like that.
Bob should just say he's splitting a room with Moe and you can say you're splitting a room with Bobbi.
Hi folks. Got in a early 5Mer this mornin'. Felt OK. Weekend was just being a homebody, doing yardwork and resealing my camping tent. The grass was so tall I nearly ran over a snake in my yard. It fled under my house, and I have no idea if it ever came out. It was a black snake about 4 ft long. Now I can't send the kids out w/out direct supervision. ugh.

It was probably a rat snake.

Hmmm...I wonder if the stroller has paddlewheel attachments for the swim portion...
Adorable pics, Maria

Yeah, I haven't hit the road yet...
Good weekend of running for me. 18 on Friday, 9 recovery miles on Saturday, 12 miles on Sunday morning with 5x800m intervals, 6 easy in the afternoon and 13 miles this morning. This morning's run was tough. The humidity really came back and is going to stay here. I really never felt comfortable.

Saint Ralph - Absolutely love that movie. Watched it about a week before Boston this year.

ScratchType1 - That's a great improvement in a relatively short amount of time.
nice pics Maria.

good morning, thread.
Yeah, I won't tell if you won't.
Hey all:

Congrats to the racers - Scratch, Bob, and Pacer.

I thought about racing Sunday but opted for the long run instead. Between Sat and Sunday I did 27+ miles on trails and jeep roads and saw... one jeep. These trails really are in the middle of nowhere. I love the GPS maps that I get when I'm done.

Great job to Andrew on an IM. Inconceivable! (Does that mean what I think it means?)

I do think that Theia's tri is today & in Lake Placid.
ugh- god- that snake picture is going to ruin my day. My feet are now propped up on top of my hardrive under my desk- I am petrified of them and whenever I see a picture of one am convinced it will jump off the screen and wrap itself around my legs. Ugh.
Good job to Mr. Theia!. Good luck Theiaon your tri!
glad the other weekend racers did well. Vandals- be careful about what you eat/drink. I am still not 100% from my Mexican vacation...have fun!
She's so beautiful, Maria!! (although my neck hurt lookin' at the second one. . . )

Scratch. . .you have a devious mind. I love it!
#1. I got two girls home from Wellfleet, MA to Buffalo, NY...luggage, lunch, ferries, planes, trains and automobiles. All on 2 extra strength tylenol! I bet that wuss who "finished the race" couldn't have done that!

Yeah. That was a little defensive.

#2. Good luck in SF.

#3. You could totally do the Tri.
Moe- there is a small chance I'll be making an appearance in Philly- and would need a roomate. Will keep you posted- not sure yet.
Mornin' all!!

Big ups to Andrew for another IM! Just boggles my mind. And good luck to Theia on her tri!

Marier, excellent photos! And I always thought being the asshole was the worst!

GoV, enjoy your time in Cabo. You definitely deserve a vacation.

I've actually seen Saint Ralph as well. Yep, definitely a cool little movie.

I may have to withdraw my praise for English Jason's wife for the beer system. That thing may be the death of me! Almost had to take a half-day today. And I really want to get a run in, but may not be looking forward to it too much. Maybe a nap at lunch will help.

I've been thinking about a tri as well. But I don't think I could find a swim cap large enough.
