Last minute shopping day for some. In my family, today's the traditional gathering together for dinner and presents day.

I'm glad this year it's happening and I won't be walking around unknown to me on a broken tibia. Hooray for normal mobility.

I second that Hooray! Have a great time with your family, Scratch!

I have only very lazy plans for the afternoon and evening....me, the BF, and our wonderful red couch. The Nap-o-matic....

Uh...that would be me.

My employer would have been fine with my taking a vacation day, but I missed so much time with the appendicitis and recovery that there's a lot of stuff that I just need to take care of.

There are 3 of us here, in an office that houses something like 100 people.

Anyhow, I may just work half the day. I have some make-ahead stuff to do for brunch tomorrow, and I have to be sure to pick up some champagne!!

But only til 1. I figure that by 1:02 I will be on my way home.

Everything is wrapped and ready to go. We have three snow tubes for the kids that I will be blowing up tonight. I did my research over the weekend for my present - Mrs Tim is getting me a digital SLR camera, but wanted me to choose. I ordered this (Nikon D40), should be here by next weekend:

Off to do some last minute shopping downtown then meeting DH for lunch. He is working today...we have it off.

Tonight we're going to my grandparents' for fish (as is traditional Italian). It's just gonna be us, my gps and my aunt...sort of a funny night. And we've never done this before...but it seemed like a nice idea.

Add me to the last minute shoppers today. Hey, walking counts as XT, right? Of course, the cookie-baking I intend to do counteracts any walking, since I have to taste-test. I'll be trying that Mexican cookie recipe that Moonie mentioned last week.

Tonight is when I'll attend my church services. I am in the choir and I always sing for Midnight Mass. I am in an understudy role for a solo this year. It is a beautiful song that combines "What Child is This" with a countermelody (the solo part). The original soloist lost her mother on Friday, and the funeral is this coming Friday. It's still hers if she wants it, but if she isn't up to singing it, I'll step in. I am thinking I may also go to the 8pm "Blue Christmas" mass, because my director still needs some vocalists for it and I have nothing else to do this evening.

Diane- bummer that you are working, but with so few of you there, you'll probably be much more productive than on a normal work day. That's how it is for me anyway.

Tim- nice camera!

Diva- I have a red couch too that is perfect for napping. In fact, I took advantage of that fact yesterday afternoon. Now all I gotta do is get a BF to snuggle with, and I'll be all set.

Hey gang! Gotta run out to Office Depot to pick up some ink cartridges and then stop for some wine. I should get moving ... I'm still sipping coffee and in my pj's.

Yep! Me too. Heading over to Dad's this afternoon for lots of family fun, gift giving and food. And jello shots

Great gift Tim!!!!! That's what I want. Maybe next year.

Bard, I didn't know you could sing!

I am currently at my parents. They aren't actually that far from me, but since I keep my car at their house now, it's not as convenient for me to get over here too much.

Moe - by "gps" did you mean grandparents? Cause it would have been strange for you to mean GPS, as in Garmin, though that's exactly what I thought...

I am having the best holiday week! I really think that the recent drama with my new SIL has actually given the rest of us incentive to really appreciate and enjoy all the time we're spending together as a family. Because we've been getting together since Saturday night and still have one more big event tonight! I'm making xmas dinner for xmas eve this year - there are bacon-wrapped apples involved and it should be fairly tasty all around!

Plus board games and free-flowing booze should make it a night to remember!

For those who celebrate a holiday this week - enjoy! - and for those who don't, I hope it's a nice relaxing few days!
