Morning

Good luck Maureen!!

Happy Canajun Thanksgiving!

Continued prayers to Jen.

The unending week of random celebrations/events is over. I'm very much looking forward to coming home after work and well, that's it! Coming home after work! I need to clean some around the apt and catch up on some DVR shows. I need to work in the LR I didn't do yesterday (knew that would not work out due to schedule). It's still going to be in the 80's here this week. Not sure how to do it! Oh and thanks for the comments on Sat. I'm very relieved that my crazy running around town for everything is over. I can now focus on something *I* need to do! Damn birthdays!

Sidenote- they're talking about the Chicago marathon on the Today show now.

Those of you lucky enough to get today off, be good!

Good morning folks, and Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian friends!

I saw the info yesterday regarding Chicago. Yeowza. Speedy recovery vibes go out to Maria & her sis. (and all the others who need them, as well.)

I got another 2.25 total on the TM yesterday, repeating the .50 running section. So far, so good with the ankle. I plan on trying it again tonight - maybe using a different pair of shoes, but with everything else the same.

Although I did find a rather comical moment later on that day. I was using an electric trimmer to trim the hedges outside. Apparently some hornets or wasps have built a nest in one of the bushes. As I lopped off some shrubbery, I took a step back to look at things, and saw one of the flying critters just ZOOM out from the bush. Then another. And another. By this time, I turned around, somewhat gently dropped the hedge trimmer, and I quickly found out that I "can" haul ass, if it's absolutely necessary!!! (while screaming some very unladylike things, I might add.)

Gotta jet.. will check in with you guys later!

QoD: Just for fun... anyone want to make official guesses as to when Bob and Maggie's bambina actually joins the world? I'm thinking along the lines of Oct 18th, 11pm.
yeah, that hurt yesterday...a LOT! I'll write a RR later but let's just say there are pacing gigs that make the time that look easy, and then there was yesterday!

Glad Maria is OK and hoping her sister is recovering. Dom - be proud of that finish, regardless of time - you earned it yesterday!
Buenos Dias, Guten Morgen, Good morning, or what have you. Watching lots of new about Chicago on TV this morning. All those poor people who got completely messed up by the heat. Wow, just wow!

I officially hate active.com! ActiveAdvantage just charged me for a full year membership after a 90 day trial with no warning. I'm trying to figure out how I can get out of it.
Good Morning everyone!

Apparently the rain is going hold off today so I can get outside for a run, otherwise I was going to hit the dreadmill since I blew off my running way too much last week.

I got a message from Maria last night that her sister was OK and they were chillin'. I hope that means she was out of the hospital but either way it looks like she's ok.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was nice, got a lot accomplished.

qod- I say BabyGator will be born on the 16th 4:20pm. I'll start a spreadsheet to keep track of everyone's bets.
Longish run on saturday. It was quite warm and dry. I realized halfway through that I didn't hydrate enough. But I felt ok in the end.

Wow...we had some pretty amazing runs in our group this weekend, didn't we! I hope Maria and her sis are ok...hope she checks in soon.
morning all...hope we'll be hearing that Maria and sis are recovering and doing well.

Props to any of you racing this weekend!

Good luck to Moe this morning in her 10k!

I just got off the plane in Baltimore for another two day trip. And I'm totally wiped from yesterday's 9 miles plus another portion of patio laid...

Ailairie, if only you could translate that adrenaline rush into painfree non-lifesaving runnng, right?!

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!

And a great work day to the rest of us (Columbus Day off? What a thought!
My post makes me sound like a Valley Girl, like, right?

QOD: I'm betting Oct 14, 11 am.
I was floored when I got Maria's text yesterday, ran to the computer and was amazed!!! Sending out good vibes to Maria and Jen and to everyone else who was out there yesterday, no matter where! Dom and Pacer glad you made it through, congrats to you both!! And Solar considering that was really a training run, you get big ups for sticking it out!

Best of luck to Moe today, hope you find a plan that will work for Philly!

Had a great weekend, got a million things accomplished for the house, unfortunaltey have a million more on tap!!! Had dinner with my in laws which was nice and got some quality R&R time.

Will check back in later, hoping for more news from Maria!!

QOD: I am guessing Oct 12th at 5:30am!!!
Morning folks -

More healing vibes out to Maria and her sister. The organizers at Chicago had a horrific situation on their hands, and I do not envy them. I was a race director for a small local race for about 5 years (~400 participants in 2 races), and EVERYTHING we did was focused on keeping the runners safe. Yesterday in Chicago, the medical staff was overwhelmed. I think they probably did the right thing, but they will also probably be facing tons of lawsuits. It was just ridiculously hot for October. You can't mess with Mother Nature.

Did not get any running in this weekend. 4 this morning. Still muggy here, predicting high temps in the mid 80's.

Big props to Dom - you are a trooper. Ditto for Pacer.

QOD - I was married on Oct 10 at 2 PM, so that is my guess for the boBlet.
For hose who didn't see the amazing finish of the men's race in Chicago here it is.

http://cbs2chicago.com/video/[email protected]

Here's the also exciting women's finish.

http://cbs2chicago.com/video/[email protected]
Morning. Glad to hear Maria's sis is out of the hospital. I didn't get to meet them last night, obviously, but I did get to hang out with some peeps from the PRT; I'll probably post up some pictures sometime this week.
Gee, no wonder my friend who was hanging out with Gh.arib asked me if I DVR'd it so he could see it. Of course, I had forgotten.
