Ok gang, its poll time.

Time to find out fort hose of you who showed interest, were you might be more inclined to go and try to narrow down a decision. For the most part, a 7 day Caribbean cruise runs the same in terms of price no matter which cruise line you go with. Im putting up 4 options.

The first being the western Caribbean

Departure/return ports being ( but not limited to ) Galveston, TX, Miami; Tampa; For Lauderdale and Port Canaveral, Florida to name a few.

Ports of call for the WC can be Montego Bay and Ocho Rios, Jamaica; Georgetown, Grand Cayman; Cozumel, Mexico; Belize; Honduras; Bahamas to name a few

2. eastern Caribbean

Departure/return ports Miami, Port Canaveral, Fort Lauderdale, Florida; NY, NY

Ports of call for the EC can be San Juan, PR; St. Thomas, USVI; St. Maarten, NA; Grand Turk; Bahamas; Dominican Republic; Tortola, BVI; St. Kitts, WI; to name several exciting ports of call.

3. Southern Caribbean

Departure/Return Ports primarily are Barbados; San Juan, PR; Dominican Republic; Fort Lauderdale and Miami, FL

Ports of call for the SC can be the same as the Eastern Caribbean and others such as Antigua; Grenada; Curacao; Martinique ( not too many cruise lines go there any more Beth ); Guadalope

4. Alaska

Departure ports generally are either Seattle, WA; Vancouver, BC, Canada; or Anchorage, AK

Ports of Call Glacier Bay: Vancouver, BC, Canada ; Juneau, AK ; Skagway, AK ; Ketchikan, AK ; Anchorage, AK

5. I dont care, just tell me when and were to show up and put a drink in my hand

FWIW...the cruise we intended to go on last month was Western Caribbean out of Miami. And it wasn't too spendy. Royal Caribbean.

I don't know if I'll be able to come, but since I've never been on any cruise, I don't really care where it goes.

Still, since some of my other friends also want to go cruisin' as a group, I intend to finally get a passport this year. Just in case, ya know.

If we go to Alaska, and I could talk dh into going, you'll have to drag us (me & DH) and HH back on to the ship at every stop. We'll probably forget to reboard because of the amazing photo ops!!

I'm not going to vote, since I have no idea if it would be possible for us. But an Alaskan cruise is at the very top of our list.

Sure. I'll document it via my 5 frames/sec camera, for posterity, you know.

Well after 6 days, it looks like the eastern Caribbean is the destination of choice. I dont have the list here at work of all of you folks who have potential interest in the cruise. Instead of taking up any more space on the board, Ill start emailing those of you who I have on the list to start getting things rolling on this.

When I've called inquiring about cruises I was always told that the hurricane season will sometimes destroy the ports of the Western Carribbean cruises. I'm glad Eastern is in the lead.

Oh, and do you have to bring anyone or can this be a solo trip?

Ill try to send out an email tomorrow to get an idea of when would be the best time for all of you to go.

As for hurricane season and the western Caribbean, you are correct the ports do tend to get torn up and or detroyed due to hurricanes. I saw what was left of Carnival's dock in Cozumel after a hurricane. THere wasnt much left of the original.

For you singles considering going, you are more than welcome. If I were single I would consider getting with a fellow 30 and sharing a cabin. The prices of the cabins are based on double occupancy. Just something to think about.

Just to make sure I have a current list of those interested in a cruise

brandy
Moe
kp & phdatc
VooDoo
Prae
Solar
LLCoolberg
Winter
Kini
boB
Beth
Theia
Beaker
Biah
Nettie
Maria
Daz
Moonie
McT
Clare

am I missing anybody?
