Ok, either today is a rest day for everyone or you all are more depressed than I am about my terrible date. We must move on guys!

Be back later!

Actually, I didn't sleep very well, what with worrying about what CoachT might say about me. So, I think I'd better just spill my guts and let the chips fall where they may. A preemptive strike, if you will.

I am very shy, and even somewhat uptight. I barely talk, in fact, and worry about being overheard. At one point, he said, "Relax! So the waitress heard you say 'darn'. That doesn't even count as a swear!"

What can I say? All the sugar in the Shirley Temples went to my head.

I feel better now.

Nettie, I read your date report and I don't find it an irreversible situation. He might just be unsure how to proceed from here. Hey, I had to cancel my first planned date with my DH because I had a funeral to go to. He thought that was the flimsiest excuse ever, but it was true. We got beyond that.

BigG, I have said this about your ex before and I'll say it again:

The only thing CoachT said is that you might have some pictures I, er, we might be interested in.

That's an excellent icon for BigG's ex!

Nettie sorry to hear about your date...hang in there. I agree with Diane. Hang in there.

Diane I'm sure you were lovely!!!!!

Big G Love to you. This too shall pass and you WILL get through this.

I got out for 3.5 east miles last night after baseball. Lots to do today, in-laws coming for the weekend. I'll check back when I can!

I'm missed so much here that I'm not even going to try to catch up (too many days w/o my laptop while traveling) and now I'm off for 2 weeks vacation. Was in Redding, CA earlier this week - my body does not do well running w/ temp at 102 outside (even if the humidity is low).

Fort Hose injured: hope you're on the mend soon!

Good luck to all the racers out there!

Positive vibes to all that need them!

I'm off to stormwater training - yippie!

Have a great day, all!

Well, I made it in to work. On time, even. I think I had 7 beers last night, which is the most I've had in a long time. Why in the hell did I have to do that on a Thursday??? I don't think I'm hungover, really. I'm just dead tired today... Ack.

No run for me yesterday. Beer and pizza was more important. I plan on doing a few east miles tonight; I just hope I can stay awake long enough to do that. Then I'll go for a long-ish run tomorrow (10 miles, maybe). We'll see...

There's probably stuff in last night's thread that I should go back and read, eh?

Sorry to hear about the bad date, Nettie. I don't know the details, but I'm sure he was a jerk anyway...

Have a great Friday, everyone...

yawnnnnnnnnn *rubs eyes* is it time to get up already mommie? *moan, stretch, grumble* Ok, better get ready for work. I have to go in 15 minutes early today. I have be at the Whirlpool plant before 8 am and sign up some new hires as part of a hiring incentive for Whirlpool. The State is helping pay part of their salary during training in return for Whirlpool hiring more people. It's really a great program, people get hired, the plant gets a financial break for a few months and I have a lot of paperwork to deal with. ......... erm, wait..... something in that last sentence didn't sound fun. heheh

Way to go on signing up for a Tri, Mary!
Hope the hip feels better soon, Amichel.
Great picture 2oh, which beach on LBI is it?
BigG, it will all work out in the end, no need to be sad or stressed.
Still have to read the Nettie date report so I can't comment yet.

Got up early today and headed into work so I can get out on time to get my hair done tonight. I brought my new kicks so I can test them out at lunch. Not sure if I'll be running or not but I want to be prepared. DH thinks I should take it easy one more day. We'll see. Getting nervous realizing the NYC Half is in like 3 weeks. I know its just a training race but I'm nervous just the same.

OK, gotta actually do some work. Laterz.

Hi Luvs!
Going for a couple on the TM. See how the feets feel. meh. Also got more yard work in store. Dang, Tito. Takes a long time to catch up when you haven't had time to play outside in 3 years.

Still haven't heard about the new gig. Terrance and Ass't Super are arguing about numbers. Seems there are 30 students who are going to be displaced.... Think at the least I got a 1/2 time position. I'll prolly take it as it would be easier to finish stoopid dissertation and not die and I want to be there. Terry thinks Ass't Super is wrong and that he'll get it worked out. We'll see....

Nettie: Maybe he's shy. Putting the moves on someone after you been married can be weird, I'd imagine. I been putting the moves on the same person for 14 years now. I'd prolly pee my pants if I were suddenly single and someone else tried to push up on me. Now that's sex-ay.

Sara: Good to see ya! Be safe on vacation!

Myron: It hurts, its over, its itchy, its cool. Better than piercing...which hurts, throbs, hurts some more and occasionally gets caught on your clothing during meetings with faculty and causes you to make patented Mandy Big Eyes for no apparent reason.

Soccer Boy: Naked or not, I don't think he's hot. In fact, naked just means more of him. ick. Just not my type. Wouldn't cause me to look twice in a bar. In fact, if he were in a bar in real life... I can just picture him being a stripe-y shirt wearing former frat boy.... ugh. that's just me though. continue with your naked soccer boy fantasies....

MORNING everyone

I am in early today because I am leaving early

I got in 15 last night after work. It was great for the first 13. I wasn't even keeping track of my pace per mile...just running comfortable and pow!! Low 9s for miles 2-12...wha? I am super tired today though.

I'll have to catch up on whatever happened last night on the thread.

Oh ...and no Philly for me. Vacation time and $$ are not going to allow it.

Ok -
Beckham - He's an attractive guy but I cannot stand the boy's voice. Drives me up the frickin' wall. And I don't know if those reports of the stupid things he says are true or not but if they are....I couldn't stand to be around him.

Posh - EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWw. I mean, I have seen pictures of concentration camp victims with a higher % body fat. It is just gross. I think she looks like a bird in every sense of the word. Now sporty....she's a cute one.

as long as we are talking about cute guys - I'll agree with Crane on the John Cusak and I'll raise you Hugh Grant - Especially in the following movies: About a Boy, Notting hill and Love actually...swoon

Hello all.
Nettie, sorry 'bout the bad date, I've been on more of those I can count - should you ever need a 'worse' story I've certainly got one..or seven, or seventeen..and no, I'm not exaggerating.

Mandy, I'm with you - frat boys don't turn my head either, unless it's to vomit out the car window as I'm driving away..
Blow some bubbles for Hank the Tank from me.

Busy day ahead for me, Word program exploded on my PC yesterday at the office, causing more stress than I care to admit, and about 4 hours of lost work. Gah. Not a happy camper, I will likely be paying for that over the weekend.

Running mid-day, if I can get something accomplished this morning.

Later kids, happy fridays to all of you and great runs too.

Also,
2 points for Nettie busting some Morris Day and the Time on a Friday. I once found myself in a small town bar with a jukebox with no soul music to speak of (think country and ACDC, right?) so I put 5 bucks in and played Jungle Love for all my choices. heh.
or wait.... maybe its wizard of OZ monkey boys....
either way cool...

Ok seriously! How all ya doing?

It's been absolutely beautiful here, however, we need RAIN, bad! agriculture is the bread and butter of this area and thousands of corn/beans acres are at risk right now.

Anyway...
Nettie Sorry to hear about the bad date!

Brandy- Did you think your comment about Philly would go unnoticed?

Amy- I must have missed something about your hip? Hope it feels better!

Diane- I am glad you and T-Rev got that out of your systems, now the both can go on your merry way!

I am in the office for 1/2 day today, so I may be able to keep up to post 200 but anything after that I am done!

Later!

ms mananda, bandaids help with those piercings. i'm jes sayin...

tim, i have a hard time with so many posts, too. i spent longer than i care to mention last evening, trying to catch up as far back as possible.

i'll second the sentiments that injuries suck. nothing worse than the *rest* of your body wanting to get out and do its thang, just to have a gimpy something-or-other holding the rest back. many folks here have successfully overcome injuries. you who are injured - be smart. heal well.

i'm having white pizza today with a couple folks who are dropping in on me for lunch. they both used to work here in the department, and we used to spend summers together doing what i'm doing now. i miss them both. can'twait!!

it's been beautiful here. i'm dragging my lame ass outside tonight for a run. can't waste this great opportunity.

just a question because i wasn't here when we all moved... what is our visibility like for new running posters? i mean, when we were in CR in the Newbies forum, we were highly visible. that's how we all met. now that we're our own club here, are new peeps gonna find us? i haven't been here long enough to have a real feel for it.

happy days to you all. and happy trails.
