Happy Friday to all! Anyone running today? I took yesterday off, but I have a few miles planned today as a warmup for tomorrow. I think I'll do about 15 miles tomorrow. Next weekend will be the last long run before I start to taper for the Mercedes, and I reckon I'll try for about 22...

Good luck to all the Disney folks! Anyone else racing? Oh yeah, the Icicle Run. Good luck to you guys, too!

Have a great day, folks!

Hey Bob.

Today will just be pretty much a rest day for me. Using Mondays and Fridays as complete rest days seems to work well.

Heading to the gym this morning for a cardio workout.

I've run seven days straight so I won't do that today.

Good Morning.

Good Luck to the Disney Racers this Weekend, Have Fun!!!!!!!!!!

I have 12 to get in today. I'm not sure if it'll be outside or on the 'mill. It's a little hot out already and the downhill work would be good for me, I'll see. Running outside is sure a heck of a lot more fun, though.

I did email the guy who leads the "gflrcc" Sunday runs and he got back to me. I guess he is a "coach" as well and a bunch of them are headed to Disney this weekend. I might just show up Sunday and see who is there, if not for sure next week. They do a Wednesday evening track workout which would be good for me but I think it would take over an hour to drive there, that's way too far.

Have good runs today, everyone!

Day from Hell here - forecast review in the morning (not good, prices going UP), material supply issues all day to resolve, and a meeting at 4pm for which I'm thoroughly unprepared and completely unenthusiastic. I'm going to need that lunch run for my sanity!

Heading to Disney tomorrow morning - ready to GTFO already! It's always good to see my teammates - that may be one of the best things about being on the team, the sense of camaraderie like when I played sports in high school.

JenRuns - You put in some SERIOUS mileage - you may take over the mantle of UberMileage Person from that lazy sumbitch, Baggs! Not to mention the female version of PTom with your mad speed. A deadly combination, for sure - someone with skillz AND dedication.

Hey all:

Nice run last night. It was maybe 45, light wind, light rain, so I had the roads to myself pretty much. Did the first few in the mid 8s to warmup, then dropped down to the low 7s. Good workout on a hilly course. 11 mi in 1:22, 7:30 avg.

This morning there was a little thunderstorm going so I just got on the TM for 6 easy at 8:45 pace.

Good luck Brandy, Baggs, and Pacer. Have fun in Orlando!

I am a moron - realized about 1/3 the way to work this AM that I did not have my duffel bag. Turn around, go home, no time to run. Will try to get something in tonight.

Morning all -

It's a grey, raining and generally miserable day here in Connecticut. I'll get six miles in this afternoon on the treadmill and another six tonight - probably also on the treadmill.

That's all I have for now.

Good runs to all.

Day of rest from running for me. I'll probably still bike or do something on my lunch hour just to make the work day go by faster.

Good Luck Disney racers, CactusTri and any other racers this weekend!

Thanks for the well wishes. Weather should be pretty near perfect (40's and clear at the start). I'm only taking a few days of easy running, so no real taper for this one, but to break my current PR from last year, I only need to run the same pace as I did for LVM last month (9:10) and I've done several medium runs (6-7 miles) at 8:2x, and felt good about it, so I think I'll be trying to hold 8:20 on race day and maybe kick it up a notch for the last 3-4 miles.

I got a surprising swim in this morning. Surprising because it was close to my all-time 1 hour distance record (2100m). Even more surprising because the heater on the pool is in overdrive and the water is almost 90*F. Easy 6 or so miles on tap for tonight and then about 3 hours on the bike tomorrow.

Going downtown to pick up my race packet and meet Frankie for lunch.

No running for me today, scheduled rest day. Thank the gods. 20 on tap for tomorrow and then taper time. I'll probably hit the gym today for some chest, shoulders and back, though I usually refrain from lifting the day before a 20-miler. My shoulders tend to get tired and sore. But I reckon that'll be the least of my worries tomorrow.

Pacer, Brandy and Baggs, good luck in Disney! And good luck on the halfy, Cactus.

Learned today that not all elliptical machines are created equal.

I did 45 minutes on one at the gym today. I managed a little more than half of the total miles I usually do on other machines in the same amount of time with the same settings.

I'll have to try another brand there to see what results it gives me to.

Then did some abdominal work to make room for the Mexican food I plan on consuming tonight.
