Hidey Ho Folks.

I'm trying to wake up and get organized for work, trying.

Sending Mandaroo good Mojo for her interview.

I missed my run yesterday, my current project is one of those that makes me go "okay, as soon as I finish this section I'll do xxx.." and then 3 hours later I'm still not done. Today.I.will.run.yes.I.will.

Happy Fridays to all, and even happier runs.

Good morning Jen, and all who follow. Woohoo, it's Friday!!

No run for me yesterday. I felt very fatigued yesterday, and really just needed a day off. I'm sure it was from the 55 mile bike ride the day before. So I didn't feel guilty about slacking yesterday...

Geez, quite a bit of drunken posting last night... and it wasn't even the weekend. Wow.

Good morning and good Friday to everyone.

Good luck Mandaroo.

I just got back from a 5 mile run. I used my Garmin for the first time. I am liking it.

Fort Hose with a Garmin, do you use the Garmin software, or the Motion basd? and if it is the Motion based do you subscribe to the standard package? I am not sure I want to spend an extra hundred a year on it. Thanks for the input.

G'morning, all!
5 on the tmill last night and more tonight.
Mandaroo: good luck on the interview!
Justjen: Yes.today.you.will.run!!!!
Ptom: after a 50+mile ride it's understandable that you might be a bit fatigued. Good job, by the way, on the ride. Loved the pics. Especially the GWB as I was stuck on it (or getting on it) for 1.5 hours when I went to Long Island for work the other week.
Have to get ready for work - finding it difficult to keep up w/ the new site.
Happy Friday!

'morning folks.

Ended up bailing on the weights last night. zzz. Will do them later today instead, I guess.

Good luck 'Roo with the interview!

I'm scheduled to show up at outpatient in an hour to start the bone scan stuff. While I doubt I"ll know anything today, as I figure they'll only get the results, and say "We'll forward these to your ortho, and you'll hear from him soon", I am very relieved to be at this point... hopefully the process of finding the culprit to my ankle issues is just around the corner.

Be safe guys... and have a great day!

Dave, actually I use both the Garmin software and MotionBased. I get my HR info from Garmin, and everything else from MotionBased. When they disagree on my distance, I use MotionBased's value.

I only use the free MotionBased. That's another reason I also use the Garmin software. Free MotionBased only gives you access to your last 10 runs, where as Garmin keeps them all available. Myron is the one who turned me on to MotionBased, and I believe he also the free one. I don't know of anyone who subscribes, and if anyone here does, I'd be curious to know if you think it's worthwhile...

Well, both give distances down to .01 mile. And I would say that they disagree by at least .01 almost all the time. MotionBased's values tend to be slightly higher than Garmin. If Garmin shows a run at 5.00 miles, then MotionBased might list it as 5.05. Maybe as high as 5.07 or so. Thus I'd say the margin of error between the two is about 1.0-1.5%. And I don't think that's a big deal...

JUST JENNYYYYYYYYYYYYY i love mojo. speaking of which, where is your mojo, girl?
Nettie drinkin at a ballgame.... my kinda girl. wish we coulda pulled our shizzle together enough to at least have you go out with us in Chicago. Oh yeah. i guess we coulda run too.
Stace you climbing this weekend?
In puppy news: I got Hank a Kong. His strategy for getting the treat out is to throw it up in the air and see if he can get the treat to break.

Thanks for the good juju. I'm still a little hesitant. I was really hoping for Columbus Africentric or somewhere else on the Souf-side... but since they are closing all the damn schools in my neighborhood (grfff) that is not so likely to happen.

I prolly should get outta here and start getting cleaned up. My girl Kelly is hell bent on me not having curly hair today....She is such a mandy-hair hater!!! Even her kiddo talks about it.

Theia... you still game for that QOD?

I use both Garmin and motionbased but I have not paid to sign up for the extra services w/ motionbase. Don't think I'll do that as I can think of other ways to spend the money.

Mornin' all,

Hope your friday starts better than mine, couldn't sleep, woke before the alarm clock with a headache building, and debated for a few minutes wheather it was better to lay?lie there for another half-n-hour not getting back to sleep and kicking myself all day for not getting some kind of run in, or get up and tough it out. So after tossing down some drugs I headed out for a run. Head didn't clear until the last 1/4 mile; don't know if the drugs finally kicked in or the up-n-down of running beat it into submission, and as I enter my log it was a short and slow run, however I did have something to enter and I'm feeling good now.

So after reading what I just wrote, I hope everbody's friday starts as good as mine.

Jen you can do it.

Have a good Friday to all.
Cheers

Hey kiddos! Love me a Friday, I do!

So got a nice east swim in last night followed by what felt like a slow motion run. Taper weeks stink! Just another super low key swim today and barely anything tomorrow in prep for Sun...my first tri. Like you all didn't know, I can't shut up about it, sorry for that! I did find out I am in the 8th wave to start, there are 9 total. The thing I am not liking is they say the awards should start at 10:30. Um, yeah, the last few waves are first timers. The last wave won't even start till about 8:45. SO most likely people won't even have finished before the awards start. Whatever! I have my own cheering section (with some 30 wimmins thrown in for good measure ) so it's all good!

Ike I don't think I said welcome yet!!!! So...welcome!!!

Nettie how did you manage to get up so early after your debauchery last night!?

Mandy best of the best for you today!

Jen will be throwing you good vibes today to get that run in!

Hey Dave it is good to see you around again neighbor!!!

Ailaire I really hope you get some answers soon, keep us posted!!!

This morning is grocery shopping for the brunch:
FINAL MENU:
Assorted Citrus Slices
Roasted Ratatouille with Egg & Cheese
Smoked Salmon and Leek Scramble with Meyer Lemon Creme Fraiche
Fresh mixed berries with cream
bellinis & mimosas
coffee, tea

Then, since my row last night was supplanted by eating, there will be a row this morning and then it's off to the lake to hang out with my coworkers. We have our out, though, as a dear friend is bachin' it this week-end so we're heading to his place for Chinese and Big Trouble in Little China.

QOD I've only ever been drunk-drunk a couple of times, and it wasn't as much fun as just being tipsy, so I usually stop pretty early on. As far as what kind am I - I'm more of myself, happy, flirty, although there are some exhibitionist tendencies that I have to watch out for. Oh, and everyone is my friend and no one would ever want to be mean to me.

My WAG-adjusted 5K result has come in and I can't say I'm really any happier.

29:17.

Not a chance. No way I covered the last 1.1 miles in 8:32.

http://pretzelcitysports.com/roadres...0res%20pdf.pdf

That's the link to the 5K results. If you go through it, you'll see around the 25.5 minute mark, the racers apparently start coming in one after another, a second or two apart. I'm guessing it should have been more like a 4 minute adjustment down, at least based upon the time I would have crossed, 36+, my estimated actual time of 32 minutes.

BTW, I actually ran this morning - 3 miles east on the TM. Figured the TM was the way to go, so if there were issues, I could stop. Tried to stay smooth and minimize any up-and-down. Actually tried CoachT's 180 step/min trick.

No issues. Back does not feel 100%, but it has not for a while, even after my elliptical and stairmaster runs. I can say for the first time in almost 2 weeks that I ran. If I feel OK, I may try my 5.5 M loop at home.

Getting ready to pack up the car and head to Richmond today! I really am not looking forward to 8+ hours in the car by myself on I-85 (booooorrrring!) So glad I got Sirius back again. Depending on how I feel when I arrive tonight, I may run. I may just wait till tomorrow morning, though.

I am so in denial about leaving that I still need to finish packing the suitcase! D'oh! No time like the present....

Good luck Mandy!

Happy Fridays and runs everyone! I'll hopefully be able to check in tonight (internet at the hotel! Woohoo!)

Ciao....

Morning everyone.

Well, I had no run yesterday. my headache did not subside until about 8 and I was just beat. I got up and did 7 this morning. Might do some east miles after work. We'll have to see. This morning's run was not fun for the most part. My calves were cramping big time, probably a side effect of wearing crappy shoes the whole 4th of July. My stomach was bothering me too..again. After 3 miles and a pit stop, it went much better. Might do 15 tomorrow before the heat index hits 100. Jeesh. This weather sucks.

Mandy - good luck!
