Woohoo! It's here! It's finally here!!

I'm up. Almost didn't get up, but I'm about 5 mins from walking out the door for a run. Will probably do 3.5 again. It's about all I have time for.

Hopefully, today will be an easy day at school for me, too. They will be working with the language lab watching a video and then playing a vocab game with a partner. Yea!

Ok, gotta get a move on. Hope you all are as excited as I am about it being Friday! Safe travels to Norah! Sounds like a fun time.

Ciao ciao!

Yeah, Beth, I agree. Thank goodness Friday is finally here! I hope it doesn't take too long to get over with...

I've got a short run on tap for this afternoon, and then about 14-15 tomorrow. And tomorrow's gonna be a hot one, so I'd better get it started early.

Well, I hope everybody has a great day...

Good morning, I saw some peeks of sun yesterday and hopefully there'll be more today.

Kini, I noticed last evening that you quoted me in your sig. It's nice to know that perhaps I say some interesting things.

Yesterday evening when I got home I set about to doing 6 pull ups every half hour. With that, I did 60 pull ups before going to bed. Also did a mess of weighted push ups and squats along with the pull ups during the evening, and some time going after the abs with tucked front levers and leg raises on the chin up bar. That chin up bar only cost me 10 dollars, I think, maybe the most bang I've ever gotten for my buck out any piece of fitness equipment I've ever purchased.

Morning, everyone!

No run for me today because the race is tomorrow! This is ALL I can think about, which is a problem because I'm giving a presentation to new teaching assistants this morning and I HAVE to finish a dissertation chapter today. Ah, well, I can only have one 'first race'. Speaking of which, here are my goals for tomorrow, so we can all see if I make them:

1. Finish
2. Run the whole thing
3. Finish before they start giving out awards 45 min after the race starts.

The third goal is actually disingenuous because I really want to finish under 40 minutes and I'm not making that my official goal in case I don't make it. Still, that's the goal. My longest run with uphills was this Wednesday -- 2.73 miles in 32:00. Even though there are more hills at the race, I still think I can break 40 minutes. Still, if I make goals #1 and #2, I won't be too disappointed.

Officially, I want to thank you all for your encouragement and well wishes, both online and off. I started c25k on May 21, and if you would have told me that that I'd be running a race (a race!) by the end of the summer, I would have told you you were crazy. I couldn't be here without you.

Lots of love to those in need. After my conference next week, I should be able to keep up better. I've missed you guys!

Good running, all!

Apparently we have the same day planned for tomorrow. Although no run for me today. Legs are feeling very dead today just waling around. Hopefully I can hydrate and rest adequatly to make tomorrow's 15 a success. Had more beer last night than I have had in a long time. Good times, but must rehydrate...

On your job situation - having changed jobs a few times, sometimes even if a job seams great, but doesn't 'feel' right, you may be better off passing on it. Learned that one the hard way myself.

praecipua Good Luck tomorrow - have fun and enjoy the experience.

Good morning!

I'm hungry. I'm doing a health assessment at 9:20 that includes a glucose and cholesterol check, so have to fast 12 hours. Can't even have my morning coffee. I did stop for a bagel this a.m. to have afterward.

Get to leave work at 1 today, so I can head up to MI for The Crim. Nick and I are having dinner with some of his running friends, and one of them is picking up our packets. Nick said that guy is the fastest runner he knows, but he won't be racing tomorrow as he's injured. Anyway, I'll be sure to post a race report sometime this weekend.

Frankie- cool, I have had 2 virtual sightings out west in the past 2 weeks now.

Prae- good luck on your 1st 5K tomorrow! Your goals are remarkably similar to my goals for my first race, down to the super-secret goal of finishing in under 40 min. I almost made it, my finish time was 40:26 or something.

Morning Gang! Happy Friday!

Prae - you are going to rock your first race, I absolutely know that!! (I know that because look how far you've come and isn't that cool!!!)

Litch and boB: 14-15 tomorrow huh? Yeah. . .

boB: others have said it too, but first - congrats on the job offer, nice to be wanted. Second - like they say for multiple choice questions, your gut instinct's probably the right one.

Scratch - how do you do weighted push-ups? Where do you put the weight?

Am supposed to swim, may skip it today - woke up to the full blown sinus infection that DH has been telling me I have for 2 days now. . . Ish.

BUT! It IS Friday, and that's always nice.

Have great days folks!

I've got some old free weights that I put in a backpack, get it on my shoulders with the straps about as tight as possible so the weight won't shift around.

I also do that when I want to do the weighted pull ups and chin ups. I'm thinking next week that I'll try adding 4 kilograms to all the pull ups I'm doing. I've definitely been feeling a good increase in strength over the past 2 weeks while starting on this grease the groove idea.

After next week's done, I may do a sort of easy recovery week.

Hi everyone. Hope everyone is doing well, there is no way I will be able to catch up on the last week or so. Hugs to those who need them!

Good luck on your races Prae, BigG,Kris, and anyone else racing.

I am excited to be running with the lovely Jill this Sunday at the Lehigh Parkway. Hopefully the weather will hold out for us.

Otherwise, nothing new to say. One week until vacation. We're going to Bluffton, South Carolina and have plans for a day in Savannah, a day in Charleston and a trip to Hilton Head which is a couple of minutes away. We'll be stopping in Virginia Beach on the way home for an overnite at my SILs.

Be well.

Auntie Moe, that is just wrong! I actually had the DOL website open for work purposes and tried to find info about safe work conditions and what your rights are, but a quick search did me no good. We had a mouse in my office last year and I was ten different kinds of skeeved.

I am working at home this morning because I have to drive to a site visit later. I was going to take a walk, but had some really icky stomach stuff going on and I just don't even feel like I have it in me. I did a 75-minute elliptical session on Wednesday, and 40 minutes yesterday plus arm weights, so I feel OK about the day off. Plus, I have my mom and sister coming over for brunch tomorrow, so I used the time instead to make a potato and sweet potato torte, and I hope to get some cleaning done.

Oh, yeah, and some work.

Hugs to the masses.

Morning all,

In case you missed my late post last night, the headline is that I swallowed a bug while on my run. Here's the details:

Wow, is everyone running 15 tomorrow? I've got 15 on my training plan too. It's a tempo run w/12 miles @ goal pace.

Good luck Prae!!!

Moe - yuck! I hate little varmints, so that sounds horrible.

LL - have a good day with the kids.

Like a straw!

{{moe}} - that is freaky. I don't mind mice actually but running around at work - not cool...and living & pooping in your shoes. That just crosses the line.

Prae - good luck good luck good luck - you are going to rock it sista!!

M&M (mary mctortle) - sinus infections blow (literally ). I used to get them a lot. It has been better since I started running and eating better but I used to have to get on meds at least 2x a year for them. Go get yerself a fruit smoothie. YUM. Vit C rocks!!

Eating bugs - done my fair share - I also use the protein rationalization. I also think that when I get them in my eyes - my body must absorb them as well.

Running - I did some upper body at the gym this morning and then 5 recovery miles. Temps were nice and the sunrise was bootiful! 16 (eek) on tap tomorrow. Good weather with no rain!

(and, yes - Sudafed does make me loopy. . . )
