You mean I get to start the thread?

Had to get up early to get my 5 miler in today. I'm meeting with a bunch of Bostonians tonight, so won't have time then. Looking forward to meeting Auntie Moe and seeing some old friends.

Okay off to work!

Have a good day all.

Morning EQ and all to follow.

Have a good day everyone. I will check in when ever I wake up tomorrow. I am dreading going back to work after so much time off, but I don't have a choice.

Good morning EQ, and good night Kini...

I had set my alarm for 4:45 this morning so that I could get my east run out of the way. But it was pouring rain then, and I really wasn't in the mood to run in the rain in the dark. So I went back to bed until my normal time, and I'll just run after work like I always do. Oh well.

Don't forget to check out the Fantasy Philly thread, and make a prediction for yourself if you are running it.

Wow, those Rockies just don't lose. I didn't stay up to watch much of that game, and I might not be staying up to watch much of any of those games. Oh well...

Have a great Friday, all!

Quick post, before I head out the door for 3.5..... bob if my baby prediction is right, you won't be making that afternoon run!

Later peeps...

Morning!
Waiting for it to get light (or at least close to it) to head out with Hank the Tank.
Today is golf shirt and kahkis day. Boo hiss..... At least I get to wear my Shox. Kids like that.
Spider pictures don't bother me. Toe pictures bother me. Gah.
Scratch My partner got me yogurt last night and got a different kind. There is mocha and caramel in there. I'll let you know how that rolls out....
EQ good luck this weekend. Hug Moe for me. Moe hug EQ for me. There. Its the transitive property of friends or something.
QOY: I dunno. I try not to think of food as weird because that's all realative. I remember being a kid, eating pork rines and asking my mom what they were and being totally skeeved out.
But I tend to side with Tonya and Katholeenie about meat products.
OOD Friday:
What valuable lesson did you learn as a kid the hard way?
I learned a willicreeper is NOT a skateboard. And that you taste liquid soap for days.

Mornin' gang! Baby seems to be feeling better. We'll see how the day goes. I can't wait til she's old enough that I can take her running in the stroller. I've got a craving to run but can't since it's just her and I here. Oh well.

Love the cowbell skit. I have a cowbell that I bring to the relays. Should it make the trip to Philly? Will one of our cheerleaders play it?

QOD: I learned that telling dirty jokes to your mom's new boyfriend isn't appropriate behaviour for a 12 year old girl. In my defense, I didn't know it was dirty. I'd heard my older sisters telling it and giggling so I thought I'd give it a go.

I also learned that it's not a good idea to get your foot stuck in the spokes of your front bike tire when it's going downhill.

Morning! It will be a busy weekend here. We need to close up the lake house for the winter and we're taking DD to the Feast of the Hunter's Moon for the first time. It's a huge reinactment/festival type thing about 10 miles from us. I haven't been since I was a kid, but I'm excited to see her experience it. http://www.tcha.mus.in.us/feast.htm

QOD Gravity is real!

Have a great Friday!
Bob tell Maggie I'm sending lots of good vibes her way. I remember how it felt once my due date passed and I was still pregnant. They tell you not to put much stock in it, it being just an estimate and all. But you just can't help it. It's the day you look to for so long. I really wanted to deliver at that point. I was so disheartened. I sat in the bathroom and had a big cry and felt better afterwards. If she likes that sort of thing, tell her to get a pedicure. It was something I really liked and man, did my toes look great in the hospital.

Good Morning. Today is my last day in my roach-infested building. I'll be moving this weekend and running a 20 on Sunday, so I may or may not be around much...that and I probably won't have internet for a few days.

Can't believe EQ and Moe are meeting up!

Morning all!

Wow, we're a chatty bunch already for folks who probably haven't even had their daily caffiene rations!

Rest night last night, and man I enjoyed it. Crashed a little early due to fighting this cold. Still have a bit of a sore throat this morning, but I'm hopeful I can shake the thing with rest, zinc supplements, and a lot of fresh fruits / antioxidants

Had a wonderful surprise this morning. Put on a pair of jeans that I haven't worn in a while. Noticed they seemed "extra" baggy. buttoned and zipped em, and though it took a little bit of hip wiggling, I could pull the things off my hips, while they were still fastened on. Oh, what a maaaahvelous day this shall be!!!

Kini - Glad to hear that things are all taken care of with your car!!! What a relief.

Poor Maggie. I'm sure she's SO ready to have the bambina. Though according to my predictions, she still has another six days!

Roo - I nearly spewed apple bits on my keyboard with your "liquid soap flavor lasts for days" comment. I'm probably gonna think of you every time I see the "Christmas Story", although Ralphie got a dose of Palmolive soap, instead!

Hmm.. Qod: this is werid for me, but I learned that horses don't always nuzzle and they BITE! I'm still nervous around horses these days.

Okies.. gotta finish breakfast and head to work. I'll catch up with you cats in a bit. Have a wonderful day, and safe, speedy runs, all!

Good morning 30's!
Now this is Fall! Finally! Today is rest day and tomorrow the 5k! Getting excited. How about you, Heather & Theia? Gotta stop by the expo this afternoon to get our race packets with Heather.

Have fun tonight, EQ, Moe, and others!

Clare, getting your foot stuck in bike spokes sounds entirely painful! I can just imagine!!

Oh, I am putting this on my calendar. This is definitely a possibility.

Hi everyone!

No coffee yet, but it's on it's way. I'll check in later to see what trouble you all are stirring up after I am well juked up.

PS--SOMEONE is running her first marathon this weekend and I predict very good things. I don't want to give it away, but the hint is:
her name starts with a "S" and ends with an "age".

Good QOD--mom is the worst for punishment because everything is a "life lesson" and "teaching moment". shiny patent leather on your church shoes cannot be scraped off, so don't try. grandma alberta makes the BEST food, so aim for her stuff at the christmas buffet. when my sister is mad, run like hell (still true).

man. that stuff is no joke. it was the one and ONLY time I told the original Mama Smith 'NO' so she marched my little ass into the bathroom and it was a new bar of soap and i was maybe 3...so it didn't fit. i started to laugh. i will never laugh about soap ever again, boy.

Good morning!

I have a confession: I haven't run since last Saturday. I am not really looking forward to running this weekend. It's not even a particularly long run, it will be only 6 miles. I need some serious motivation injection! It will have to wait until Sunday, so maybe I'll feel more enthusiastic by then.

QOD- don't make a bet with $ unless you are willing to lose it.

ETA: good luck Sage!!

Good morning. Chilly and windy out there.

Just resting today. Tomorrow's a big run.

I need to find some good gloves. My hands felt like meatsicles at the end of yesterday's run. It's not easy to draw blood out of meatsicles and check what the blood sugar is doing. Although it was nice running in the cooler temps and not sweating so damn much. Bit disappointing though to see the pacing and mileage in the tempo run effort and thinking if I had had that cool weather over the weekend I would have easily beaten my 5K time. Oh well.

Discovered that I like the taste of peanut butter on top of a chocolate crunch rice cake last evening.
