Morning all! I've been up for a bit, puttering around, having coffee and cleaning up the apt. About to get my Camelbak backpack loaded up and then I'm heading out to the Palisades for some fun times on the trails. It's warmer here today and sunny which make me much happy!! Later J&I are traveling up to CT to hang with his bro, sis-in-law and their kiddos, been way too long!

Kath, KP and Tonya - jealous! Have fun!!!

Hugs to you (((Amy))) and the kiddos and DH, that's never ever easy

Howdy!

I'm home after 3 days of travel, training and ...well...I'm sure something else that starts with a T. I'm home to do my laundry, kiss the kids, pet the dog and off again tomorrow. I'm heading to Victoria BC tomorrow for more training and schmoozing and basic selling of the new system.

I'm happy to report that my house is still intact after leaving DS#1 home alone for the first time ever. He seems to have managed fine without me and there are no traces of wild parties to be seen.

FUN: i'm going to buy myself a new pair of shoes and a good book.

Take care all!

It's raining and kinda gloomy here. I actually don't mind rainy Saturdays from time to time though. First, I am going to head out to do some shopping. I want to start looking for some spring clothes and maybe a dress, and then hit up Half Price Books. I'll be good and throw in a bill-paying errand or two as well. Then I think I am going to bake when I get home. I bought some buttermilk the other day so I could make some Irish soda bread and a day like today is perfect for doing something like that.

Hey everyone! Happy weekend!! We just got back from the Great Wolf. Taking four 8 and 9 year old boys was crazy. They were off the charts fired up. Definitely all hopped up on goof balls. It was exhausting, but we had a great time. Now we will deal with the fall out of overtiredness for the rest of the weekend.

Amy - so, so sorry to hear it. :( Hope the kiddos took it okay and hope you are hanging in there.

Fun here: doing a little work, going for a run, then going over to celebrate with some friends. Our good friend won the award of "Police Officer of the Year" so we are off to celebrate the "POOTY" tonight - should be fun!!

Hey, everyone. I've spent my day spending money so far. I bought $400 worth of paint, $10 of postal supplies, $8 of Steak-n-Shake yumminess and $665 of gadgets. Thankfully I got my state tax refund on Thursday and my federal return should be safely in my account before I have to pay off my credit card. I need to retire the card for a while now, though.

I had a ton to do today, but I really want to take a nap. I may trade an evening of TV for an afternoon nap. I think that seems like a fair trade.

(((Amichel & Family))) I'm so sorry for your loss.

Have a blast KP, T, and Kath!!!

Yeah for dough spending, Prae!!!

Welcome back RIL! It sounds like you had a blast! I had a good time at Great Wolf with my kiddos! Rachel (DD2) was so excited when we got there, she couldn't stop smiling!

Kris, could you pm me your Irish Soda Bread recipe. I want to make some for the gals I work with, but I don;t have a good recipe. Hope it comes out yummy!

Well, I am enjoying a nice glass of wine, catching up on my DVR. I had a s*#t of a week. However, I did unoffically pass my VCLA which means I can start my teacher licensure classes this summer! I'm super happy about that!

Fun: we settled on a condo for the extended family adventure in Myrtle. MIL should be paying the deposit by phone right now. Glad to have that debate over. Now to find a sitter to travel with us:) I got spoiled by having one with us last trip!

Not fun: lots of little things today, like realizing I don't have to move food from the the table to the counter, so the dog won't reach it. Seeing his collar on the seat of DH's truck really got to me this morning too. Ugh. Glad it's over though, and the kids did ok with the news. He was with us almost exactly 13 years, nearly the entire time DH and I have been together. So, it will be weird for awhile, but it was still the right thing. DD is doing ok, and DS is to young to get it.

More fun: I made banana bread today and it smells awesome.

Super duper fun for tomorrow: we're going to a fundraiser beer tasting event. 12 beers, instruction about them, a four course meal, and a glass to take home. Perfect last hurrah before the clean eating challenge, right?

I realized this afternoon after running my errands that I was nearly out of butter and so could not make the soda bread. I went out again this evening for a quick trip to Staples and Trader Joe's so now have the butter. I think I will make the bread tomorrow instead, however.

Tried on several dresses today, didn't buy any though. I hate clothes shopping, but today wasn't too bad. Nothing looked completely awful, but none really jumped out and said "buy me" either.

Kris: I hate it when I'm planning on baking or cooking and I go to do it and something is missing. Hate. It.

Missy: Your post makes me hungry. Even though I'm really not hungry.

Since i'm only in town for the day, I went to get my boys for the evening/night. It gives their dad a night off and it gives me a reminder of why I love my boys. We ate junk food and watched a movie and got all caught up on the week past and the week to come.

Morning, friends. I'm up early to get tons of work done. I went to bed too late last night because my best friend called and we can't have short phone calls. I was going to hold off on breakfast for a little bit, but Missy's post made me hungry too, so I'm going to make some decaf coffee and make some granola bread toast.

Have a fabulous day, my friends.

With 2 cooks (on opposite schedules) in the house, this happens to me once a month or something. But usually when I'm in the *middle* of cooking a recipe. Thankfully, there is a grocery about a mile up the street, so I can get what I need in about 10 minutes.

Hi all. Well, if I'm going to do a cleanse, it won't be this week. Enjoying a slice of a molasses banana bread with walnuts that I gave a whirl - nice moist, rich texture inside and of course a quite molasses-y taste. Next time I try the recipe, I think I'm going to up the walnut content and maybe add a little more banana. Perhaps I'll even add something tart to the mix (cranberries? cherries?)

Becca - congrats on passing that test, and good luck on the licensing classes!

Yum, Missy - I haven't had a bowl of pho in a long time.

Prae - sounds like you've had a fun weekend. Which reminds me, I've got to send in my taxes (the state portion of it anyway - gonna' wait til the very last minute for the feds, since I owe them cash

My brain is mush and I had a scare when I thought my computer crashed and took my career with it. Thankfully that didn't happen and I'm moving right along. If only I had a few more days. I guess I'll be pulling my first all-nighter since I completed my dissertation. Tomorrow's classes are going to be rough, especially since I haven't begun prepping for one of them. I'm still smiling, though that may be a sign of madness.
