Dinner and card playing last night ended rather abruptly as we decided Papaw needed medical attention. He spent the night in the ER and was admitted this morning with pneumonia. He was completely fine on Friday night, but had blue lips and hands last night. I guess it comes on fierce at that age. The hospital is clearly where he needs to be, and hopefully he was there quick enough that it will be a short stay.

I started my exercise regime this morning, but before that I had a DEXA scan which is more high tech than a Bod Pod scan (I guess). I had to take a pregnancy test first. Yeah, right, like there's any chance of that. Anyhow, 30 minutes on the treadmill at 140 beats per minute. This is going to be fun, I think. I'm not enjoying getting up so early, but the sense of accomplishment is nice.

I am ready for a nap, though. Thankfully it's spring break (finally) so I get to ease off on the schedule. My best friend arrives tomorrow for a week. I can.not wait!

Prae - glad to hear you got started! I hope it is a very good experience for you.

Hi all - scramble city for me the last couple and the upcoming few days. Today I've been designated to pick up my aunt from the airport, tomorrow I'll be trying to touch up and get things finalized for Wednesday night, when Kris flies in for several days. What will be nice is the rain that's been pounding this area constantly will let up this week, so hurrah for that

Wow, after all that upsetmania, do you believe that there are actually still two people (at least on ESPN) who have a perfect Final Four on their brackets? Of course, most of us would've thought "ha!" if we had seen those brackets before the tourney began...

Ugh...best wishes for your pawpaw, Amy

Prae - the tests don't sound fun, but the results should be interesting to watch; looking forward to seeing how you do

Don't know if this makes want to take a vacation to New Zealand more or less now (not like it's an immediate option anyway) but guess who has branched out into air safety spots

morning peeps.

Good lord, I'm tired today. Woke up just before 7 this morning...and promptly fell back into a deep sleep. Oy.

At least the show closed this weekend and I'm actually done with cleaning up costumes for it. Remarkably quick strike for me, which is a blessing. Of course, I have to go to another theatre next week to measure the cast for the next show I'm working on...I'm regretting taking this one on, unfortunately.

My nephew's birthday party was Saturday afternoon...who knew there was STILL so much Thomas train stuff he didn't already own! Good grief. I gave him a snorkel and mask for the beach this summer...he must have liked it because when I stopped by their house yesterday, he ran upstairs to get it to tell me how much he liked it. :)

My BiL is supposed to be back in the States in about 6 weeks. (He won't be home until probably July 1, but being back in the US will be a huge relief for my sister.) I am really happy for my sis, that he's coming home soon, but I'm worried about how it will affect the time I spend with them, since there's been such a rift between my BiL and the rest of my family. I haven't seen him in 3+ years...not since my niece's christening. I did send him an email while he's been gone, to say hello, and a card or two...I'd like to move beyond what happened in the past.

Oh, duh, forgot to mention - nice pics Kath! I'll blame my alarm clock for my sluggishness today - the power went out yesterday, but my alarm clock has a battery backup. Unfortunately, I forgot that it runs ridiculously fast when it's on battery power, so the 5 AM alarm today went off at 4:30 AM instead - ugh!

Yeah, I hear you re: Thomas train stuff. I think it was Timr who mentioned he was more like Thomas the Profit-Making Engine. Glad you went in a creative other direction with your nephew's gift. And here's hoping time has repaired the rift between your family and your BiL.

Watched three movies this weekend. Paul, Buried and Ghost Writer. Yes, pretty quiet weekend.

My niece's cheer team came in first in her division, that's fun stuff!

I just crushed the dreams of one of my advisees. It was brutal but necessary. I tried to be as gentle as possible but a dream-crushing is still painful, regardless.

I hope Lori's first day back and lunch are fantastic.

Movies? I watched The Fighter this weekend. Christian Bale is crazy skinny but very good in that movie. Plus I like Mark Walhberg.

I need someone to crush my dreams. All I can dream about right now is Wendy's delivering a frosty to my desk.

Lunch goof today: I thought I packed leftover kiwi, but I actually packed leftover asparagus. I like asparagus, but not when I'm expecting kiwi.

Haha - fun? My 10K result is listed at 34:38. Um, I think there is a bit of a mistake there, folks. The person they have listed as second female is also a man (I'm pretty sure).

As far as the 5K, both of my kids are listed as "John" and DH doesn't have an official time. Yup, it was a very, very small race with some very low key organization. :)

My coworker came with me to the art store...and totally made us stop for Popeye's on the way back. I don't think I've eaten Popeye's chicken since there was one next door to [shoot, Bob or Duck, help me out...the seedy nightclub that used to be in Kenmore Sq on the corner--Celebration???] back in the day. Easily 15 years if not 20.

I did not watch any movies this weekend which is not usual for me. I saw parts of two movies but I won't count that.
