10.5 glorious miles for me. Mid to upper 30s and watching the sun rise - I'll take it. 6 weeks until Eugene and I am poised to really kick it up a notch.

Happy running.

nice job, RIL! i can't believe eugene is just around the corner for you!

i got in 6 miles with AK and bella in tow and it was also a beautiful day out. we recently had some major flooding and some of the path had previously been underwater so there was a lot of mud and puddles which made for a super fin timer splashing around for both bella and i.

Nice runs, ladies. I got in a nice one myself. I did 3x1 mile repeats in 7:38, 7:27, 7:24. Not too shabby for me. I normally don't do anythign speedy on Fridays, but my schedule is going ot be a bit out of whack this weekend. I won't have time for a long run tomorrow (maybe nothing at all), so I figured if I don't run long on Saturday, I can do a little more on Friday. Of course, I don't really have a "schedule" at all anyway...

Recap from yesterday: at about 4 am on Thursday I stubbed my toe in the dark on the way back from the bathroom. It hurt but nothing more than what I would expect. My toe didn't hurt that much at work yesterday but was a little tender. I tried to be careful with it during the day.

Well after I got off from work I pulled off the sock and discovered that my toe was a lovely shade of dark purple from the last knuckle to the tip of the toe. Ah.....no wonder it was tender. I iced it a bit last night. There was very little swelling if any that I detected. That said I did not even think about running this morning and will take tomorrow as it comes.

So today at work I am taking casual Friday to a whole new level. I cut out the top part of my sock (yes I will throw them away after work hehhehe) and have that shoe very loosely tied. That should keep most of the pressure off the toe.

no run for me yesterday due to this darn cold which has migrated back up into my face. ew. Better than my chest - especially since my HM is tomorrow. Guess I'll NOT be racing it.

I did go for a long walk to check out the gas line explosion area about .6 miles from my house. Pretty surreal. Weirdest thing was the XC team running through the parking lot to check it out.

Maples...ouch!

Brandy, good luck with your half this weekend! I hope that cold doesn't give you too much trouble!

I'm running a 5k race on sunday. It's a pretty flat course and I think the weather is supposed to be decent. I'm looking to get a PR in a 5k this year so this might be my first stab at it. We'll see!

I noticed a hole starting above the big toe on my left shoe this morning. Sad. This is the first time this has ever happened to a pair of my shoes.

Good luck weekend racers!

I took off from work today. Ran a tough 11 miles this morning. I've kept to the clean eating, but I met some friends for St. Pat's Day yesterday and had a few light beers. After 2 weeks of vegan (I think) clean eating and no alcohol, those beers did not sit well in my stomach or head. Ugh. Practically no fuel in me this morning, so the 11 miles was a fight between me and a serious drain of energy in my whole body. Must figure out better LR fueling with these eating habits.

No run today because the OSU game is on right after work (yeah, yeah, I know it's a game against UTSA but still), and after that is finished, it will be getting too dark to run safely in my neighborhood. I do plan to get out for at least one run/walk this weekend and maybe some hiking at the parks?

Clare- I put holes in my running shoes above the big toe all the time. Socks too. I think I have an unconscious habit of slightly raising my big toe when I walk and so it rubs more there than it would for a normal person.

Hey runner dudes and gals,

I'm going to try to get in 3 runs this weekend, starting tonight, and include a 19 miler in there somewhere. Sunday is supposed to be nice, so it will be a battle between yard work and long run for a big chunk of my time.

Ouch, Mapes. Sounds painful.

Way to tough out those 11 miles, Lora.

Hey all,

Maples - that sounds painful. Take care of it and heal up quick.

Just back from an easy 3 around my hood that wasn't so easy. So, I guess I'm ready to go 10x further tomorrow morning at the 50K. It's gonna get hot tomorrow. I can envision lots of water dumped over my head. Should be an adventure.

Gotta get DS to bed in a bit and make final preparations.

Good weekend and good runs to all.

I'll go out on a limb and guarantee an OSU win. You can go for a run.

Yeah, I could have done that, I was recording the game on DVR anyway. But I didn't.
