Looks like everybody is at the bars eating and drinking green stuff today except KS and Heme.

Easy run for me not going under 8:00 pace. The run seemed to take forever. Not much interesting on tv in the morning.

9 miles 73:28 2% incline

Today was my 62nd day running in a row with the last 57 going at least one hour. Far different than running (racing) once a week last fall!!

Drinking green stuff?............ no, no, no....... that's sacrilege, so I'm told!

I have instructions from DH (who's Irish) to pick up some Guinness on the way home, to go with the Irish stew he's making.

Happy St. Paddy's Day all.

I learned several years ago, in my Lutheran church, of all places, that after Bishop Patrick brought Christianity to the Irish people, the faith was more or less forgotten back on the continent due to lack of use; but Christianity itself, and its written history, specifically, was safe in the Old Sod. So a tip of the hat to my Irish brothers and sisters today.

Today I tried to improve upon Tuesday's tempo run, which was my first fast paced workout since I ran in a 5k back on Thanksgiving morning - wow - 3 and a half months ago. I ran at ~ 7:20 pace for 20:00 again today, and while I didn't make it quite as far today (about 25 yards shorter than I did on Tuesday), I kept my pace between 7:25 and 7:18 today, progressing to about 7:15 at the very end, whereas on Tuesday I went out too fast and struggled to hang on, dropping from about 7:05 in the beginning to about 7:35 at the end. McMillan says my tempo pace should be 6:56 to 7:15, so I was just a touch slower than that today; I guess that means I'll do one more 20:00 tempo on Tuesday and see if I can bring it down a little more, into that range, before bringing it up to 25:00.

I finally have an evening off and am thinking about walking down to the Tavern to raise a Guiness to the memory of my Dad. He didn't drink, at least he didn't in my lifetime; but I don't think he'll mind if I remember him with a stout one.

BTY - good workout but your tempo is based on current fitness; not on a race 3.5 months ago. You'll get back to that soon enough if you don't try to run too fast too soon.

Hi Heme. What up Johnny? How's the mouth feeling today?

Nice tempo run BTY and nice drinkin' everyone else....I had a green shake after running, but then I have one of those most every day anyway.

The root canal actually doesn't hurt. This was a different dentist than my usual guy, as the tooth in question was one of the ones anchoring my bridge, and the regular dentist thought a specialist should do it...So anyway, I took some advil & some tylenol yesterday afternoon and it didn't hurt when I got up this morning, so I guess I'm all stocked up on advil when I need it again.....thanks for askin' KS.

Had reason to be in town earlier, so I went to the gym again.....progressive 1:30 TM run, just under 9 miles..felt much better than the other day.

3.3 miles this morning on my own, and 7 more with the ladies I'm doing the HM with in two weeks. Good training for my relay, doing the double, which is in eight weeks. And as per my appointment with the breast surgeon this morning, I won't have to forfeit either race; my surgery can wait until after both races are done. So good news all around today.
