Good morning!

Got up this morning and did my strength workout! Woot! Yesterday I did a 45 easy spinning at the Y. Sadly, I am sore.

Morning Tonya!

I was just reading yesterday's thread, trying to figure out if it was also supposed to be for today...

So today marks my FIRST training run for Glass City! wOOt! Only two miles, but I've got my whole training schedule printed out by day and posted on my fridge. There are hill runs and tempo runs every week, which will be a new adventure for me...but I'm really excited.

I did a Boot Camp workout on Saturday, and while I made it through *fairly* easily (it was a real challenge the second circuit) I am SO SORE still today! Yikes. But all my yoga this summer and fall has really upped my core strength, which I could tell during class.

I'm off from the library for two more days, and Gamecocks play at 1pm today....Goooooooooo COCKS!

I got one of my spring semester textbooks in the mail NYE, and I'm tempted to start reading it now to get ahead. Is that weird?

I'm excited for 2012 and a return to running...

Count me in on the sore folks. Not sure why, but my legs (particularly calves) have been sore yesterday and today. Last week was a cut-back week and my long run was only 12 miles, so I'm not sure what gives.

Glad you are back at it Tonya and Ann. Hopefully 2012 will be a great running year.

I am at work and it is nice because I am the only one in the office. Hopefully I'll be super productive in this quiet.

I just read that there is 2 feet of lake effect snow on the way - are you getting that Parkers?

Woot! I'm seriously considering setting up Glass City marathon as my spring goal race. I'll have to broach the subject with the DW after going to Houston for the marathon and trials.

In other running news, I just registered my team for the Bourbon Chase relay. Yes we'll be going back...it's a GREAT race and we had a ton of fun. Love the Bourbon too.

Happy New Year all!!!!

RIL - are you back home now? Sorry that we didn't touch base. I haven't been on the computer much since we've been here. speaking of here. Tomorrow we're driving home. Yesterday was our last Park Day #11. We hit Hollywood Studios, Epcot and Magic Kingdom all in the same day. The kids were troopers and stayed out until after 11:00pm. It's been a great vacation. Hard to believe that we've been here over 1/2 a month! I hope our house is still standing when we get home.

I'm going to run today between bowl games. Looking forward to getting home tomorrow and getting back into routine.

Mindi - we're supposed to get snow, but not that much! Plus we're about 10 miles too far inland to really get the lake effect stuff.

Speaking of snow - we ended 2011 with ZERO of the the white stuff on the ground. We've got maybe 1-2" now? Totally bummed by the fact I missed the best December for running since we've been in the mitten, and I'm afraid of what March and April are going to look like...

45 mins on the elliptical yesterday at the Y. Strength stuff this morning, including my rehab (you can actually see my calf now). I have to go to work for 3-4 hours and then I'm planning on settling in for the Rose Bowl. Any predictions of how poorly the B1G 10 will do against the SEC this year?

Good morning, folks. Anybody working today? DW is, but I'm not. I'm just about ready to head into NYC to watch my team play a crappy football game. Then hopefully I'll get to see some halfway decent football games played by other teams...

No run today. But yesterday's 5k race was fun. I came in 124th out of 937. I'm pretty happy about that, considering I was feeling kinda slow. My paces were nice and consistent (7:16, 7:20, 7:18), so I feel that got the year off to a good start.

Less than two weeks til the RNR Marathon in Arizona. I'm still guessing that I won't break 4 hours, but that's okay. I really just want to check off state #21...

Nice running so far this year, folks...

KP - do we count Texas A&M's victory over Northwestern?

Timr - nope. For the simple reason that A&M might not have been bowl eligible if they'd been forced to run the SEC West gauntlet this year. I would not want to be an Aggie fan next fall.

Yep, that's for sure. take a look at what A&M has for next year's schedule:

Texas A&M's entry into the SEC will be challenging. The Aggies not only kick off the SEC season against Florida, they still play Arkansas while hosting LSU and Missouri and visit Auburn, Mississippi State and Alabama on Nov. 10.

First training run = CHECK. Only two miles, goal training pace was 10:08-10:38 according to MacMillan, actual pace was 10:22 overall, but the second mile was about :15 faster. Ooops. Well, anyway....it's nice to see that first workout circled in GREEN.

I had a football question yesterday that Dh couldn't adequately answer (for me, heh - but WHY?!?) and he told me I should ask you. But now I can't think of what it was.

Hi all - first off, Happy (Belated) New Year to everyone! Had a great time with Bard's family and other associates New Years' Eve and Day. Lots of good food and snobby beers to sample.

Got a lot of firsts done today - first workout of the new year (Crossfit-styled, first workout in about two weeks, and badly needed after lots of (over)eating and sitting in a car for several days in a row.) Also got my first experience driving in icy, snowy conditions. Did pretty well, though I did slide out a bit right at the end and sideswiped a curb (Kris said the driver behind me was probably thinking, "Heh! California driver", which made me chuckle.) If I remember the strategies I used to better my gas mileage I was using in California and learn to pump my brakes a bit more when coming to a stop, I think I'll survive just fine.

Went over to Costco too to buy (mostly) bulk item stuff for our townhouse. Felt a little strange to be buying a carpload of paper towels, but it also reminded me that I've reached a new (and welcomed) stage of life.

Hope everyone is enjoying their day today!

Last day off work, and we spent it working on the house. Finally took a break to go to the gym around 5 and got my scheduled 2 miles done. Foot was grumpy, so I did a round of ice massage after dinner. Hopefully that will take care of it.

Hope 2012 is treating everyone well!
