Initially, I thought I would enter Western States but I don't think I'm ready for that one.

I do think, however, that I want to try another 100M in '08.

Right now, I'm thinking of these two:

June: Laurel Highlands 70M (Looking to improve from last time.)
Aug: Burning River 100M

Am I obsessed for thinking this far ahead?
I am thinking about Seneca Creek Greenway 50K in March, if I am able to successfully work up to the distance.

Maybe the Hyner View Trail Challenge in April (15 miles).

Umstead as crew/pacer for sho.

Not sure other than that, too many variables.
Most of my schedule will be dependant on Western States lottery, again

Old Dominion Memorial 50M or 100M (leaning towards 100, unless coach says it is too close to WS)
Seneca Creek 50K (usually 1st weekend in march, 28 mile marathon, 34 mile 50K0

Fingerlakes (though it is the week after WS i may have to play cheerleader)
Desert Rats (possible substitute for WS)

If I get into WS with my "buddy" she will attempt the Grand Slam, so i may do one or two races with her since i would have a travel buddy.
Roots come join me I think it will be June 7-8th

http://www.fans24hour.org/

I have you down for 200k+
Hee! I've already got AC100 in Sept 08 on my calendar!

Obsessed? I can't imagine anyone who runs ultras being obsessed with anything.
I am thinking -

Houston Marathon 1/13/08
Boston Marathon 4/21/08
Ice Age 50 mile 5/10/08
FANS 12 or 24 hour 6/7/08

Then I have to decide what I want to be when I grow up -

Badgerland Striders 12/24 hour Sept 2008
Edmund Fitzgerald 100K - Oct 2008
Umstead 100 - April 2009

Chicago - Oct 2009
Green Bay - May 2009
I will meet MTP someday at a race.

Not likely I could keep up. If the run is long enough, there's a slim possibility I could outrun him.

The Vermont 100!! Definitely dreaming of that one as my main goal #1.

In line with the poster above, who said that they had tentative plans through 2009, I have twenty races on my list between now and then, something of marathon length or greater every three weeks. Highlights include this fall's Vermont 50, the Stonecat 50, the Hellgate 100k (save me!) if I get in, then marathons in Boston and Hyannis, MA, the Pittsfield, VT showshoe marathon, the Wapack 50, and the Pittsfield Peaks 53ish miler.
It's a pretty nice small trail race. Last year there was about 200 people.

Really a good race. Last year it cost $12 for a 10 mile race with food at the end, a huge raffle at the end, prizes, and a tee-shirt. How do you beat that?

The only bad thing is that, while there are 3 water stops (mile 2.5, mile 5, and mile 7.5), the 2.5 and 7.5 mile water stops are unmanned (they're in the same location as the course is an out and back). But, given the cheap price, and the good time had by all, I'll deal with that.
I have one race on my radar for 2008 and that is the Tahoe Triple. It is not exactly an ultra but it will be my longest "race" ever. Now that I am back from vacation it is time to start working towards it now. I also have plans on running a marathon in December 2007, a Marathon in February 2008 (inaugaral one here in town), a 50K here in town and then nothing long until September in Tahoe.
