Race Goals
LaCrosse 5 miler - January 5
LaCrosse 5 miler - February 8
Irish for a Day 5k - March 15 - I’d like a new PR but I’m not really sure what my 5k PR is. In my handy dandy new runningahead.com PR listing it shows the same race run in consecutive years as:
2006 3.2 miles 26:42
2007 3.1 miles 25:34
Earth Day Half - April 18-19 - Under 2 Hours
Madison marathon relay - May 27 - Run well and Have a lotta fun!
Grandmas Half - June 21 - if I get in, run faster than I did at Earth Day for a new PR.
Reach the Beach Relay - September 12-13 - Run well and Have a lotta fun!

Fitness Goals
Run at least 3x a week.
Total mileage for this year was under about 460 miles. Now that I’m settled in at home and at work, I see no problem getting more miles in for 2008 and I’m going to put 700 as my mileage goal for 2008.
I’m also going to do more strength training and learn to use the machines at the gym. I have free weights at home that I’ll use but at least once a week I’ll go to the gym for some weight training on machines in order to shake things up and use my muscles in a different way than with free weights.
Spin Class at least once a week.
Yoga every Sunday morning at the gym.

Nutrition Goals
Water Water Water
Keep a food journal
Limit /eliminate the “easy” foods - fast food, pizza delivery, Kraft Mac N Cheese, chips. ICE CREAM OK that’s not necessarily easy but I lerv Ice Cream. It’s my favorite.

My goals are more generic but do have wide reaching benefits:

Cross training: 3 days a week

Running: 4 days a week

Eat smaller portions

Drink about 100 oz of water a day

Cut down on eating late meals as much as possible as those stay with you the most.

If I am consistent then those things will all contribute to a healthier, slimmer, trimmer, me. If I do all of the above for most of the year then my two other goals will be achieved:

Get my weight down in the upper 180s. Which means lose about 17 pounds or so in a year.

Lose more inches around my waist. Perhaps at least 4 to 6. I don't really have a set goal in mind but an overall reduction is the idea.

First on my list is always stay healthy.

2nd, and this only seems to be an issue since I hit 35 - be injury free. That's not the same as #1 for me.

3rd - continue strengthening my ankle and run more than I did last year.

Why do you need #6? You have already achieved that one.
