Care to share your ultra ambitions for what's remaining in 2007?

I'm running less events than I did last fall. Although I'm targeting a road marathon as my fall goal, I still have a couple on the schedule:<br><br>
9/22 - YUT-C 50k (Youngstown, OH)<br>
10/20 - Presque Isle Endurance Classic 12 hour<br><br>
JFK 50 is a maybe, but more likely I will accompany friends and crew for them.<br><br>
I'm also visiting Northern CA in Nov/Dec and I want to get in a good long run or overnight fastpack in the Sierra Nevadas.

You guys are putting me to shame...I will probably do another "ultra" on my birthday in December (I put it in quotes because it's just me running - so I'm in first place and DFL at the same time!) I did 50 miles on a 5 mile loop course last year - I think this year I will run the Flying Pig Marathon course forwards and backwards (not actually run backwards - I'll run the course from 26.2 to the start!).<br><br>
To make myself sound better, I've got several marathons planned between now and then so I'm not a total wuss! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Very Happy">

I am contemplating coming over from the dark side (Marathons) in 2008-09<br><br>
I found trying to pound out 50 miles fast on trails very punishing. So the one that intrigues me is the FANS 24 hour in MN 1st weekend June 08. @ 4k look around lake.<br><br>
Keep cranking them out - Its only a matter of time before Flounder crosses over <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Smile">

I'm toying with the idea of this silly 50K next Feb. The start/finish is about 7 miles from my house. Although I can't stand double loop courses, something is strangely appealing about 5 x over a 10K out and back.<br><br>
I'm not so much bit the ultra bug as I think it would probably help my marathoning(?). We'll see how it plays out.<br><br><a href="http://www.oc100k.com/" target="_blank">http://www.oc100k.com/</a><br><br>
Oh and my wife would shit if she knew I was doing an ultra, so I'd have to just call it a marathon...

It's not an ultra, it's just a sissy marathon, but it is primarily a trail marathon.<br><br>
September 15th, Fairbanks, Alaska. <a href="http://www.equinoxmarathon.org" target="_blank">Equinox Marathon</a><br><br>
After that, most likely my next trail race won't be until April 2008 when I'll probably to the Merrimack River 10 Mile Trail Race in Andover, MA again.

Liberty Park is a great place to for the kids to hang as well. The city of Cerritos makes a TON of sales tax revenue from all the car dealerships, they plow a bunch of it back into the parks, theaters, etc.<br><br>
The race certainly looks like a benign way to try something past 26.2.
