hey Tim! Congratulations on your PR. I'm glad that Lew and I got to meet you and your wife. We were wondering how you got home because we heard about the bad weather in OK. Hope you are all well. Best wishes and Happy Holidays, dromedary

Your splits were awesome! I liked the Boston Billy story. I have a friend here, who's not quite in the Master's division, who raced with Bill at the OKC Memorial Half. We were standing at the finish line, and you should have seen his face when he saw Bill finish and he said, "I beat Boston Billy." I heard him speak at the Expo-he's very inspiring, and I learned a lot about running in just a few minutes.

Just got to this today. Yes, there were some mental errors there, which you have acknowledged, and that happens to us all, but you should put them behind you and remind yourself that you are right where you want to be for Houston. You ran a fine race in Dallas, just what you needed. Well done Tim. Spareribs

Hi, Tim! Wow, what a detailed report. You could teach me a few things about report writing.

Okay, that is my favourite part:
Maybe a few mental drifts, but isn't having a blast what it comes down to? Great race. Now, go get 'em in Houston.

Sans...absolutely correct..if you ain't having fun...theN why do it?...

I learned this lesson after my second marathon....I desperately wanted to break the 4 hour barrier...got a 4:13:06...as I crossed the finish line my family could tell how upset I
was....
Afterwards I promised myself.....training is too much work not to appreciate the results...even when they are not what you want...

SO, having FUN breeds success...

Rib's...yeah...major mental mistakes....I am not sure what came over me...but I am glad it happened here and not Houston.....the same mistakes...will not....happen twice....

I will have to re-group and focus....

Thanks,

Nice RR and race Tim. I know you were a bit disappointed in your performance, but sometimes it just doesn't always all come together. I'm sure you'll really shine at Houston.

Sure was nice meeting up with you and the other Boomers there. Hope to see you at another race soon.

Congratulations on the PR Tim!! Think of it this way, you ran a PR in the middle of the training without a proper PR-type half-marathon taper. If you felt it was "easy" then you left some on the road. Therefore, I agree with Ribs, you are right where you need to be for Houston! You really ran within yourself as those fine splits attest! Great race!

Tim,

Trip back up here was no problem. Didn't see any ice until 5 miles from the house and it was in the trees, not on the road. We were also fortunate in that we only lost power for 13 hours. Lots of folks still w/o power up here.
