Fun? Anyone?

I have to admit I am kind of cranky this morning. After relatively nice weather last week, it is cold and icy and snowy again here. Come on Spring! [email protected].

That's all I've got for now, but I have to think there is some fun on the horizon.

People here (myself included) are a bit worn down with the union fights / governor / protests. No matter what side you are on, there is noticeable general crankiness going on. That's not fun and it is all getting very old, yet still going nowhere fast.

(((((Mooine)))))) - glad the services went well and that you were surrounded by family. Sorry again for your loss.

Good meeting vibes for all who need 'em.

Howdy!

It was colder this morning than I thought it would be so I left my hat in the car. Never leave your hat in the car. It can't do you any good there. My right ear is frrroozen. Ah well... someday I will learn.

It's supposed to snow here tomorrow. This winter has been strange here in Ottawa. We keep hearing of everybody around us being dumped on with snow but it really hasn't been our problem this year. It's been cold but not super freezing. All and all, not so bad. Weird!

And now, I would like to propose a toast in thanks to Kevin, a guy in my office, who bought me a coffee this morning when we bumped into each other at the Second Cup on the corner. It is de licious. It's amazing how doing something so very small for someone can just brighten up their day. To Kevin!

Oh! I almost forgot! Have a good vacation Maureen!

((((Lora)))) I'm going to go back and read why I'm giving you hugs. Whatever it is though, you have my support and good hopes.

lol They checked my references yesterday and I talked to the HR chick up at the company and I should have an interview Tuesday morning. I will find out the final details today!

I have a screaming headache and they are going to be drilling metal beams and hammering said beams right above my head today. I asked one of the contractors on a scale of 1-10 how loud it was going to be and he said it wouldn't be to bad but already it's to loud.

I will let you guys know as soon as I hear something!!

I wonder if it's any coincidence that this is happening around the same time as all the troubles in the Middle East. I mean, are people seeing all the unrest in Tunisia and Egypt and Yemen and Libya (etc) and thinking, "Gee, I want to go out and protest something"? Maybe there's some element to that, but in some sense, they're protesting the opposite thing. The people in the Middle East are protesting against the power of government, but here in the U.S. people are protesting against CUTS in government power. So maybe the people in Libya and the people in Wisconsin should trade places for a week or two.

Greetings, all.

Not fun: Sleepily dragging myself to bed last night, only to find out that Pippin had apparently hurled in it while I was in the shower a few hours before, and of course, everything had soaked through all layers. (thank goodness I have a waterproof lining on the mattress for just such occasions.) There's nothing like having to change out stinky bedding and start laundry when you want to be asleep. Grr.

Fun: A former co-worker is driving to the office today with her two little ones. She's delivering orders of Girl Scout Cookies, and I shall have thin mints before the day is over! I'm really excited about seeing my friend, though. In the past year, something has clicked, and she and her hubby have really gotten into fitness and eating better. She's dropped a crazy amount of weight. Enough to where I recognize her if I hadn't already seen pictures. I can't wait for the shock effect to be spread around work when they see my friend for the first time in a few years. :)

Good morning folks

I know I know be still your beating hearts, ive made it hear 3 days in a row now LOL. I cant get over how little activity int he way of posting is going on these days. Its a far cry from what it used to be.

fun: Hmmm I woke up I guess

not so fun: My body ( namely my herniated disc, shoulders and upper back ) are reminding why I hate the treadmill. I hurt more this morning in that area from walking on that stupid thing for 30 minutes last night than I do after I ran/walked the Houston Half a month ago. I give all of you cold weather clmiate folks credit who are forced to run on it on a daily basis.

Moe have fun on your vacation!

Morning, everyone.

Have fun, Moe!

Hooray for awesome co-workers!

I was on a high Tuesday night after I submitted a paper for review, but ever since then I've been a little in the dumps. I'm off to the coffee shop in a few to get working on another paper, but I just want to crawl back in bed. :sigh: If I could live my entire life in my pajamas, I would definitely do that.

The protesters are in full force today and it is expected to be the biggest rally yet. I really need to go down there and open up a beer cart or something.

I will switch places with you, Wippy. Arguing with a programmer over who is right and who is wrong while we all recognize that the thing has to be fixed regardless of whose fault it is is NOT my idea of how to spend the afternoon.

He's wrong by the way. The other guy is right. Not that I care. I just want it fixed.

Ahhhh.. lunch was FABULOUS! Not that lunch itself was all that great.... just from Chic fil A, but it was so great to see my friend again. Her smaller one (just a little over 2) decided I was pretty cool after a while, and her older one and I just had lots of fun talking about girl scouts/brownie stuff. I'm still tickled at how my friend looks. She says she wants to still drop maybe another 25, but she's looking the best that I have EVER seen her. Hot mama! :)

I'm even more excited for her first du next month. Assuming it's not roped off where I can't join, I have volunteered to be a bandit for the last leg, so I can run in with her and give some encouragement when she's likely going to be struggling. She should be a back of the packer, so it's not like I'm going to get in the way or anything, but I am feeling a really big sense of pride right now that I can't explain otherwise. :)

On. cloud. Nine. :) Whee!

Hi all - not sure if it's necessarily fun or not, but I'm back at work grinding away. Such an odd week, and I guess it would be appropriate to have this be the weather forecast for tomorrow (I'm sure you Midwesterners and East Coast types are sick of the stuff, but here it's a rarity to say the least)

ACCORDING TO THE HYDROLOGICAL PREDICTION CENTER 24 HOUR SNOW FALL(!) PROBABILITY DOES INDICATE A 10 TO 20
PERCENT CHANCE OF RECEIVING 1 INCH OR LESS OF SNOW IN THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY BETWEEN 1200Z THE 25TH AND 1200Z THE 26TH. THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA HAS NOT RECEIVED MEASURABLE SNOW IN QUITE SOME TIME HOWEVER THIS IS A VERY COLD AIRMASS AND A FEW SNOW FLURRIES MAY BE EXPERIENCED IN THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA.

Wippy - any new news yet? Looks like you're bubbling with anticipation right now

Maureen - happy vacation vibes to you!

Anyway, better get back to eating lunch - the buffet stuff at the Whole Foods near here is always pretty darn good
