Later for me, too. I'm working from home today so I should have gotten up at my normal time and gotten my run out of the way. Nope. I decided my bed was too comfy and since I didn't sleep well, that extra time in it was warranted.

Ugh, I didn't sleep well last night either. Second night in a row. I didn't run yesterday because I was sleepy, and I'm afraid I'll face the same situation by this evening. But dammit, I'm gonna force myself to run tonight, no matter how tired I am. Just a week and a half until Little Rock...

Sorry for the sucky sleeps for all. I did that 2 nights ago and my running yesterday was The Suck because of it. Rest up folks!

I slept MUCH better last night and got 8 miles done this morning w/ 3x1600m at 5k pace mixed in. Felt good.

I read too fast and thought you asked if she started PACKING yet, and it sent me in to a total state of confusion about when the race was. I'm ok now. Back to your regularly scheduled programming...

Little Miss Evil had to cancel this morning, so I subbed 40 minutes on the elliptical. Tomorrow is 3 with hills. I'm daring myself to try the TM hill workout program. I've been too chicken to press that button. I really don't want to do the fly off the back of the treadmill move, ever, but especially not in front of witnesses.

Good morning people,

4 miles of running and 2 miles of walking during TBL last night. Tycho came down with a 102+ fever overnight, so I'm going to work from home today too. 2011-12 budget process stuff. Fun.

morning

craptastic run last night

The dome was sweltering after the 15 inches of snow we got Sunday and Monday (they crank up the heat to melt it off the top). 3 x 1 mile at 5K pace was rough. Paces weren't bad but I felt ill after.

I also got stuck in the road this morning and was unable to get out my door (due to snow). 8 cars pulled in behind me, saw I was stuck and turned around and left. I eventually had to crawl out the passenger side, walk home and get DH. When he came over with a shovel, then some other guy did help. It was about a 25 min ordeal. I am stressed!

I don't know about boB, but I am ready! It'll be interesting to see how this pans out - first winter/very early spring marathon I've done. Hopefully the winter training translates into a good race!

And yes, I've started peeking at the weather! Somedays it looks good, some days bad (also depends on which weather thingy I look at). Too early for it to be reliable.

Meh, I'm ready enough. I'm not ready to push for a PR, but I never planned on doing that anyway. This is just a training run for the ultra that I'll be doing in April. Other than Minneapolis (when I really did try for a PR), my philosophy has been quantity over quality. In other words, as long I get this one done and get another state checked off my marathon map without hurting myself, I'll call it a success.

I haven't peeked at the weather yet. I got a little booklet from the race in the mail yesterday, and it listed the race day temps from every year going back to the first race in 2003. Most of the temps were fairly reasonable, with a high of 75, I think. Yeah, 75 is sorta warm, especially coming off a cold Winter. But I think I could live with that. And there wasn't anything too terribly cold. The lowest temp was like 50 something. So I don't think the temps will be an issue. Now, just as long as there isn't pouring rain or a tornado or anything... (knock on wood).

I have to say, it makes me kinda sad that so many of "us" aren't around here anymore. We've lost a good number of people lately who were solid contributors to this group. Admittedly, I don't like this new KR forum format, and I haven't been posting as much lately, either -- but I still check in as much as I can. I wish some of our missing peeps would, too!

Duck - I didn't get a chance to mention it the other day, but that was an impressive 14 on the TM!

Brandy -- asshats! Why wouldn't anyone help?! Hope your day got better.

I had a weekend where I just wasn't into my running. GASP! I think it had a lot to do with the severe TOG winds. I could not get motivated to run long in 40 MPH winds. I ran less than planned, but ran, and filled in some gaps by hitting a yoga class on Saturday.

Then I got seriously ill Monday night. I think it was something I ate. I was sick.all.night. No sleep. By morning my system was trying to reset, but I used my entire snow day for recovery from the rough night. Had to skip the yoga class I wanted to take.

Today I managed an easy 5 miler. Legs were fine, but without having much in the way of fuel in me for the past two days, I felt lethargic on the run.
