Where are youuu guys!?

I'm watching today's speedwork evaporate before me as my schedule goes to pieces: I had hoped one of you fast, energetic people would have got here by now with motivation to try to, I dunno, bend time or something.

Have good runs everybody!

I'm feeling the effects of last night's intervals, but that's good, I'm supposed to. Besides, today is a rest day with college football to watch this evening. Go Ducks!

No run yet, I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn, but I had an Echo Cardiagram.

Last week at check up Doc said everything seemed fine.
I asked, "I'm OK the run marathons then, right?"
"Oh sure, sure -good for you."
"What about 30 miles or 50K?"
"Well, I guess....yeah. Why not."
"Would 50 miles be a problem?
"Let me get you an appointment for an Echo Cardiagram. And are you seeing a mental health professional by chance?"
"Oh yes, everyday. I'm married to her"

jjj - .... my MD is a runner. Once I went in to see him and I was about three weeks pre marathon. He looked at my sucked in cheeks and dark circles under the eyes and said "you look like crap .... when's the marathon?"

I slept a few extra minutes today, so I had to hustle to get 10 in. I made it, with time enough to post this!

Sorry to hear, Lab and Mrs. L, about Becky. It hurts to lose our pets.

Thanks for the welcomes back (that's proper grammar, eh? Like "attorneys general"?) I agree, choovie, good giggles to start the day.

MS, thanks for the tips on rowing. I searched the 'net and found a few other w/o tips which I'll try to employ. Years ago, I took a few weeks of instruction in the big boat. We had a "regatta" (loosely termed), where, upon starting, I immediately rowed my seat off the rails. Lucky I didn't get catapulted into the drink. I looked at the instructor in the accomanying put-put, and he said, "Just keep rowing, dammit!" So I rowed like my arms were on fire. We almost took out the pier (on my no-slacking side) but placed second overall! Quality regatta, you can see.

I don't know whether to row or pool run today. PT tomorrow. I'm hoping for some good news.

my condolences too, Lab...losing pets that are part of the family hurts a lot...my dad still has one of our cats (very, very old now)-but 'Briefcase' is still apurrin'. (His brother Suitcase is long gone now...)

2 of my patients are still recovering a bit more slowly than I'd like-one in the CCU (double valve/CABG) and one on the monitored floor (MV repair). The second is only 29 and she isn't very happy with the world, or me, right now. (Just finished her first 1/2marathon at Hartford immediately prior to needing this surgery) unexpectedly. So no early am run for me, but I hope to impersonate a drowned rat again this afternoon at the track.

KS, I'm sorry about your car troubles. Thank God your daughter wasn't injured...but having to shell out $$$ to fix or buy a new one has to hurt.

Hup, good news about no rock in your shoe today. I always helps to remove them...sooner rather than later.

I'm feeling rather low today...no run for me. My tooth, or rather, my jaw, has been hurting something terrible. I called the dentist back this morning and he saw me right away. Turns out I have a dry socket. He packed it with something, which caused nauseating pain, but it does feel better now. (I guess I should be thankful that I'm not dtoce's 29 year old patient with a heart problem...I hope she recovers well, btw).

Good running, everyone. Hopefully I'll be among the running again soon.

Morning Masters!

Welcome Back SS - it was nice to see your post yesterday.

Lab - I'm so sorry about the loss of Becky. Sounds like she led a nice, full, and pampered life. It still hurts to lose out pet family members, even when we know it's their time.

JJJ - funny dialogue! Glad you got the ok to run those crazy distances!

KS - are you a Jayhawk? I was almost a Jayhawk. I visited that university and visited another one - Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. I ultimately chose Concordia - closer to home (only a 4 hr drive) and in-state tuition. But I loved KU as well.

I was planning on a 6 mile run after work tonight at the gym. But, DH is pretty sick and asked if I'd just come home because he'll be pretty wiped out by about dinner time. So, once again, my plans changed at the last minute. Which is fine - I need to take care of my husband. But this is an example of why I don't participate on the weekly thread, as much as I would like to be able to - to be able to say "this is my plan for the week" and be able to stick to it. Things always go awry and I'm constantly having to juggle my time around. Does this sound like complaining? I'm not complaining at all. It's just the way life is at times.

Have a good day all!

Horrible rainy weather here in NY and it took me 1 hr 20 mins to drive to a meeting this am (about 30 miles away). Torrential rain and several accidents on the road. Ugh. I'll be running on the treadmill at the gym this evening after work, even though I hate going to the gym in the evenings. Too many teens on their cells & louder music and it feels somewhat like a meat market. I just don't like the atmosphere. But I'll crank up the mp3 and hopefully zone out on the treadmill.

Tomorrow morning is PT again, and then Sat should be yoga. Sunday is my 5K Turkey Trot & I'll get DH to take a pic.

Good runs to you all,
Lab & Mrs. Lab, my sincere condolences on the loss of Becky. Enjoy the memories.

{{{{{ lab & mrs lab}}}}}

Welcome back SS to the green part of the world.

Linda, sorry you won't make the turkey trot, I'll run a couple miles for ya.

3 set of 4 hill repeats. The "hill" is 1000 feet long and gains 100 feet, according to the garmin. Charged the hill and jogged back down. Repeat 4 times. Then go on a one mile jog. Repeat the whole process two more times. 8.38 miles at a slow overall pace, 11:04. Got the HR to 160 or thereabouts near the top of the hill.

Picking up out of town company later today. May be MIA for a few days, or not.

dtoce - your job must be stressful. As a pastor I spend much time visiting our church members and often dont' have adequate answers for them.

Tamster - I am not a KU grad but love all "ks" sports teams especially KU basketball.

Thanks runninb - I like the "hunting" of the new vehicle (read provider here) but hate paying for it. (((runninb's tooth/jaw)))

McSolar -"raindrops keep falling on my head ......." Hope that sticks all day.

ks, i listened to nearly two hours of arabic music during my run; i've tried singing raindrops over and over in my head; i've even tried singing "it's a small world after all"

unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately is a better term, today i'm stuck with chrissie hynde moaning and groaning and repeating over and over to me that "...bad boys get spanked." one of those days... so i decided, why fight it? please, please, hurt me chrissie...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eE9x0Ahlcz0
