<p>Hey, where is <strong>Crane</strong>? The husband of one of the knitters (who is a knitter himself) is deaf, and can pretty much only talk to his wife. What's a good book or resource I can learn some signs from so I can talk to him a little? (I can do the alphabet, but painfully slowly as it's been a long time since I learned. But I know there are faster ways than to spell everything out.)</p>

<p>I'm working from home a bit then heading up to our cabin for the weekend.  Got out for 4 slooooow miles today, the footing was treacherous even by my standards.  I found about a 1/4 mile stretch that was decent, so I did that back and forth, back and forth, until I couldn't stand it anymore!  <span><img alt="BangHead.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/BangHead.gif"></span></p>

Hi guys. I didn't run yesterday. I worked late, then got stuck in traffic on the way home, then just didn't feel like it. So I'm still 2 miles short of a new yearly mileage PR with about 36 hours left in the year. I think I can still make it...<br><br>
I'll be at a friend's place in CT for NYE. That certainly means I won't be running the same New Years Day 5k that I've done the last coule years. But I found one in CT nearby. And it should be nice weather on Saturday. So I think I'll do it. I didn't go to any parties the last couple years, so there were no hangover issues on those previous Jan 1 races. We'll see what happens this time...

<p>ran 6 last night with the pup - her farthest this season and it was the day after doggy daycare to boot!  I have a half day today so we'll see about a run during what is passing as daylight today.  I am not looking forward to running in the rain..cold cold rain.  This weekend is going to be a bust with the freezing rain followed by snow.  boooooooo</p>

<p>Due to work requirements Fri-Sun I did my long run today.  10 miles.  Same route I've done the last two Sundays.  Today I was almost 5 minutes faster (and not trying) than the best time 2 weeks ago.  Amazing what good footing will do - we no have ZERO snow on the ground and it's in the 40s today.</p>

<p>Well I have started them and today was the firs set of drills.  I only hope thee remaining 6 or so lessons go this smoothly!! </p>

<p>I tried running today, we'll see what happens later with that choice--I'm a wee bit nervous.  It took me 5 minutes to figure out how to get on and tie my shoes without bending my back at all, but I got it done.  Slow running seems fine, it's just the whole don't bend over kind of thing.  Runners are crazy, but at least we run!</p>

<p>On a fun note, even though I'm freaking out since they are changing my shoe, I found 2 pairs on clearance!  Sweet, cheap shoes!  Yay!</p>

<p>I'm 1.2 miles away from 800 miles for the year. Paltry in comparison to some, and 100 miles less than last year.  I'm going to set a 1000 mile goal for 2011.</p>

<p>3 miles on the gym treadmill on my lunch hour today.  I went to the downtown gym for a change of scenery.  I don't know how much I'll be getting to the gym after this since the place will be overrun with resolutioners.  I've skipped January altogether the past couple years because the gym got so ridiculous.  But I really don't want to slack now that I've got my mojo back. Soooo, someone pointed out to me that we do have some degree of flexibility here and I could go early like 9:30 and miss the lunch hour rush, so I might give that a whirl.</p>

<p>I'm running a Resolution Run 5k on New Years Day.  No time goals since the weather and footing are forecast to be super crap. They give a nice jacket out for this race, the price tag on it says $79.99.  The one I have from a previous year was more of a windbreaker and this one is thick like neoprene? Am I thinking of the right fabric? The black cuffs at the ends of the sleeves have thumbholes! And you can see the zippered ipod pocket near the collar. It's really nice!  AND it's orange!  Someone here at work saw it and asked me if I hunt.  hehe.</p>

<p><strong>Jen</strong> - thanks for asking -- the calf is ok.  I'm running ok, and today I actually ran 6 miles sort of speedy (relatively speaking), but it is deformed from the Graston work and I don't have 100% confidence in it yet...   Hope your back stuff heals up quickly!  BTW, remind me what your shoes are again?  I'll see if we have any at the store... </p>

<p>Evening all!  Spent a bit longer inside today than originally intended but I got a good amt of work done + everything unpacked from OBX + the apt cleaned up.  Anywho, caught the tail end of a very pretty sunset over the Hudson tonight on a 8.2 mile run.  Only thing between me and 2500 miles for the year is a last run planned for tomorrow ending at the Doughnut Plant!!!   <strong>MISSY</strong>!!!  -- any chance you can be a part of this!?!?!?</p>

<br><br><p> 10 miles on the plane??  That's a lot of times up and down the aisle!  The other passengers were probably getting pretty pissed off!</p>

<p>I did 5.4 miles on the TM at the gym, which means I finally passed my 2009 mileage total that I've been boring you guys with for the past week or two.  And I've got one more day to pad my new mileage PR.  :D</p>

<p>Hey all.  Got out for a 5.3 mile run today, in the glorious 46 degree weather here in Virginia.  I'm about 8 miles away from breaking 1800 miles for the year.  Planned long run tomorrow morning. </p>
