Good news is, my day was less teh suck as it went on yesterday. Bad news is, I couldn't post to tell you about it.

I'm at work but I feel kinda blah. Achy and a bit of a sore throat. I have a few things that have to get done today but if I still feel blah later, I may leave early. I have gobs of sick time that I never use.

Not fun: Not o nly does my personal office not have heat, but today the secretaries' area heater was turned off. The maintenance guy helped me locaTE THE BREAKER (oops), but it will take hours for warm air to come out, RFigjht now it's spewinmg cold air.
 
Not fun: Consequently, it's 51 degrees in my office right now. Yeah.
 
Fun: I am typinmg with my gloves on. <img alt="biggrin.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/biggrin.gif" style="width:16px;height:16px;"> And my coat a nd huige scaRF, but they are not ik mpacting the typos like the gloves aRE.

I don't know what's going on today. I really should pick up & clean. But I'm all achey from torquing everything yesterday, and trying to follow Chiro's orders and not do too much to keep everything in place. (It's not a good sign when he pokes at your back and says "Wow. Why didn't you call me?")

Sweet, thanks Wippy. Add me to the list of those who has never done a Christmas letter. I love reading them, but have never put pen to paper to get a good one out.
 
Fun: James, Jake and I appear to have escaped the nasty flu bug! So today is my last day of work and 3 of us are off to Atlanta tomorrow!
 
Not fun: I am SLAMMED at work (of course) and have way too much to do. Why does this always seem to happen before vacation?
 
Theia - that is awful. I would not be working well in 51 degrees.
 
Moe - hope you are less mad today re your work situation and I hope your mom is doing well.
 
Bard - I hope you feel better. Wip - are you feeling any better today?
 
Any updates on Grayson? Missy? Torque?
 
We are almost done with 2010. Hard to believe.

no really!!! I wrote the letter at work last year so I think because I have so much going on at work now I just couldn't think of anything to write!!

I feel a bit better but my bones still ache and there are GI things going on that I've never had happen before so I'm with out a fever which is awesome but still not out of the woods yet

I actually have some of my christmas cards written out and sitting, stamped, waiting to be mailed. You'll get them eventually, promise!
 
At work again today. With nothing to do. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. (I hope this means I can stay a half day and go home and not come in the rest of the week. We shall see.)
 
Did anyone watch What Not To Wear last night? I don't think I've laughed that hard in weeks. She was great, totally nerdy scientist (BEAKER, she was a post doc at Rutgers in Biochem, working on algae as biofuel!), but she was beautiful and they did such a great job with her.
 
Theia, I HATE being cold at work! I've been in offices that get down to the 50s and it SUCKS.

 What was up with the baby talk??? What a whackadoo. (A brilliant whackadoo, but a whackadoo nonetheless.) It is my not-so-secret dream to get made over by Stacey and Clinton someday. I so totally <3 them.

OH!!! I knew there was something else I was going to tell Theia. None of the offices I've worked in have ever been able to regulate the temperature so it was comfortable. I was either freezing under an AC vent, or the heat didn't work or whatever. So I kept a heating pad at my desk (space heaters were against the fire code) and used to sit on it or put it on the back of my chair or whatever, to help keep me warm.

 I have a feeling she had a physical issue that caused the funny voice. But I just loved her. And she embraced the change. Good for her!

(OTOH, I'm wearing: thin cream wool socks that I bought in high school with my teal flats, skinny jeans, a print v-neck blouse, dk teal big silk scarf and a royal blue down vest at my desk. C&S would have a field day with me today.)

I thought so at first too, but toward the end she said something about maybe being able to lose the baby voice or something. But you're right; she had a great attitude about it, and she really was stunning at the end. I love that show. Did you see the one with the Texas bombshell who totally wasted the $5,000? She went right back to her old clothes and hairstyle as soon as she got home. I was so pissed at her!

Kathleen, a heating pad is a great idea. Space heaters are totally contraband in my office too, but since I have no other option everyone kinda looks the other way.... I also have no a/c all summer. Last year (my first year here) I wore tank tops and skirts all summer. By lunchtime every day, sweat was dripping down my back, so I refused to wear anything nice (read: dry clean only).

Funny about thee space heaters. They are absoluetly forbidden at my work. The building I work in is LEED certified, and if you plug in a space heater it will blow the circuit. IF it doesn't then the building registers that one space is too warm and it cools the surrounding area... making everyone cold! Viscious cycle.

hi all,
 
been a llittle MIA since i started work... i worked the nights of the 24th and 26th so christmas was quiet for us. sister left yesterday, mom leaves tomorrow, a new nanny has been hired, and AK seems to be improving a tad on her new meds.
 
going back to work has been good and hard for me at the same time. along w/ my 90 min commute one way, i'm out of the house about 30 hrs a week which is a lot for working part time! i do, however, enjoy using my brain, engaging in adult interaction... plus i like my job so very much. i'm taking it one week at a time.
 
anyhow. need to read up and catch up on the ongoings of everyone else. can you believe 2011 is practically here???

Good afternoon all and Merry Christmas!!!! Still playing catch up on the threads from my time away but it looks like lots of great stuff around here. The family and I had a phenomenal week in OBX including plenty of snow the day after Christmas. The giant green house served us well again and I am beyond thankful for the time and the running partners during that time. I'll be working on organizing everyone's photos from the trip as well as J's multiple videos and let you know once they're all together.

Feeling better than I did this morning. The sore throat isn't due to strep or anything. It is something I've had before but never knew what it was until today, when I <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tonsillolith" target="_blank">googled it</a>. Huh. Always wondered what those things were.
