Good morning all.

An excellent start to my morning. 4 miles with 4 X 400 Hill repeats. The hill was gradual with about 45 feet of elevation. My repeats were 1:27, 1:31, 1:26, 1:30. First set of repeats since injury to knee.

Hope everyone has a great day. I am off to the Garage now to ride and watch a movie.

Nice going Dave. Is you knee completely healed?

Gonna hit the bike again today though today's the first day where I really have to concentrate to feel anything in the area of my injury. I want at least one full day of feeling nothing there before running. Looks like it could be this weekend

Would someone go over to active and save Baba?

See ya'll later.

Dan - Unfortunately I don't think it will be ever healed. The pain will always be there. Some days will be just better than others. 38 yrs old and the joint is degenerative. Oh well, will just keep seeing the dr. until they decide what to do. He told me to continue running. So I am and just shortening the distance. At least until they give me a new one.

Flounder - Be careful out there.

Richard - Have a good run later.

Tonya & Phil - Hope the reunion was good.

Great ride on the bike. Just spinning away. 10 miles in 34 minutes.

With how I've been feeling I took my unwillingness to get out of bed as a sign I should take an off-day. What's the point of a recovery week if I'm not recovering right? Well hopefully tomorrow things turn around and I can get some good runs on the treadmill. See you guys in a few days and behave while I'm gone!

Good morning all!

I was all suited up for the run last night, but I didn't step out into the 22F air. It was my fourth day off due to the flu. The good news is that I'm ready to run today and I hope that my patience, and being a good patient, will pay off with a speedy return to base building miles. I am a little bummed about taking a step-back week during this phase, but what else can I do? Tonight I'm running.

For those who are new to KR, be sure to check out the VRAA forum. You all will fit great into the game. Registration is now open and you can sign-up at this thread here. The game is easy to play, motivating, and a fun way to meet other members of the forum.

I hope to see you there. Nice running!

Not sure on the plan today - probably a few easy miles and some weights/core. If I'm feeling enthusiastic, I'll put in 30-40mins on the bike trainer.

Brief post here... I'm home for just a few hours before we head back up to Grandma's.

THANK YOU to who ever moved hubby's post to the daily thread!!! I was zipping down the highway with quite a bit of "tailwind", and trying to walk hubby through posting. Glad that the post was seen and then moved. I got the call at 8:30 and was on the road at 8:40--no time to post it myself.

Christmas night was rather rough. Got to bed very, very late. Calls to make, then noone really wanted to go to bed.

Wednesday was another rough day. I was up very early to get in a run. Not sure on distance, since for some reason the garmin doesn't track well. Anyway, ran past the house where I grew up and an out-and-back on the main N/S sidestreet. 37mins.

Rest of the day was quite busy making arrangements. I stayed behind to "answer the phone". Actually, I was there to clean the house... YUCK! But, it needed done. Then, spent time with my aunt arranging the post funeral dinner. I started feeling pretty crumy late int he day, but figured I was just tired.

Got up this morning quite ill. But, of course, I went for a run. 30min very flat run. Same basic route, except headed further south. To cap it off, I ran the .36m loop around my grandparent's neighborhood a couple of times. For years, Grandpa would run 10m 6 days a week on this loop. Grandma used to just shake her head at this. Grandpa was a jewler and worked out of the hosue. Many times, a customer would come and Grandma would have to flag Grandpa down. He'd do the transaction, then get right back out there!

Sorry no time to comment. I'm home for just a bit. I have a doctor's appt this afternoon. Need to buy decent clothes ofr the kids to wear to the funeral. And, need to bake 12 dozen cookies... Then, back up to Grandma's. Don't get me wrong--I love my Grandma and am glad I can help her out. But, at the same time, ti's really taking it out of me.

Mom - My prayer go out to you and your family. Use that swimming, cycling, & running to help reduce the stress. Take care of your self during this difficult time.

Hey everyone,

Mom - I know what you are going through. The entire year of 2007 has taken so much out of me. Phillip and I were just talking about that this morning before I came to work. Don't let it run your life. Just do what you can and move on. And Dave's right--let your activities help with the stress. It really helps, I promise.

Dan - Glad to see you are almost back in the game. Saddle up!

Nirvana - Nice to see you, consecutively.

Dave and Richard - Yes, very much needed reunion. We are vowing never to do that again. Holidays = Phillip and Tonya together. BTW Dave, I did read that post over there in Cool Running. That's pretty interesting what people say about the pace not really mattering, don't you think?

Alex - Rest up. Get well. Do better.

Good job on the runs, the rest of you.

Again, I lied. Yesterday I posted that it would be an off day for me, mainly because I hadn't gotten out of bed by 10:30 am, I had errands to run, etc. Well, I decided to fit in a little 65 minute run. Saw some of my old running friends, so it was a nice time. Anyway, ran the first 30 minutes at usual 7:53 min pace and decided it felt like I was walking. Sped it up some and ran the last 35 minutes at 7:30 min pace.

Total run: 8.53 miles, 65:25

Today the plan could include some speed work, but we'll have to see how I feel once on the treadmill downstairs. I may wait until tomorrow to do it. I'm going to do it sometime between now and Sunday, though, I know that. So stay tuned.
