Moe good luck today with your new adventure!!! im sure it will be great!!!

anybody else think about alarmocide this morning?

beer can chicken is the shizzle, boys and girls. though i learned a lesson about whole chickens and what is inside of them. i felt like Survivor(wo)man.

now i just have to hang on for dear life until Christmas vacation!!!

Tim been thinking about your cheer leading thing. As far as the parents who are giving you fits, sadly (and I know this is of little comfort) that's just part of working with a group. when I taught small group communications, that person was called the despicable member (which i could barely say without snickering...). My concern is for these girls who are not only seeing dysfunctional ways of working out group issues, but who are also physically taking a beating that is totally unnecessarily. After Disney, I wonder if Litchgirl might want to take a run or two with Pop and maybe try a new sport or hobby for a while? Be a great chance to teach her that part of being grown is becoming well rounded (for instance...how fun would daddy be if he only worked or only cut the grass or only made dinner?).

look. its the pirate face.

wonderful days, all!

Ugh, what a crappy day. It's a cold, dreary Monday. Sheesh...

Enjoy the new job, Moe!

Thanks, Solar. We really all had a great day yesterday. The only thing wrong with yesterday was that today (i.e. cold, dreary Monday) followed it...

Tonight I gotta get my butt in gear and update my websites. I gotta get more pics of Jillian online, and I get my write-up of the Philly weekend done. I will do my best to get moving on those tonight.

Later, all...

Have a great first day Maureen!

Thanks for the dancing banana Solar. That always gives me a little chuckle!

Beer can chicken? Sounds good. Would you post the recipe, Mandy?

Today is DD2's 5th birthday. It feels like we have been celebrating it for weeks already. Just the time of year. While she's at school, DD1 and I are going to get out nails done, since she doesn't have school today. Should be a fun day all around for us.

Have a great day everyone!

Mornin' gang! Doing some laundry here...checking out the weekend threads. Gotta find me some breakfast soon.

QOD Do you put up a Christmas tree? If so, when? I've been itching to put mine up now. I just love how they look and I like to get lots of viewing time out of it. Plus, I think Lena will really enjoy all the lights and colors.

Speaking of Lena...she's sitting up all by herself now! Yay!

Good luck with the new job today Maureen!

Oh...and speaking of new jobs...I got a call on friday about one close to my home town. I don't know if you remember, but DH and I have been wanting to move back for quite a while now so we can be nice and close to family and friends. I applied for something a couple of weeks ago. I've been shortlisted for an interview so we'll see how that goes!

Good morning all. I wish you the best with the new job Moe.

Ugh..... do we have to go back to work after the 4 day weekend?

How come Heroes only has 2 episodes left? There were over 20 episodes in season one and this makes for only like 13 this year. Very odd. I do understand that most shows that will have a chance at syndication will have multiple of 13 episodes (1/4 a year if rebroadcast to make it nice and clean for tv stations to schedule). I suppose I just want more Heroes.

Well let's make the most of our Monday gang. Good day to you all.

QOD I am on my own so no tree until last year when I was given a small, electric tree (one of those with the fiber optic? needles that change colors). I did plug it up last year. BUT at my parents house they have a small artificial tree. We used to have a big one but with their age and health it doesn't make sense to have a huge tree to have to deal with when a small one will do just as well. I had plenty of years where we enjoyed the huge trees. Good memories.

Maureen - luck with the job!

Maples - there are more episodes in the spring. TV executives have finally figured out that people like watching multiple new episodes in a row so NBC is showing Heroes in blocks this year. It will return with new episodes in the spring.

QOD - Family rule #1 as I was growing up is that Christmas decorations didn't really start until after (or close to it) my birthday. Since we're having Christmas this year we (ok, I did) decided to put the tree up the weekend of the 8th/9th that way we get to enjoy it and Christmas doesn't intrude on my birthday.

Not much else going on here. Just trying to make it to the end of the semester in two weeks.

I'm loving Heroes and I can't wait til tonight's show! Are they done after 2 episodes? Or are they just taking a break? I think they did that last year, didn't they? Have a break in between new episodes?

I've been having odd dreams the last couple of days.

Good morning!

Just jumping in really quick, while taking a quick break from reading/responding to e-mails from being gone since before Philly.

I posted a link to my photos from Philly in the photos thread last night, in case anyone missed it.

QOD- I have an artificial tree (prefer real, but too expensive and it's just me anyway) and usually put it up on the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. Last year I did not put it up, as I was in a major funk from Thanksgiving on. I did put up a little teeny tabletop tree. This year, no funk, but may just stick with the teeny tree anyway. My other decorations are hard to get to right now.

Good morning all on a wet and dreary Monday morning.

Yes, me!!

Today I start holiday mode. Gotta get all my lists together ... gift list, card list, to do list, cookie list, etc. What fun!!

I've heard this is wonderful but still have never tried it. My friend calls it Beer Butt Chicken.

Moe, good luck on your first day.

QOD: Yes, a fresh one every year. My favorite is concolor fir because it smells like oranges. Methinks we'll go get one this weekend.

Heroes: My absolute favorite show and I cannot wait for tonight's episode!!! Maples, you can always keep up with the story via the nbc website. They have those online novels for fans between seasons.

Mornin' Gang.

Maureen - I am thinking of you today.

Happy Monday.

Waitin' for boss #2 to come in so I can give the other half of my notice. This is the one I've been worried about - but really, what's the worst he can do?! (Please don't answer that. )

Realized that I had finals week wrong, I thought it was two weeks before Christmas, nope - week before Christmas. My last week of work and the week of the trial for which I am helping. Because that's the way my life is going right now.

Have a meeting at school this afternoon to learn the details of the trip. That should be really interesting.

QOD We have an artificial and since I'm the one who puts it up and takes it down, we won't be putting it up this year. My parents still get a real one, though so Christmas Eve I'll get my fix.

MOE!!! Happy New Job Day! You are going to be great. Stop in when you can.

KP-If you haven't, please post your bday on our calendar so we don't forget!

QOD-- We have two trees, but both little. We put one outside for the birds and squirrels with suet and popcorn strings and one inside with white, glittery lights for us. The one inside is fake. The one outside is potted and then we plant it in the spring.

Heroes--may it also have something to do with the writer's strike? A few of my wayyycoolerthanme HS friends who live the show biz life have taken a hit for sure.
(I mean...money wise...not the other kind, although probably that, too...)

ETA: MaryT--keep in mind that people may react badly to your leaving because they LIKE you don't want to lose you, even if he acts marfy about it. If your boss said "oh, well, whatever..." that wouldn't be good, either!

(Marfy, btw, is a new word I made up to describe others who act kind whiny and generally unpleasant)

QOD - We were a 'real' tree family for years, but we had collapses two years in a row, with some damaged ornaments of great sentimental value. We have an artificial tree now. I put up all of our out door decorations this past weekend, and took all of the others out of the attic, except the tree. Not sure when the tree will be up. Next weekend is insane.
