11/11 Thursday Fun (?)

Or not. I'm wide awake. Have been wide awake for the last 2+ hours, thanks to the latest reject letter yesterday evening when I got home from knitting.
 
I've never had this much trouble finding a job. It's annoying. <img alt="" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/huh.gif" title=""> I know something good will come out of this eventually, it's just getting old and I'm annoyed with it.

I'm up extra early for a educational seminar I'm giving for my clinical instructors. It's nerve-racking for me. Kath - I am continually boggled by how long it's taking others to see how wonderful and creative you are.

Slightly annoying: Yesterday evening, I was having trouble (when there was no fire) getting the door to close back. Opening is no problem, but it's like the grooves aren't lined up quite right and you need a lot of shoving power to get the door closed. Do-able for me with no fire, but with most of the surface being too hot to touch with a fire going.....
 
I'll go by the fireplace store on Friday to look at their floor model and I'll give them a buzz today. It's possible that the door issues are just operator error, but I don't want to start a fire and then not be able to close the damn stove! <img alt="smile.gif" class="bbcode_smiley" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies//smile.gif">

morning all
shampoo'ed my the carpet in the living room last night, I fear there is no hope for survival. I'm going to give it another go tonight to see if I can get anything else out of it. 
 
Not to much going on here. C is coming down tomorrow after work and we're spending the weekend together, on Saturday my friend Nick is celebrating his 3rd year of bar ownership so we are going to go and celebrate with him. 
 
Next week is my friend Emily's wedding and I'm super excited because I've never been to a country club wedding before. 
 
Then it's turkey weekend and after that we fly out to CA and I'm stupid excited to head out there again.
 
Things are moving along nicely and I'm excited to see where things go in the next year. 
 
BEAKS!! I'm sorry to hear about you being sick, hopefully you'll recover nicely and wont have anymore problems through out the pregnancy.
 
MR. T I keep hoping your son pulls his head out of his arse and comes home. I'm guessing once he realizes how good he had it he'll come back. Just give him a little time to figure out that being an adult isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Pretty fire place!
 
Spent some time squished between the boys. After a while Jack's heavy breathing worked its magic and I slept for a couple hours. But then someone started to stare at me intensely with his nose about an inch away from mine to make sure I was still alive. <img alt="" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/roll_eyes.gif" title=""> poke poke poke

Funny - listening to Dh order literally tons of food supplies for Thanksgiving week for work, including a few hundred pounds of lard. The lard will be gone in a 24 hour period. <img alt="" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/lol.gif" title=""> and eeeeeeeeeeeew.

morning peeps.
 
I slept well, but I forgot to turn off an appt reminder I'd set for a haircut I rescheduled...and it went off at 6:30. Since I have today off (Veteran's Day), I reeeeeally didn't need to wake up that early (I don't even on a work day), so that sorta stunk. I did get back to sleep eventually.
 
I am taking the nei-phews to the Aquarium today! first time I've ever taken them out on my own, which is a little scary, since we're taking the train downtown, I'll be responsible for both getting in and out the bathroom, etc etc. But my friend lent me her member pass, so if we only go for an hour, it's fine. But I needed as much sleep as I could get!
 
Going to supper tonight with some old coworkers from the VA...I'm looking forward to seeing them. One of them actually works at BU like me now, but he's at the medical campus and we've only been able to get together once since I started working there.

No work for me today (Rememberance Day). I was asked to participate in the official ceremonies at the War Memorial near Parliament, but there was an administrative glitch. Only one pass was procured for our organization, so the senior officer I was going to accompany was left to lay the wreath on his own. I'm a little disappointed, but I'm consoled myself by staying in bed late and staying in my pjays for the remainder of the morning.
 
I'm going to go get my back brakes changed later.

That leaf pile reminds me of a story from the other day. OSU has people use leaf blowers to gather leaves into piles before they do whatever with them to haul them away. So a pile was left along a sidewalk right behind my building. Some students decided to have a little fun. They hid themselves in the leaf pile and jumped out at people passing by. One of my coworkers had it happen to her and after her heart rate settled back down, she thought it was hilarious. Apparently the students were doing it all afternoon, some of my other coworkers watched it happening while in a meeting in the conference room. Wish I'd seen it. <img alt="smile.gif" class="bbcode_smiley" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies//smile.gif"> It's fun being on a college campus.
 
I have the day off work today, and I too slept in. Woke up with a headache, which also happened yesterday. I'm trying to drink more water because I am absolutely certain that I am dehydrated. I haven't been drinking much other than my morning cup of coffee lately. Gonna get a shower here in a few minutes (just got back from my run) and run some errands.

Kath - that is irritating - hopefully the right thing will come along soon.
 
Fun: Recall my friend that got into the bad accident? He just stopped in at DH's office. He is not out of the hospital yet, but will be soon. No fun - he was really anxious and nervous. The world is very different for him now and um, riding in the van has to be a nightmare.
 
Fun #2: I thought we were going to settle a patent marking case, but we didn't. So I get to go argue in federal court on Monday in PA. No fun: being away for 2 days. But it will be fun.
 
Fun #3: Our big GOTR 5K is on Saturday! WOOO HOOOO! The girls are beyond excited. No fun: it is supposed to be 40 degrees, windy and rainy. We decided last night though that we are mentally tough enough to get out there and do it with smiles on our faces!

If you and Hubby aren't doing anything saturday night my friends bar Dexter's Pub ( the old Stevens/ Sand Lot) on North and E Johnson is having their 3 year party. A bunch of us are meeting there at 7 and staying for probably the rest of the night. 
 
 
I can't even imagine what your friend is going thru, what a hellish experiance and with the holidays comeing up I'm sure it's only going to get harder for him.
