The previous photo + this one indicates where the wrap-around sofa set was. That left very little room to actually move into the living room, itself. The other big wall was taken up 100% by the entertainment center.

I still swear that I hate painting, but I'm very glad that I decided to start the project, as I think the living room looks so much better now! Yarr!

Looks great, Ailarie. I agree painting is torture, but it's the cheapest form of renovations you can do and one that gets the most bang for your buck.
 
This weekend was sucky. DS decided to quit hockey.....after I dropped 1700.00 on a new set of goalie pads. Anyone want to buy some pads?

So I changed the title but seems the change is only appearing when you open the thread...hmmmm...I will work on that!
 
Busy busy weekend. Spent a huge amount of time Sat at the aquarium and children's garden with Aiden. Had a blast but man it wiped me out! Then had to suffer through a Phils loss (meh, I am still happy, after the start we had this season, it was a huge feat to come back and make the post season at all!). Yesterday was rough. I am officially in the "ridiculously uncomfortable stage" and can't sleep. I got about 3 hours total Sat night and Aiden decided to wake early on Sun. Morning was challenging to say the least. I was supposed to meet Solar for coffee but it didn't happen. At one point I was so flustered I called DH in tears. Not my finest hour. 
 
But good news is this week officially starts my 4 day work weeks, woot woot! I will be taking every Fri off till baby comes and have a really fun list of things to do each week! Yipee!!
 
Ailarie it looks fantastic!! Yep, a coat of paint can really transform a room!!

Baseball. I'm quite surprised with the outcomes of the LCS's. Before the playoffs began, I was pretty certian that it would be Yankees vs Phillies in the World Series. I was more sure about the Phillies pick becuase they were on such a roll at the end of the regular season. And then they blew past Cincinnati, with a no-hitter in the mix. I am amazed that they lose to the Giants. As for the Yankees, yeah, they weren't exactly on fire at the end of the season. But Texas had no playoff experience, the Rays have very little depth, and the Twins just can't beat the Yanks. So I thought they would be able to get thru. Well, that shows you what I know. This is why I don't bet on sports...
 
I'm sure the ratings for the World Series are going to be a nightmare for Fox. Last Monday, the Yankees-Rangers game, with Cliff Lee on the mound, went up against a Monday Night Football game between to medicore small-market teams, Jacksonville and Tennessee. And the football game killed the baseball game in the TV ratings. And that was with the Yankees playing! A Giants-Rangers World Series is going to do abyssmal ratings.

Oiy.. how could I forget how loopy benadryl makes me. Decided to bite the bullet and use some, as the cooler air / dry temps have done a number on my sinuses. I am completely loopy at the office now. ><

I had a great weekend with a friend, with football, a run, and a trip to a haunted house (an attraction, not a "real" one) in the mix. That was the 1st time I'd ever gone to a haunted house. Now that I've done it once, not sure I'll do it again. It was OK, I guess, but I was annoyed by the screaming teenaged girls in front of me and was only startled once or twice. I guess I just can't suspend disbelief enough for those things to work well on me (same problem I have with horror films) and I'm not that into blood and gore for its own sake.
 
Ailarie- love the yellow, it was a good choice.
 
Wippy- yay for great weekend #2. I hope things keep going well for you.

looooooooong day for me today (and yesterday, frankly.)
 
Got home from the theatre about an hour ago...got there around 10:30 this morning. Before that, I went to see my nephew's peewee football game. Hilarious, but cold! I finally clicked the heat on today. Between standing on the sidelines this morning, then going to the freezing cold theatre...when I popped into my house to take Penny out this afternoon, I just couldn't take it anymore (my apt was 55*, now it's a toasty 62* <img alt="" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/lol.gif" title="">).
 
OMG, the show that I'm working on looks AMAZING! We built a circus tent IN the hall (it's not upstairs in the actual theatre, but in the reception hall on the 1st floor.) All the costumes are done as of today and look good (I'm thrilled they are done already, let me tell you.) We've got a popcorn machine for the front hall and jugglers lined up so when people arrive it'll really seem like they're coming to the circus, and we found some old drops that have circus themes that we're reusing in the space. So cool.

I am exhausted this morning. Talked to The Guy last night after midnight, and both of us were falling asleep, although as soon as i hung up the phone, I was awake. <img alt="" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/roll_eyes.gif" title=""> I read for 10 mins, and then fell asleep. Got up on time this morning, actually made a latte for myself at home, and packed up breakfast for the week, walked Penny, and got to work a little early...wonders will never cease!
 
Ugh, Lori, hopefully you can get some rest later today, or sleep in on Fri.

Torque, my little nephew started hockey last year but hated it...now he wants to try again. My sis is more than ok with him NOT doing hockey since it's expensive plus practice is often and early. Of course, when I was at his football game the other day, watching him run the wrong way and generally avoiding any contact with the ball, my sis said to me, "ya know, I did sports as a kid, [BiL] did sports, go you think it's genetic...and skipped a generation??"

Love the living room, Ailarie! Last night I took down all the window treatments and pictures on the first floor. Today our friend is coming over to rip off all the crappy trim we have and paint the ceilings! He'll start on the walls tomorrow, then new trim on Wednesday! Yay! I forgot to take the "before" pictures, but will snap some "half way" pics tonight.

Coffee not happening was as much a result of my chaotic morning as yours -- wtf was up with Sunday morning???!!! <img alt="" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/biggrin.gif" style="width:16px;height:16px;" title=""> Besides, it's my turn to come to you, and with work that was going to be tough anyway.

The baseball playoffs did amuse me, in that I was rooting for the Giants and Rangers, just like always. Except it was in baseball and not football\hockey.
 
Went to the Dr. this AM. I am in the boot for another week. No driving. Which means I am working from home. And the doctors and pathologists still are not entirely sure what was the causew of my "thing". Some type of foreign body, like a splinter or metal shard, could cause the growth, except those are usually surface issues, or come form significant trauma (like embedded shrapnel). As my podiatrist said this AM, you think you have seen everything in this business, and then you see something you have never seen before. <img alt="" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/rolleyes.gif" style="width:16px;height:16px;" title=""> 

 
Guess I just have to be different.

I'm seeing someone who works 1 mi across the river from me, and lives 45 mi away...whom I see once a week most of the time (and some weeks, not at all.) Unfortunately in our case, proximity doesn't make him any closer. <img alt="sad.gif" class="bbcode_smiley" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies//sad.gif">

Morning!
 
I was planning to spend a good amount of time in the studio this morning before my chiro appmt, but Sisterleenie called needing to vent, so I'm behind. I guess I'll just try to cram more into after the appmt. Hopefully I'm not super sore again.
 
Ailarie - the room & arrangement looks fantastic!!!
 
Our kitchen is on hold. The walls & trim are finished; I'm waiting for Dh to be able to take a couple days off to sand the floor. But he has to wait until after his employees take days they have scheduled off, off. And then I think it's going to have to wait another week until after my brother & his wife come spend the night. Don't want to have the kitchen torn up (and no appliances) when we have guests. 
 
And I'm thinking about swapping bedrooms. Because of window, radiator & closet placement I can't figure out how to arrange our furniture. It seems like the back bedroom would work better & have more room to move around & better flow. Of course i haven't said anything to Dh about this yet. <img alt="" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/lol.gif" title="">

I think he's just at rhat age (15) when he really doesn't know what to do. Just a few weeks ago he was talking about getting into a goalie development camp, and how much of his identity is wrapped up in being a goal tender. Outside influences (girls) and a social life have a hand in it as well. Not much I can do....just respect his wishes. He wanted to keep his new pads just in case he misses it and wants to go back, but I'd rather get some money for them while they are still new. I'll hold off for a bit though.

It blows. I'm not going to sugarcoat it. We did a 3,000 mile commute for 16+ months and saw each other, on average, every 6-7 weeks or so. Life is SO MUCH BETTER now that we're together all the time. <img alt="" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/love7.gif" style="width:32px;height:45px;" title="">
 
Torque, hope he makes up his mind quickly for your sake.
