7 moh this morning. Training is complete for this cycle. Ez 4 miles shake out run tomorrow morning and 3 miles Saturday afternoon.

Just about packed. Leave Thurs afternoon to drive to S.A. Will have dinner with dd at Red Robin which has sort of become a tradition for us doing marathons. We will spend night at her place while she works and leave early Fri morning. Won't arrive in Maine until late afternoon Fri so it will be a long day. Read "Once a Runner" recently and just picked up the sequel to read on the plane.

FO - I'd get a second opinion about not running again. I'm not sure my buddy even has any meniscus left in his knees and he's still running long distance.

Ok, so tomorrow is last day I start the daily. Don't be shy peoples.

Sorry to hear about that diagnosis, FO..... and I agree with KS... don't write off running too fast. Especially after seeing Labduck's recovery from surgery over this last year!

I had what was suspected to be a mild medial meniscus tear last year. I narrowed down the cause to be my non-running, cross training activity..... the elliptical trainer! Seems the footpads were forcing too wide a stance to the elliptical stride and the stress affected my knee. Seems I caught it early enough and after 6 months or so without that blinkin' machine, it's fine now.

Hi KS..... you're going to rock Maine...I just know it!

Hi Roly! Hi TW!

3 miles easy RAW...energy level aided by some great new tunes. Lovin' that new Jane's Addiction single! Will be headed out to dinner with the boss in a few minutes, who's up here for her quarterly visit.

Hi HP, Heme, Bob, tw, Roly!

I ran my last little tempo - 2 wu and 4 at 7:45 pace before the race. It felt easy and invigorating.

I'll just do a little 4 miler tomorrow, progressing down to MP last mile, then rest Fri. I wonder what Sat will bring?

You will have well wishes from everyone here, FO.
we can at least hope for the best.

hello everyone.

Tom, I didn't have much juice either today. Started out feeling good and thought I would try for 3 miles at 7:00, but ran out of steam. 2 miles @7:00, and then farklets for the remainder, about 5 miles total

Hi all

Good Luck on the marathons KS and Mike!!

After bonking yesterday on the eliptical, I started today with Metallica on the Ipod and hammered as long as I could.

Turned out to be a Satan workout as I did exactly 6.66 miles in 30 minutes. Had the heartrate up to 168 as my quads were

starting to turn to jelly. After a couple minutes recovery, I moved the resistence down a couple notches and did another 3.34 miles.

Total for 10 miles was 47:20. (Boy would it be great to be able to RUN that fast!!)

My legs are starting to feel better from last weekends race. It is taking longer every week for my right ITband to recover so I'm not running any during this week until the weekend.
