HappyFeat - hope you have a better day today.

vet appt at 2:20. Don't worry about her putting me down; I can still run faster than that. Going to the gym and elliptical after that. Last night it was packed at the gym. So I tried the "dark room" which is literally no lights except for 3 TV's all on different stations with no sound. But the music was so loud and annoying I'm going to say that's off limits from now on. I was about half way thru the work out before it began to bother me and so I didn't want to stop and move. "Girl, you should get up and kiss yourself in the morning 'cause that's what I would do if I were you" huh, what? Oh brother

Hi KS! Good luck at the vet's.

Let's face it.... lyrics in our day didn't really make much sense most of the time.

Hi TW!

Good to see Johnny, PT and FO checking in the last couple of days.

Didn't get on-line yesterday.... had an after-hours work thing so didn't get home until almost 11. Did, however manage to get in a nice, semi-sproinky 7.3 mile run in the rain between work and dinner. OK, cold rain wasn't nice, but the run more than made up for it.

Spinneronni on tired legs this morning at 7.

I'm be seeing my GP tomorrow to see if I can get some further treatment for this neuroma. Sports doc is pushing for orthotics, but the padding I'm doing anyway is about as good as that's going to get and I'm ready to try something else. My GP is an ex sports med type anyway, so the second opinion will be useful.

Nice pooling TW. I like bagpipes and definitely prefer that to last night.

Heme - you're right; I grew up in late 60's and 70's and just now beginning to understand what some of the music was about. My problem is that is the only words I could pick out in the entire hour and my ears just weren't inclined to the sound of the music. It was basically loud noise to me. I'm sure the younger adults working out thought quite differently than me. Good luck at your doc's.

Hi All!

Read your post from Saturday Johnny that you were over in my neck of the woods on Saturday. Oddly I was up at the gym that afternoon and hoping for a Johnny sighting. I guess we both struck out. congrats on your 19 mile week. I would love one of those! I think I had a whopping 6.5 miles last week - and that was with 3 runs!

maybe I can double that mileage this week.

Hi everybody. My headphones drown out all the music where I work out. No run last night but I got out on a rail-trail at noon today for 10 miles. Progression from 8s down to6:35 avg the last 3. I might crash a running groups workout tonight to see if I can tag along. It was 80 when I ran so I was pretty hot when I finished. Stomach bug is starting to go away but foot still hurts a little. For those that like classic cars I am going to the Mecum auto auction tomorrow.

FO - keep it up.

HIHEME!!

Went to the vet and she reconfirmed her diagnosis after explaining my concerns. Prescribed Mobic and muscle relaxers and is convinced the PT will have me up to speed in no time. Still did not recommend an MRI which is ok as that comes out of my pocket; but she did say if the PT wanted one she would order it immediately. And if I really wanted one she would order it. I'll try the PT for a while and see. I'm thinking the relaxers will help because I just seem really tight on the injured side sometimes from my neck to my knee. So it's slight hip bursitis and then she added probably abductor muscle weakness caused by over use. She says PT will show me the way to strengthen that muscle group.

ks//......same drill

mobic with food or milk, may take about 3-days to kick in

muscle relaxers

will work quicker on an empty stomach

if the make you sleepy, they work slower on a full stomach.

Good luck on the rehab KS and Heme. Heme, reading your stuff is wonderful. I can't tell if you are talking about diseases, body parts, or prosthesis (neuroma, IT Band) but it is great to read it.

5+ miles on the treadmill with 2.5 miles of fartlek. At one point I checked my heart rate and the machine told me I was at 237 beat/minute.... not bad for a guy nearly 60! I'm accepting that information with some skepticism.
