Dh & I are going to dinner & then see pro bull riding tonight with FIL and his wife & one of Dh's high school friends (plus his wife and 2 daughters). Ought to be funny.

In the mean time, I need to make a bunch of pots and a cake to take to brunch tomorrow.

Greetings all!

Not fun: wanting desperately to sleep in, but my mind/body decided it was time to get up around 6:30am. Wish they'd sync that well during the week! Ahh well.

Fun: Falcons game tonight! Gooooo dirty birds!

Fun: Later, I'll make some cookies and walk down the road to give to my neighbor. Her car had a losing argument with a brick mailbox earlier this week due to an ice patch. Figured since there isn't a hallmark card for such an occasion, that cookies would suffice.

Have a great one, folks!

Good morning! Today I am going to be a domestic goddess. My kids and C all love pumpkin pie so to celebrate DD's January Student of the Month honor in Science , I'm baking a couple pies up.

And this guy I know that loves Guinness has been bugging me to make him some of that chocolate Guinness ice cream so I'll do that today too.

And the regular cleaning and laundry and such.

There's a "Wellness Event" going on at my gym all day today so I'm guessing it's going to be a zoo until after 5:00, so I'll wait to get my 4 miles in until then.

So that's the fun!

Not fun: It's still cold out and there is still snow.

Yay for Big G's DD! That is awesome!

I did sleep in until glorious 8:30 this morning. After several 4:xx am mornings this week, it was a wonderful, heavenly treat. We are doing lots of stuff around the house then taking the boys ice skating. Yay! Believe it or not, we've never taken them before!!

Congrats to your daughter, BigG! Science is way cool!

Just an ordinary Saturday here. Big breakfast. (I made the apple cinnamon pancakes but opted for a couple of boiled eggs and some cottage cheese for my low low low carb lifestyle. The company is what matters and I'm as full as I would have been had I eaten the pancakes. ) We've got two hockey hours today, which is no biggie. Then ...I'm not sure. Someone said something about baking chocolate chip cookies.

I've got a pan of granola jam bars in the oven, brownies ready to bake next, and I've already finished cake balls and blueberry bars. Hopefully that equals enough dessert for 45 people. I really have no idea. It sounds like this will be quite a party, but I'm glad we're going to be guests instead of hosts.

We had a play date with former neighbors today (Moe - it was Kelli that you met in Boston). It had been nearly a year since the whole families were together, but the kids got along wonderfully.

I'm not getting nearly as much done today as I wanted/needed to. :sigh:

Busy day here. Met my friend and her friends at Latin Night at a local place. Got there in time for the dance lesson, then whhheeeeee....salsa, merengue. etc...and men asked us to dance. Funny. And FUN!

I wish I hadn't been dressed in the clothes I'd been in, unshowered, all day. Heavy leather boots =/= graceful dancing.

Yesterday was a busy day for us too. I spent the day with about 30 Portuguese people, most of whom were trying to see who could drink the most homemade Port wine. It was rather amusing.

Hey, everyone. Yesterday, I baked a lasagna and took it over to a colleague's house as an excuse to meet his new baby. I also finished her bib last week, so I had that to take as well. She looks exactly like her father. I'm never quite sure if that's a good thing for a baby girl to look like her dad. Still, she's cute and sweet and cuddly and that's all that matters.

Today I'm going to get prepped for this week's classes, which shouldn't be too big a deal, but I need to get back into the swing of the semester routine. I also need to get in a trip to the library and the grocery store. I'm hoping it's going to be a very productive day.

Moe - sounds fun!

We watched the Packers beat the snot out of the Ravens, which was very enjoyable. I slept in again this morning, which was nice. Although I slept kind-of terrible. Getting geared up for my 18 miler, which is taking a bit of mental energy given the roads are kind of crappy and it is ridiculously cold.

Hey - shout out to Duckie and anyone else who has run the Eugene Marathon - I am looking for a good hotel for the Eugene marathon. Maybe even one with a suite in case we bring the boys (which I am leaning toward). I didn't think I wanted to take them at first, but they are really at a great age and they have never been to the PNW either. It could be a great trip for them and us - before we know it, they won't want to be hanging out with us, so it may be a good time to bring them. Any suggestions?

You scared the crap out of me! I'm a nervous football watcher, so until the Super Bowl, I just get scores afterward. I knew the Steelers had to play the Ravens and you said the Packers beat the Ravens, which meant that Pgh lost at some point. But I thought they had off last week. So, anyway, I, in a panic, looked it up and saw that you meant Falcons, not Ravens, and my heart rate is back to normal.

Haha. Oops - I meant the Falcons!!

Okay, I am SUPAH excited now. Decided to plan the trip and booked a suite at the River Valley Inn right on the River. I am going to sign the boys up for the 5K - they can run it, get cleaned up and then see me at miles 18.5, 24ish, and at the finish. Should be a blast!! Now I just need to get that training part in! ;)

RIL - That's where Jen and hubby stayed, but just to be precise it's Valley River Inn. :) It's a bit dated (quaint?), but a nice hotel with very good service. That's where most of the Pac10 teams stay when they play in Eugene.

Sweet! Sheesh, I guess I can't speak/write correctly this morning at all! I just booked airline tickets for the 4 of us too. We'll get in Friday afternoon and leave on Monday, May 2. Can't wait. Now I need to sign the boys up for the 5K and kick my training up a notch!

My suite was at Chez Butler. It was a nice place to stay, but I think they've moved to a different location since then.
