Just an easy planned 6 miler today. Gotta do 10 again tomorrow. Total time was 57:02 for a pace of 9:13. Humidity was a little better at 86% with a temp of 73.

Morning, everyone.

FLboiler -- Ah, yes. When there's a schedule involved, sometimes it's "I gotta run __" instead of "I wanna run __"

Good job on the six, and good luck on the tenner.

Not a bad pace in that kind of humidity FB

I tried to go out and get a Yasso workout in. Not for the predictive value but just because it tends to be one of the less taxing "speed" workouts I do for marathons. Felt fine legs-wise, but I had to bag it a little over halfway through because my stomach was giving me issues literally from the moment I stepped out the door. I'll give it another shot next week, but since my only goal on the 10th is to not get a personal worst (or to still be better than my brother's best time which is what I tell him my goal is) I'm not overly concerned with getting quality in.

On the stomach thing, it's either caused by the fact that I haven't run before sunrise in months or the couple of bottles of Mountain Dew I had last night. Pretty sure it's nothing serious but it sure felt like it this morning.

I got nuthin'. Had planned to hit the fishbowl this morning. It was going to be tight to get the workout in and get son1 downtown for class. The alarm went off, I felt like crap, so I went back to sleep. Then, hubby came out of the bathroom and found me still asleep and woke me. Oh well... Guess I'll work on that RR?

Good morning. Today is a rest from running. I would like to do a core workout and maybe some stretching. Today is a short day at school, so that means taking my son to school early today. So maybe while he is at school I can get something done. Nice job on the workouts done and to be done today.

Taking a rest day while the warmer weather continues. Hopefully it'll break for the marathon. Last night I decided to just do 10*400 at track practice. The workout was 12*400 in 3 sets with a bonus 2 intervals if you felt excited. Most of the guys were hammering it but I took it easy:

01:35, 01:27, 01:29, 01:28,
01:29, 01:32, 01:25, 01:25,
01:30, 01:24

The slowest ones were with my buddy who was still real sore from the 20 on Sunday. He ran a 2:27 vs my 2:29. His marathon is a week after mine but he's a lower mileage guy who's having a good racing season. Still, I think I'll still best him in the marathon. If it's a hot day on 10/10/10, I may run the marathon he's doing.

Kevin - enjoy the rest day.

Chances - no, keep pushing so I can pass you in the final 0.2 miles.

zrun - nice job on the trails

Dave - How big is the group you ride with?

Jill - 10/w5, eh? You be on fire.

BBS - Hey, that's my workout... hope the mill doesn't spit you out.

Apple - Ahh, Hilton Head Island. I'm jealous. We stay at my in-laws place in Sea Pines. Some good running routes along the bike paths. Ever run over the bridge on the Cross Island? It's part of the HM in February. You have to do it twice. Odd, as that's the scene of my HM PR.

Loopy - are you running down the mountain rather than up?

FB - Nice going. What race are you training for?

Rob-we need more smack talk. I can't believe this rivalry faded...bring it back!

Up early to study for my quiz today...workout right after class. Not sure if the rain will continue or not, but I think it's perfect running weather outside with or without it.

RA- Hey, our #'s match too, but I was cheating by being on the TM

Alex- Cool. I wish I could find a good one in my county. Its either one extreme or the other - Too expensive, or too cheap (dont vacuum pack)

Well, those 400s tried to get the best of me.. trudged thru it tho. All @ 1:30, 2 min recoveries and with 1.5% incline. 6 miles total. Now I got some hunting priorities to take care of before this weekend.

Morning all,

The start of autumn features some mid-summer weather here today. Headed for the 90s, dew point 64. But I will get out there this afternoon anyway. Finally I feel like I can run again!! There's still a trace of lingering soreness in the calves but I think it's time to start working it back in slowly. So 3-4 today, maybe 5 if I'm really feeling good, nice and slow. Hopefully an easy trail run tomorrow, and then an endurance ride Saturday.

Apple - welcome back! Now stick around!

FB/Chances - good job doing what ya gotta do. That will be next week, the way my work week seems to be shaping up.

4bm - yep, still waiting on that RR. Speaking of that, everyone, how come no love for mine? Only 1 comment?

loopy - nice 10, "too fast" - yeah, I'll bet (chuckle)

BBS - go tackle the TM and bang out those quarters

Jill - good luck on the tempo, not that you need much luck these days

Dave - nice ride

RA/kevin - enjoy the rest day

Zrun - unexciting is good when in taper mode

Alex - get back to work so you don't miss your run!

Dan - snuck in there just as I was posting...sorry to hear it, rest up.

I just can't. He's too nice a guy. Plus, he's British, and you know how freaking polite and proper they are. In fact, he could pass me the last .2, and I'm sure all I could muster is a lighthearted "Good show there, chap!"
