Hiya Pink! Got up early again, contrary to my nature, and did the circuit workout. It used to take me an hour but this time only 51 min. so I almost had a flow going, from the weights to the cardio & back. Or maybe it was a scampering squirrel kind of thing. Got in a whopping 0.72 mi. running on the treadmill, 30-60 sec. at a time. I will get a chance to work on the flow after work at yoga.

Same run as Pink; 5 EZ at 8:15/mi. My Garmin, as well as my body, is still on PDT time, so my run was at 3:00 am. Ugh.

Good morning Pink, Opie, Lab, KSr and all who follow. Lab, do you run with a headlamp?

Yes it is a delightful morning here in the Upper Right Corner. 6 EZ, 8:39 avg pace.

I'm having one of those distracted days. On the drive into work I discovered I don't have my wallet. Why don't I have my wallet? I have everything else I normally carry. Wasn't my wallet on the bureau with everything else? Hmmm....

I've had those days, too, Mike. I try to calm & focus the mind with deep belly breathing. That's one of the key things about yoga which anyone can do without even going to yoga class. Listen to me, I sound like an expert! Now Sans Souci knows a lot about yoga and it's her birthday, too? Have a good one, my friend! Jet off to China or Oklahoma or somewhere!

Morning all! Happy Birthday to Miss SS! Yikes, 3 AM

I just did weights this AM.

I have come to work with no wallet and it's quite annoying. Feel lost when in truth usually borrowing a $20 from a co-worker gets me through the day.

Good morning everyone, and a very happy birthday to SS! Only 3 miles for me today, which were rather speedy, considering my long slow slog yesterday. 9:28, 9:04 and 8:46, woohoo! The left hamstring is still feeling slightly off, so I walked an additional mile to try to get back in balance.

Mike, when DS was leaving for school every morning, I'd recite the following litany to him as a daily reminder: watch, wallet, phone, ID! After a while, it became one big run-on word that we'd say, watchwalletphoneID. My son was the king of forgetful city!

OM, that sounds like a modern twist on an old mantra that my dad used... "spectacles, testicles, wallet and watch!". I giggle many mornings, figuring out what represents my "testicles" for the day (laptop? gym bag?).

Will run after work.

Hi all

68 mountainous miles around the Alpe D'Huez tri course, the thought of running a half marathon right now is scary. Also ran 7.5 before me left this morning. After dinner we are supposed to be doing a night ride and I am not sure my legs will function.

Right now I am regretting the 59 minute charge I did up Alpe d'Heuz last night.

It is going to be a tough week

Heme, that's funny. I like those little jingle-like mantras to keep from forgetting things. I forget my purse every now and then and it drives me nuts, mainly because my phone is in it. But, it really doesn't matter most days. I don't go anywhere and rarely spend money on daily stuff so, it's just habit to have it.

On Mother's Day last year, DH gave me a little wooden sign "If it has Tires or Testicles, you're going to have trouble with it." That explains why the (neutered) cat is so easy to get along with.

Have fun, Gobi! Sounds like a lot of work...

I seem to be car-free most days since DH lets the 16 year old drive his truck (why, I don't know), he takes my car and drops me off. Like I said before, I don't go anywhere or do anything but run or head down the hill to the gym. So, here I sit.

Another gym day today. Figured I'd just take it easy on the ol' feet and legs to keep 'em happy. I should do weights...

ETA: Happy Birthday to SS and Johnny, too!!

I wish I could leave the car home. Actually I was supposed to work from home today.....but had to come in.

Then I have a bike club meeting which is also too far to ride to and anyway it will be dark.

Just trying to keep things moving along in here. Forgetfulness award goes to my nephew. He travels extensively all over the world and never leaves someplace without leaving something.

Which he then wants mailed to him in some remote place. At your expense " class="bbcode_smiley" height="" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies//biggrin.gif" title="" width="" />

90' vinyasa, finishing with an ohm and everyone singing Happy Birthday. Wow.

Grabbed my specs and my watch, left the other two -- er, three on the table, Heme <cackle>, and had one of my best speed session EVER today. It's such a beautiful, crisp SUMMER (yes, Ilene!) day.

wu, 8x4' @10K pace (7:01, 6:56,58,54,54,48,57,46) wd

Slight cheat on the sixth one (it's my birthday, dammit ), getting a couple extra gulps of air, so maybe another 10" rest. After a peak mileage week and my longest run, I'm a happy old crone.

Hope Johnny is enjoying his extra special birthday run and BTY is knocking another one outta the park (or in the back of the net!)

Thank you, everyone, for the b-day wishes. You're the best!

Oh. I'm a creature of habit, and thinking it was the old private msg system of opening it in another window, I accidentally deleted a PM, before I had a chance to read it, that someone sent this morning. So I'm not being my usual crude, rude self -- just have my head in the clouds. Please re-send!

That's a pretty fast 10K pace SS...especially for an 'old crone'
I'm stuck at the Chicago airport. I think I now get back into Portland just in time to get up to go to work. Grrr...

Hmm...my calendar says it's still summer, although it sure feels like fall.

My plan was to run 60 kilometers to celebrate my 60th birthday today......wasn't able to do it, stopped after 35.5 miles or 57.2K. I know when you look at the number it's easy to say, just go out and run 3K and get it over with, but, in the words of that wise philosopher George Costanza....."I got nuthin, baby". Poor training (29 miles 1st 2 weeks of August, 105 miles 2nd 2 weeks, 3 back to back long run weekends) did me in. I know, you can't shortchange training. IT Band problems at mile 16, causing me to return home and change shoes threw me off of my planned 3 x 13 mile out and back loops. Tried to make it up the last 3rd but ran out of water. Oh well, 35.5 is a PR distance....35.5 miles 7:44 (13:04 pace) 5500' gain/loss.

Ice bath time
