Well I felt just good enough to stretch my planned 5 mile run to 6 miles. My pace still sucked but I got 6 miles in with 2 short walk breaks. Total time was 56:40 for a pace of 9:26.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning.

Nice run FB.

I hit the track this morning. I think I'm finally clawing my way out this hole. 2x800 and 3x400 and my times surprised me, better than I was expecting. My 6 yr old tagged along with me, she's been bugging me take her to the track all summer. She ran a few laps and then just watched. Cutie.

Missed track practice last night as the traffic was horrific. This morning I felt tired, achy with a sore throat - daycare germs are back. Forced myself out the door. Planned to run to gym, do some light weights and run home. Bumped into the running club and stupidly decided to run with them for a bit. Ended with 8 miles, for the last 3 I was having troubling holding a 9:30mpm pace, ached worse than the end of a marathon and felt nauseous. Oh boy do I feel like crap. Should have stayed in bed. Stupid, stupid, stupid!

Great job on the track, Jill! Cool that your daughter joined you. Are there any more kids runs this summer? We took the girls to one of them earlier this summer and they really liked it...

RA sorry you're feeling so lousy --- hope you feel better soon!

Nice recovery run Chances -- enjoy the 4 tonight...

busy morning so far. I think i'm gonna do 4 miles, maybe run a couple 10k pace or so. I got forced to go in early again tonight, thinking about tuffing it out and hold over tomorrow morning too, pull a 16, then call out tomorrow night. that way I will actually have a chance to get some rest before a race... BTW- I decided to do the race this weekend... now the humidity is creeping back up. Right now Weather Channel says 79* and 99% humidity...

Jill, that's very cool dd wanted to go out on the track with you, my boys would never do it that early! Sounds like the extra iron is already paying off.

RA - ditto on the rest!

Chances - have a good recovery day

Loopy - you've been mister consistent

BBS, Dan - good luck with the runs today

FB--nicely done.

Jill--good to see your daughter out there with you! Son4 used to join me on occasion. Hoping he'll start back up.

Asics--hope you are feeling better. And, yah, I'd do the same thing...

chances--please refresh my memory-why the doubles?

loopy--yah, there does seem to be a cold making its rounds.

BBS--how do you have a life with that kind of schedule?

Dan--have a good one!

Just a short little easy trot for me this morning. Kept meaning to get up, finally dragged my carcass out of bed at 8:30. Luckily it is still fairly cool. Kept it very easy, just enough to knock the rust off. Felt very sluggish. Short 4 @ 9:05pace.

And now the fun begins... Son1 and I hammered out his schedule for fall quarter and it wouldn't go through. I suspect that it's because he's home school-self pay and there's more stupid paperwork for us to do. Wish us luck................

Good morning everyone. I was scheduled to d o some 800's at the track this morning. That did not happen. Didn't feel like it this morning as there is some stuff going on. So my brother and I went to the track in case we wanted to do something. We get to the track/football field and see that it had been vandalized overnight with terrible stuff spray painted on the bleachers, goal post almost broken down and bent, and some flooding from the sprinklers on the grass and track. After being in shock about all that we ran 2 miles on the track and 2 miles on the road 4.1 in 35:41(8:42). Nice job on all the workouts this morning.

Update #1--just set a new record!!! 45mins on hold, only to be told I needed to call another department. Gotta love it when you get transfered to the wrong number! Just left a message. Any bets on how long it will take for my call to be returned? Pretty sure we're going to end up going down the main campus anyway........

run done, and so am i. Running is a sauna is no fun. Did 4 miles, 1 @ goal 10k pace (7:05, i could call it ' the wheels are falling off this 5k race' 5k pace.) Legs didn't feel 100% so I decided to just stick to the one and run the rest easy. Besides all the sweating, I feel good about how it went. Getting kinda excited about the race Saturday. Its on my home turf, and it was my PR race last year.

Well, because that's what Mr. Pfitzinger has on the schedule for today. :) My understanding of the theory is that splitting the run takes less out of you than doing 10 straight, but keeps your mileage high. Shrug.

BBS - Nice running and glad you're getting geared up for the race!

4boys - Any luck yet? Back on hold? Good luck with it all.

Kevin - Always a shame to see that kind of stuff. What are people thinking.

Jill - That'll do it every time. Never thought about the running lowering iron levels.

ZRun - I'm with you. One day at a time. Hope it keeps improving

A good run for me even though legs were dead and I was tired the whole way.

Morning fellow kicksters...

I don't know why but I'm whacked this morning. 2 cups of coffee at home and then I picked up a carmel macchiato at SBUX on the way in which finally seems to be reviving me.

Busy day at work. I packed for a midday run but am not sure I will get out. If I don't it will be this evening at home. Hill repeats are planned.

RA - new week, new germs. Hope these don't stick around long.

FB - good job on the increased distance

Jill - nice track reps. You'll bounce back quickly.

Chances - I doubled yesterday for 12 total. And I haven't even read Pfitzinger's musings.

zrun - sounds like improvement

kevin - sorry about the vandals ruining your morning workout. What a bunch of d-bags.

BBS - another humid 5k. Oh well, hydrate like crazy and hope for the best, I guess.

Dan - nice job and great to see continued progress.

One annoying thing about the track this morning. There was a guy running and everytime we got by him he would speed up ahead of us. He did this for the last 3 laps and then we just flew by him on the last 100 at the track. We were just running a comfortable pace today. Also I get to do some wear testing for Brooks and they said the shoe should be here tomorrow. It sounds fun. Now I get to run and run and run for 3 months. Hopefully I can punish the shoes.

Tonight's hill repeat workout is done. I did the same 0.45 mile hill as a
month ago but did 6 repeats this time instead of just 4. Shooting to run "
around" marathon pace I went 3:14, 3:20, 3:18, 3:20, 3:19, and 3:11.

Looking at it in retrospect that almost looks like a Yasso 800 workout.

6.78 miles total with warmup & cooldown.
