Good morning,

Just another sweaty run where I spent the final 1.5 miles having to deal with the urge to walk so I told myself the next sign post, drive way, light pole and then I would say next one and so on and so on until I was done.

Have a good day everyone.

FB - great job gettig it done!

I got out for exactly 11 miles in my new Gel Banditos. Ended being a progression run from high 8s to low 7s after I joined some buddies. Low 70s and 80% humidity so summer is creeping back. That equals a sweatfest.

RA -- Great job on the progression in tough conditions. Another pair of Banditos for you, eh?

Me -- 70 degrees and 70% humidity today. A bit of cloud cover to ease things. Heading out for 9 here shortly.

Nice runs, way to play the mental game, FB. Way to get out there early, RA, was it 11.0000 miles :) Tuesday morning track for me with "Interval 3 x (800m-600m-400m-200m), @ 5K-10k pace, 1 minute recovery, 3-5 minutes between sets" on the schedule. Wound up going a little harder than called for esp. for the 400s and 200s but felt good and ran the last 200 pretty much all out.

Set 1: 3:21, 2:24, 1:36, 0:48

Set 2: 3:19, 2:29, 1:36, 0:42

Set 3: 3:21, 2:31, 1:35, 0:39

Yoga is on tap for lunchtime. Have fun, all.

Good morning everyone. I tried out my heart rate monitor today for the first time. Not sure what any of the numbers mean yet. 5.60 miles in 47:39(8:30). 150 avg heart rate. My feet and lower legs are now sore, so I probably should do some icing or sit in a cold bath to help the legs. Nice job on all the running.

I have 400 miles on my first pair put haven't worn them this season. I just got the 2nd pair for $50 from runningwarehouse.com. I've decided to train more with them and race/ do speedwork in the Fastwitch. However; the lighter shoes make my forefeet sore after 10 or so miles so will probably stick with DS Trainers for longer runs and the marathon.

Note for BBS - Chances is pacing me in the Chicago marathon on 10/10/10.

Well, the Garmin said 11.00. Whether that was the distance I ran is another matter entirely. Nice intervals. I get to miss track tomorrow in lieu of a trip to Ravinia.

7x600 @ current 5k pace done. 5 miles total. Pace felt kinda easy, but my legs felt like crap... guess from last weekends race and the progression run yesterday. I feel like I am sliding into a running slump.. can't find my speed, can't even match where I was at last year at this time. Maybe I'm crazy, but I was expecting to be FASTER this year compared to last.

Hey all...wow, some great workouts are already in the books this AM. I'm looking at an easy 8...packed a bag for this afternoon at work. Club mile and 3k track championship races are tomorrow night, so I'm looking forward to getting the spikes on for that.

Last night I decided the heck with an off-day and got out for a 10-mile trail ride. This weekend I'm hoping to ride 30-35 on the road bike.

Z, that's a helluva track workout even at a tempo-ish pace. I really like it. And RA, nice tempo run. It's almost time for me to start doing those again. Just one more 5k race, next week, first.

BBS - hard to bring your A game every day. Don't sweat it. But I do think you should space out the quality workouts a little more. Weekend race, progrun yesterday, speed today...no wonder you were sluggish today! Gotta stick some easy runs in there and let your body recover. Just sayin'.

FB - way to tough it out in that humidity

Chances - no wimping out on humidity after what FB got through.

kevin - nice run, not bad numbers on HR readings. I find HRs to be most helpful on easy runs when I want to keep the HR in the 140s or even 130s sometimes. If I get up over 150 I then make myself slow down. You'll find your own comfort zone though over time.

Jill - you've been battling all sorts of nagging things lately it seems. Time for your luck to change.

Dan - rest if you need to.

ETA: yesterday in the snailmail was my NYC Marathon "Getting Started Guide." It's almost that time again.

Morning--uh, rather AFTERNOON all! Early morning for me. Headed up to the metropark for bike hill repeats. Haven't crunched the numbers yet, but it was a good workout. 20mi.

Quick shoe change at the van and off for a run! Legs felt very good, which means I didn't hit the bike hard enough. Had planned on 6laps, but during the 5th, my gut reminded me that I had the new gatorade on the bike and it doesn't like the new stuff. So, dash to the POJ insted of the 6th lap. 7:12, 7:05, 7:04, 7:05, 7:04. Total 4.15m, 35:32, 8:33pace.

Back home and mowed the lawn. Had planned on doing just the front but after doing the side I realized I didn't ahve that much more to do, so finished it off. Needless to say, I am DONE for the day!

Hi everybody. Nice workouts today!

I did 10 miles today. Maybe it wasn't quite so hot or humid, but it didn't seem that bad. Or maybe it was that I ran with gatorade instead of water. But I didn't need to take any walk breaks on the hills. I definitely looked liked I'd been swimming by the time I finished, though.

I got in a 2nd run this evening, just a very easy recovery jog on the neighborhood 5k loop, followed by some upper body work using the resistance bands, and some stretching. 11 for the day, not too bad.
