50 mile ride today - down by the sea. My DD ran 10 miles (down in DC) - 5 miles, waited in line to buy a cookie, ran back 5. Apparently worth every step of the 10 miles Ran past the SCOTUS - packed with mourners and remembrances. She's reading a biog of RBG now (and learning some new words in the process ).
Probably a 40 mile ride tomorrow, and rest on Monday...
What a loss. And potentially 3 lifelong-appointments of the highest court chosen under one president?
I have read two books about RBG but time again to read one. Quite devastated...
4-hr paddle in a chain of lakes with GIRLYAKS. Gorgeous day with a hint of Fall colors and water like glass. While we were enjoying post-yak campfire and chili (all but me were glamping), I received a text reminder for a massage. Boo to having to leave the fun.
2800m ows in a sleeveless wetsuit. Beautiful day. Stomach issue from the anti-inflammatory meds (weird swollen thumb joint... doc thinks infection or arthritis) and breathing issue causing gas building up in my system making sick. Other than that it was great! Since the days of outdoor swimming are numbered, I’m happy to get it done.
DH and I went to VT for the day yesterday to pick out flooring for the condo and hit up a really cool farmer's market while there. Then on our way home stopped in at Molly Stark state park and hiked Mt. Olga - quick and easy and we were done in about an hour.
Today I got nothing but 11K steps and a bunch of errands.
You'd think gas build up would make you more buoyant
Too cold for outdoor swimming around these parts today. 40 mile morning ride - followed by lawn mowing, ash cleaning from with the shop vac, grocery shopping - and settled down tonight to watch the Pats.
Tomorrow - rest day.
This country is going to **** in the proverbial hand basket. I hope RGB's wish about the nomination after the election comes true for everyone's sake.
Did a nice solo 5 mile hike sunday after a storm saturday. THe leaves are beautiful this year aspen and ash in red, yellow and orange. Stopped for a short swim afterwards in the upper lake.
I am trying to source some wood for the EP. Everyone up here says there's none to be bought not even 2x4's I am wondering if this is a regional or national issue. How is the supply for those of you doing DIY ?
SB - supply shortage is I am sure National issue. We were replacing some of our cedar deck posts, stairs and floors and had a hard time finding enough. My builder friend was telling me the price for whatever size wood I can't remember back in March was $2.7x. By may $3.3x. Now close to $5. He said the house he is building would cost $16K more just for the materials. He told me to wait until next spring to fix anything major.
