<span style="font-size:large;"><b>Grizzly's Vegetarian Gravy</b></span><br><br><span style="font-size:large;">This is one of those "by feel" recipes. I'm putting it down here because of a demand received from my family. I apparently have to copy my performance next major feast.</span><br><ul><li><span style="font-size:large;">6 onions chopped</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:large;">One cup vegetable stock (bouillion cube and water)</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:large;">Dehydrated onion flakes</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:large;">2 oz. White whine</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:large;">2 tbsps. corn starch mixed in 1/4 cup cold water</span></li>
</ul><span style="font-size:large;">I started this really early, the onions cook for 4-6 hours on low. Stir them occasionally and if they start to stick just add a bit of water.</span><br><br><span style="font-size:large;">About an hour before I needed the gravy I added the vegetable stock and wine.</span><br><br><span style="font-size:large;">Let it simmer for a while, then add the corn starch to thicken it up. Pepper to taste.</span><br><br><span style="font-size:large;">I used a hand blender to "zip" up the mixture, leaving some onions intact. Added some dried onion flakes and let it sit until required at supper.</span>

Sounds good, Grizzly. The key's gotta be those slow-cooked onions. Yum!<br><br>
I love miso gravy. Found <a href="http://www.thimble.ca/?p=713" target="_blank">this</a> recipe online.<br><br>
Naam Restaurant in Vancouver really has the best miso gravy, and I had to try making it myself. Still not quite as good as Naam (as the recipe author admits as well), but I'm working on it.

My mom and I are going to make this for Christmas dinner! I'm very excited. It's been quite a while since I've had gravy on my mashed potatoes. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Smile">
