Good early morning from Grand Rapids, where it's currently clear and 30F with little wind. Conditions looking good for SGH!

There's no online tracking here but I'll post her splits to my FB profile. If any FB friends are around this morning and has nothing better to do, please copy & paste my updates here.

And oh, I'll try to get a few miles of running, too.

Good luck to all our racers, and have a great day.

Good luck SGH.

Roots - Sounds like a great day for a race.

Me - Rest day! But, I can join the shin splint club. Only three weeks to go and now I get shin splints. Oh well, it is taper time and will cut the running way back this week to let it heal a little. Hopefully it won't hurt me too much in the HIM.

SGH got a BQ? Awesome. Congrats!

Kevin - Sunday's your rest day anyway right?

Me - 9.55 The way the run started I didn't think I'd make 7. I started really slow and as I got into it things got better. Will probably pay for it but glad I got it in. Coulda done 10 but 9.55 took me to my driveway so...

Looks like a big congrats to SGH!

I put in 10 or so miles while enjoying the nice Fall weather. My legs felt good and fresh so was in the 7:30 to 7:40 mpm range. However, my right calf still bothering me a little... more foam rollering...

14 miles at mp (8:35). Felt okay during the run --it was a little tough--, but coughed like crazy when I finished.

SGH!!! That is awesome. I am so happy for you. Congratulations.

MBH - congratulations on your new PR. Can't wait for the RR.

My race did not go well but I'm really okay with it. I trained well for it but the weather was not co-operating and that's just the chance we take. Especially at this time of the year. No PR but I will get it next year.

Good evening all,

Well, I ended up bagging the run yesterday...had a nice low-key anniversary with DW. We even capped the day off with a little shopping for new gear at REI -- got myself some Pearl Izumi arm warmers, a lightweight UA beanie, and one of those self-packable rain jackets for cycling. We also looked at some new bikes but didn't buy -- i.e., research. Then it was time for some dinner at PF Chiang's.

I finally dragged my lazy butt out today for 10.34 miles, with DW cycling alongside. Her company was nice of course, but otherwise it was quite the forgettable run. My legs had nothing today, so I plodded along at 8:40 pace, heart barely getting over 140. I guess that was my body's way of telling me a recovery run was required today so I went along with it.

No time to respond to all the comments but nice racing by SGH and Jill.

Thanks, and congratulations to you as well, MBH!

Your race summary above pretty much matches mine. Definitely a successful day, but not quite the time I thought I could run. Still happy though!

I'll be working up a RR too - we just got back to Ohio.

Thank you everyone for following and your kind comments. I feel great!
