Good info, will re-read, thanks Roly. Good to see that you are doing better, happy for you.

TM Tempo at the Y this AM. 40 minutes starting at 8.6 mph and increasing steadily up to 9.7, all the while keeping an eye on the HR. My Lactate Threshold is at about 172 BPM's, which is where I peaked at the 35 minute mark. Looks like I'm doing a 5K this Sunday,

There is no way I am going to be able to go any faster than 19:30 as my legs have only been turning over at a 6:55 / mile pace all winter! To be competitive I would need to do 6:20 / mile. That's a big gap! Gulp!

Hey DF, nice run.

Not sure what I'm setting you up for I checked out the 10km race results from last years Ultimate XC Val Morin and the winning time was 1:21x yes for a 10km (in reality probably 13km) and the last official time in was 3;44x.

The 10K route definitely had the longest and steepest sections of the whole course. It was pretty rocky on the descents so you couldn't really make up any time on them. I'd say the 10K runners - definitely in the 13K range from what many said - got the best part of the course!

Merc, really? From your recent workouts you sound like you're in faster shape than that.

I think I'll clock just under 20:00... and hit my 5K goal for this year... that way I can just crash out on the sofa until Tremblant.

I went out running, and tried to keep it slow. I haven't run that much this year, so I want to start a little slower than I sometimes do. I still was able to run for close to 45 minutes, and squeezed in a hill, some trails, and avoided most of the ice water. It is really nice out there, and nearly perfect conditions!
I forgot about that Lasalle race... Good luck you guys. I like that race.

Thanks for the links, also.. good stuff
Addictive these races are. And there is no patch available on the market yet for slow withdrawal.

So far we have:

KZ: 50km
Grommit: 50km ?

Easygo: half
Roly: half

Three of KZ co workers (with no authority to fire his ass when they drag theirs over the finish line.)

I'm afraid we may have lost Df7 in the 10km race.

anyone else????? !!!!!!!

Intervals after a busy day at work..sweat flying in all directions

Now ! It's confirmed. Just finish my registration for the half in Tremblant. Probably will have a small delegation of Val-Davidian. Plus people on Roly's list. We will have a pucking party after....He's not talking about it but I am sure Truxx is thinking about it.

Run with the deers close to home, the trails are not very wet, yet !

Enjoy the sunshine.

5 - 5 minute repeats yesterday was on the menu during track workout yesterday. We ran at a 4min/km pace and my running partner and I exchanged leads. We were able to complete each repeat without too much difficulty. I'd rate it an 8 on 10 in terms of difficulty.

Nice seeing DF yesterday. Keep up the good work.

Ran for a reovery run this morning for 30min and stretched. Ah... that felt good.

Have a wonderful day.

Since MDS Nordion (One of the MDS companies) sponors the 5 and 10 km races at the Ottawa marathon all employees who raise at least $150 for the Ottawa Hospital get their registration fee covered and a chance to win a a nights lodging at the Holiday inn Select.

a little over 4.5 miles for me in 41 minutes at 4:30 a.m. this morning around the hood.

I just read the list of runners starting the Marathon des Sable in Morroco this Friday and the Female winner of the 6 hour frozen ass run that you were in is running the MDS.

http://www.darbaroud.com/index_uk.php

Yeah, the 6hr was just a short training session for her (I think she also owns or works in PegasusXRunning, Laval, sponsors of the 6hr runs) there was another guy there heading off for the MdS too, I forget his name. Crazy bastards

Zero mileage for me since the weekend and a big fat zilch today, I'm struggling to get out there midweek but at least I'm still getting my long-runs in. And on that note... I picked up my Crosslite's today

Nice shoes, now don't go getting them all dirty.

Her and her husband Renato own the Pegasus in Laval. I only checked the web site when a little birdy told me they were there. That is my ultimate dream race. I'm gonna have to go back to the store and pick up yet another pair of socks to hear about their adventure.

I'm going to try another run on the mountain early Saturday morning.

Alright.. I doubt I will be running that distance with everyone, but I guess I will try and get up there and check out the course! Disc Course!.. haha Who knows though.. I would rather run a long trail race than a marathon.. One of these days at least.
I am really suprised at the great turn out that KZ is getting from his friends at work! What a salesman, right? It is that big smile, I know it!
It is great to see all the activity with everyone!

Roly.. I should be ready for Either mountain real soon. Let's get a plan. Maybe a few others will join us.. ok!
